Effectively it'll bump you to the next category bonus, so if you have +1 and get a '+1 upgrade' then for cost it becomes +2, so 2k -> 8k meaning yes +6k.
If its already +2 then it becomes +3 so 8k -> 18k, and a 10k increase.
Yeah, I thought that was how it worked, but wasn't sure. Wanted to make sure.
Here's what I have in mind:
-Inspired on the sword cane (6,000)
-Cloak of Resistance +1 (1,000) - they're cheap
-10 assorted 1st level potions (500) - leaning towards a mix of healing and stuff like Shield of Faith
-Bag of Holding 1 (2,500) - can't hurt... unless Sara brains someone with it. :P
Only leaves Maria with 298gp so someone else may need to do the bribery for a bit. :P

Ahk. How much do you think it would be for Darius to shift the enchantment from the cloak onto Maria's coat? Or maybe just change it into the half-cloak thing I described as part of her work clothes?
You can have it restyled to a half cloak for no cost, since it is just a cosmetic change.
Ahk, cool. So after those other purchases, that leaves Maria with 1,298gp.
Any ideas for the potions? I'm thinking at least a few of Shield of Faith.
Actually I just realised - bags of holding are heavy. And Maria doesn't have much in the way of strength (and most of that's covered by her armour - or does armour not count for encumbrance when worn?). I'll still buy it, but maybe Sara or someone else with muscle carries it.
Armor still counts while worn. With a low strength you will likely want to go for mithral armor and a handy haversack.
Armour's already mithral, so I think I will go with the haversack instead of the bag.
Though we probably should look into getting a bag at some point. I can pitch in some of the cost for one.
EDIT: Okay; turns out my encumbrance issues were more due to me misunderstanding how this Google Sheet handles things. I was accidentally getting the haversack and bag of holding stuck on there twice. I actually do have just enough carry capacity for a bag of holding without being encumbered, but I think I'll stick with the haversack for that extra leeway.
You could also consider your shoulder-slot item being muleback cords, which would solve your carrying capacity issues.
Nah; I'm good now that I realised what mistake I was making with the sheet - plenty of unused space in the haversack so I shouldn't hit any more encumbrance issues for a while.

Damn that +5 competence bonus to dip; if it were a circumstance bonus I would get one for myself asap but it won't stack with my other items, :(
Yeah, I have a feeling that it won't stack with what Melodie has already either, but otherwise it really felt like something that Zhi would give her.
You can sell your existing magical gear for the standard 50% value.
I mean it's functionally a +2 to the other items, like the circlet was a +1 to the ring of eloquence. They all have nifty uses aside from stat boosting

Avellone really consolidated the story, and mechanically it's pretty solid as long as you're not trying to make your main character super-oddball. There's more additions coming and I'm curious to see if a modding community springs up to make more spells, feats, archetypes, etc.

Same here. A little disappointed that the half-orc bloke (whose name I can never spell) didn't stay a Sorcerer, so now the only full-caster companions are clerics.
Although I am glad that the full suite of aasimar heritages made it in, along with the Aldori Defender archetype for Fighters so I can make the aspiring Swordlord character I'm playing in a forum Kingmaker campaign.
And glad to see that the Dragon Disciple is in as well, so another incarnation of Theodric might be expanding his family's holdings beyond the Varisian wine trade.
Kingmaker looks fun. I've run the AP 3 times and am playing in a game now, so suffice to say I enjoy it. Unfortunately, I don't have the free time with two kids to sit down and play a large RPG.

Sara doesn't especially believe that cheating is immoral but would never put herself between Melodie and Zhi if it meant doing harm to their relationship, which this would (unless like the relationship was toxic and she was helping one break out but that's not the case)
Zhi might but also she's probably brought it up casually over the last few weeks and she's definitely told her girlfriends

Oh heck that's my first persona level up failure. I guess fluff would be I set one up but had to skip town to Yanmass, so regardless of its success or failure, it didn't get associated with my name nor my movement

I honestly don't remember, but I think I might have refused it on the basis of holy orders. But the cleric class itself is supposed to be a "martial priest" so I dunno.
Just realised - I never got around to using that last Persona Phase. Can't think of any real fluff for it because I was just thinking of running a Gather Information Operation. So I'm just gonna roll it and then add the fluff in later when/if I use the result.
