Yikes! Quite the effective opening volley, though the grindylow is still standing! I will update once Kip posts his actions.


Kip's hit pushes the grindylow back, so if Victrix wants to delay, she can stand without provoking an attack of opportunity.

Those were all very useful items, anyone want to request them?

I'd love to have any of them, but I think they might be better with others.

My suggestion would still be for Victrix to keep the Mithril Shirt (though she would get almost as much benefit from the Mwk Mithril Shirt that we found earlier -- and that I am currently wearing).

Would there be any value in Ema having a good weapon? We are unlikely to find another magic weapon that she can wield.

If not, I could give Victrix the Longsword and take the Spear myself.

Ema should probably take the Ring of Swimming, as she is least likely to put ranks there?

I could see lots of uses for the other ring. Giving it to the healer makes some amount of sense.

I am open to just about any ideas.

In a little while, I'll go through the spreadsheet again and calculate what money we should each get from the sale of loot so far.

I'm good with whatever. Nothing in that list seems particularly beneficial to me, so whoever can get good use out of it sounds good.

If you prefer having a magical spear rather than the magical longsword, that is fine with me.

Maximizing your effectiveness in the water is probably a better idea than what I was thinking.

I went through the spreadsheet and calculated sale prices for everything that wasn't currently assigned or otherwise obviously needed (the bottle of air, ring of swimming, and the clerical components).

Proposing selling the following:

Split 5 ways, this would give each character 529.8 gp

Additionally, the gold we found would add another 94 gp

It might be worth keeping the MW weapon, I'm thinking of taking a few crafting feats later given the setting for this and arms and armor would be a big one to take. We need MW weapons.armor for that anyway.

OK. I cleaned up the Loot Spreadsheet.

Since nobody had better suggestions, I gave the Ring of Swimming to Ema and the Bottle of Air to Kip.

I took the Hammer and Pitons.

The Dented Flute and Clerical supplies will remain stowed in town.

Everyone currently has 647.62 gp to play with. The party fund also has 647.62 gp currently.

Look at your individual tabs on the loot spreadsheet if you don't recall what you have grabbed so far.

Oh sorry. I knew you had a swim speed. I didn't realize you could breathe underwater as well. I assumed you'd be doing most underwater scouting, so I thought it made sense.

We'll let Victrix hold onto it for now, I guess.

Yup, the Deep Shaman archetype's Deep Heart hex that I picked up at level 2 gave me a swim speed and the ability to breathe underwater. Later on it helps with deep water pressure issues a little bit too.

Simon, you can work with the dwarf Alba Divenvaar. She has an alchemist's lab she would be willing to share with you.

Ema would ask that they set in a store of various reagents suitable for the creation of magic items and a few arcane scrolls if anyone has ideas on some spells they think we might need.


When you are ready to craft items, you can assume you have the reagents you need provided you have the gold to pay for them. :)

Excellent! Does Alba have any supplies to sell currently?

Looking for Antitoxin, Antiplague, 2 Vermin Repellents, and Smelling Salts.

I will spend my week learning the remaining formulae from the spellbook and attempting to craft an alkalai flask.

Craft(Alchemy): 1d20 + 10 + 2 + 1d6 ⇒ (1) + 10 + 2 + (3) = 16

Just barely successful, and it takes most of the week.

Since he is in the lab with Alba, he will spend time chatting with her. Being more or less self taught, he is interested in how Alba learned alchemy and if he can help find any supplies.

She has 200 gp worth of alchemical materials to make items with, so she can definitely make all of those items for you for the standard price. And she has the swift alchemy class features, so they will be done in a jiffy! :)

Simon, you can take 10 on the Craft check if you wish to successfully make the alkali flask.

With the new DC plugged into the calculation, use of the Lab, and a use of Inspiration on each check, I have a minimum check sufficient to create a flask in 1/3 of a week.

Excellent. Since goodberry is our only real out of combat healing, that'll help a lot. Also, they're delicious.

With the news that crafting feats will be allowed, I am considering taking a level of Alchemist in order to get the Brew Potion feat for free.

If I do so, is there any reason why I couldn't share one formula book for both classes?


I don't think you can take levels in alchemist if you have levels in investigator, since it is s hybrid class. Alba can brew potions for you, but you will have to pay full price for them. Likewise, Eason can craft wondrous items and Kurvis can scribe scrolls.
