Do we want to give Abigail the ring? I technically have a lower AC, but it shouldn't come up as much, and besides, I can always cast mage armor if needed.
Arma Avox |
Real nice thing about the extract of Enlarge Person, still just a standard action to draw and use, and it's normally a touch spell with a casting time of one round, I don't have to be anywhere near you to 'cast' it.
Arma Avox |
Probably not a bad idea, if I'm being honest. As long as you're fine with the change.
Technically, the Goodberries should wink out of existence, since that spell is not available to Rangers, buuuut that's up to Braniac. I did pick up UMD at the level up, so the wand is still usable.
Arma Avox |
oh my god, I have no social skills, exactly one (1) knowledge skill, a wisdom penalty, and my skillful trait is useless unless I can influence the academic with a Spellcraft or UMD check.
Arma Avox |
so we should really figure out the situation with the items. I don't think anybody even equipped that ring of protection. I'll edit the spreadsheet in the morning, figure out what the total sell value would be, split things up more or less evenly.
The only item I personally have my eye on is that mithril shirt. I'm thinking at least the ring of protection goes to Abigail.
Tessa Mithrandir |
Go for it, Abigail.
I'll use the wand, I suppose. I'm the only one who can really use it. Other than that, the only thing I can really use is the AoNA.
DM Brainiac |
It's not very common. However, it is a good ring to have if you plan on taking the Die Hard feat--that would let you take full actions each round that you are dying. Otherwise, it might be better just to sell it. :)
You can speak to the blacksmith Luetin about making a breastplate for you. You can always switch it out for lighter armor when you plan to go swimming.
Arma Avox |
Realistically, the only person in the party who would be likely to take Die Hard would be Abigail, since Rangers get Endurance as a bonus feat.
As for the rest, I think that the mundane gear should be kept for the common use of the colony. I'm not certain what we should do with the Azlanti longsword, but selling it doesn't seem right. With the liquid cash found, and selling the teakwood box and the Ring of Ferocious action, that's 2119gp between the four of us.
As for the downtime, unfortunately my Disable Device isn't quite high enough to take 10 to make a new key for the clockwork spy. I presume that is a longer-term task that I can't use a dex mutagen to make the skill check. But I can make cl1st potions for 25gp apiece.
Relia Pavel |
I'd like to take a house for the four of us. I have a feeling at some point the colonists are going to get angry with us for something. We seem to be lined up to be the fixers/sheriff of the village. :) I suggest the house by the fields south west side of town.
Relia will set up clinic hours for anyone needing healing, and those who are expecting little ones.
Abigail Garrett |
Abigail might take the feat, so can we keep the ring for now?
Abigail will organize or participate in organizing a militia and train colonists, form patrols, and organize security on the perimeter.
She'll also participate in scouting parties to explore the camp's immediate surroundings and produce a map of the area.
Arma Avox |
If we don't sell the ring, that's 619 gp between us. As for what to buy, in addition to Abigail, Relia may also want to upgrade to a breastplate, and both together would be 600gp. As much as I would like a set of thieves' tools (maybe reflavored as tinker's tools), it isn't nearly as important.
And as for downtime: can I copy 2nd level spells into my formula book from Una Hendrake's spellbook even though I can't yet use 2nd level formulas?
Tessa Mithrandir |
Hmmmm.... Still not 100% sure, but I think adding a few spells to my spellbook will be the best option. That'll cost 270 gp, and a few days of downtime.
Arma Avox |
I have 2 new favorite NPCs, in other news.
So, 2119gp, from that, and give me a shout if there's an objection: hold 600 in reserve for Abigail and Relia to upgrade their armor, 270gp for Tessa to copy spells, 100gp for Arma to craft 4 CLW potions, 60gp for Arma to copy spells (Resist Energy, Cat's Grace, See Invisibility), 100gp for masterwork, ahem, 'tinker's tools', that leaves 989 gp in the party fund.
Abigail Garrett |
DM: Can I add the Fortune Finder archetype for Abigail? At this level, the only change is removing the bonus to survival checks for tracking for a bonus to climb and swim checks.
Level 3 Highlights:
Adaptation (Infiltrator): Monstrous Humanoids
Bonus Feat: Endurance
Feat: Quick Draw
Skills: (7) Climb, Diplomacy, Knowledge Dungeoneering, Perception, Stealth, Survival, Swim.
Background Skills: Handle Animal, Know Geography

Is anyone else planning on taking any crafting feats? I took Brew Potion so I can make Cure Wounds etc potions during the downtime weeks.
+1 Heal, +1 Perception +1 Spellcraft
Background: +1 Craft Alchemy, +1 Linguistics Thassalonian
2 level 2 spells a day. Fog Cloud as my Domain Spell.
Does anyone have spells that will let us see through a fog? We'd be deadly with that combo.
Tessa Mithrandir |
I suppose I can grab Craft Wondrous Item; I already have Scribe Scroll, and I really won't benefit from Sacred Geometry until I hit 5th level.
Anyway, level up!
+5 HP +1 FCB
+7+2* skills Knowledge (arcana, engineering*, nature, dungeoneering, geography, local), spellcraft, linguistics* (terran), and perception
Feat: Craft Wondrous Item
New spells in the book:
invisibility, detect thoughts
I don't think there's much in the way of fog-piercing outside of magic items, class abilities, and true seeing, but I could be wrong.
Arma Avox |
1d8 ⇒ 8
Actually, not True Seeing. It doesn't allow you to ignore concealment. There are few options for seeing through fog. Besides a couple of wondrous items, there's the feats Blind-Fight and Improved Blind-Fight.
Also, I have Brew Potion as a bonus feat from my class, but I also can't do nearly as many neat spells as a Cleric can.
lv 3 feat: Weapon Focus (daggers)
Skills: Disable Device, Know Nature, Perception, Spellcraft, Stealth, Survival, Swim, UMD, Appraise, and Craft (Alchemy)
New extract: Reduce Person
Highlights: Sneak Attack +2d6, Swift Alchemy

I will be away from good computer access this weekend starting tomorrow. Feel free to bot me as needed. I may be able to post, but can't guarantee it.
