@Bloodgargler: I just caught a gameplay post from you on the RSS feed that isn't there on the gameplay page. If you deleted it because you needed to make changes, then no worries. But if it was a forum error, I wanted to give you a heads up.
Syndlara is also automatically proficient with longbows, as an elf. And no, she doesn't have a ranged weapon. When I was creating her, the longbow I had given her got cut in order to keep her wealth-by-level roughly the same as the rest of you. xD
Syndlara doesn't have any ranks in Climb and has a net -1 penalty to the roll (+1 for Str, -2 for armor check penalty), but that is an option.
From last rounds posts I though the second guy, the bow user, was dead. Thats why i ran back to regroup. Could i retcon my actions DM Blood? Attack him and then move if he goes under? If not then the bowman have an AoO agaisnt me when i run away from him.
PS: Yes, i was considering if it was time to retreat also. If anyone wants to use Averin's bow just ask, I will pass it to the person.
I was considering switching to the bow,but would need to be free of enemies,it's why Iolana went first for the ground foe.Can only change weapon once per round, and wouldn't have savages getting in melee range while changing back to scimitar.
But Iolana only has 2 pool points (20 more rounds of +1 weapon) and one lvl 1 spell left, then she would have to resort to the pearl to use another magic missile or shocking grasp.
I think running is a good idea. But I also think that we could win the fight if we tried, as long as there aren't even more archers coming. Tol's main goal is to protect Gatherine, so he's all for running. But if Gatherine wants to stay and fight, I am perfectly happy with her telling Tol off and getting ready to shoot as soon as the smoke clears, or coming up with more improvised incendiary devices. Which are awesome, by the way.
I honestly think I have one more flask of oil...Hmm..too bad I can't wrap some gunpowder into a rag and have either Tol use his sling to toss it into the flames or whoever has a bow attach it to an arrow.I can dream...but gonna wait on a vote for fight or flee before I act.
Went back in earlier posts to check equip/ treasure. I just used a flask of oil,out of the 6 we found.I know Iolana has one too.And Mugambi has the....knitted fetishes with Jump spell and something else.Who else has oil?
Yes, Iolana has 1 flask. It will be hard to RP such an issue in char, since if everyone acted like he/she is going to anyway, some of us would stay and some would run;in gameplay we don't have the time to sit down and discuss.

I think the decision should be RPed out, and made with consideration for character motivation. Voting in character is impractical and democracy makes for lousy stories anyway. But I think OOC discussion of what we each see our characters doing is appropriate, since this is an issue that's difficult to work out in initiative order. I don't want to metagame based on out-of character tactical knowledge or the assumption that this is a level-appropriate encounter; but I'd like to know if everyone else thinks this is a group of people who will run away rather than fight against superior numbers in very unfavorable terrain.
As I said above, Tol is for running, but will stay and fight as long as Gatherine stays. He's not above dragging her away by force if he hears a general call for retreat, though.
@Bloodgargler: I just noticed this issue with the Beast Rider cavalier archetype, and I'm curious what your ruling is. Some people seem to advocate making the listed mounts large at 4; some people advocate letting a medium character ride a medium animal; some advocate letting the character have a "mount" he can't ride; and some say you can't actually select anything but horse and camel until level 7.
I'm theoretically okay with any option, although I would opt out of actually riding a medium mount, since that seems silly to me. So far, Tol has been very mounted-combat focused, but that's not my long-term goal; it's just what makes sense at low levels, while riding around outdoors. I'd actually like an unrideable medium mount, because it's easy to take into dungeons, etc., but I think that defeats the concept of the class.
Your average horse stands nearly 6 ft tall at the shoulders and 9 feet long from flank to front and sighs 700 lbs and up.That's a small one.If that ain't large, then woo. And how the bleep 3'9" Tol vaults into the saddle is a feat itself, especially fully armored.
And as a farmer,I know very well that a horse can enter the average home's doorway and stand easily in your living room...: (
That was my initial assumption too, but I didn't look at the animal companions in question to see when they normally advance to large. As long as you're comfortable with it, I'm happy doing it that way.
No question that a horse is large, and I agree it's hilarious that a dwarf less than 4' tall can vault in to the saddle. Or reach down far enough to help Gatherine up, for that matter.
While a horse or ther large creature certainly can fit in a dungeon, it's hard for one to maneuver in cramped (less than 10' wide) hallways, so they (and their rider) get a -4 penalty to AC and attack rolls. Also, horses in particular don't like to do things like walk down stone steps into dark caves. Stairs and enclosed spaces are less scary to tigers, for example.
I was originally thinking that a dinosaur would be a goofy option, but I guess it turns out that there are lots of dinosaurs down here, so they make sense after all. I'll wait to see what makes most sense when level 4 rolls around, though.
It is more than a week now that the region i live in (Emilia Romagna) is constantly struck by earthquakes of at least 5.5 magnitude on the
Richter scale. Many towns around my place have been heavily damaged and there are about 20 victims so far, luckily my town is yet untouched, but we are very worried.
Wow.that's terrible.Be safe and hopefully it passes by.I experienced my 1st earthquake here in MD,USA and was bewildered after sitting in the middle of a field and was tossed off a stump.every single creature on my farm went deadly quiet and still.nothing in my house so much as twitched but a huge mirror cracked completely in half against my bedroom wall.I can't believe these things are as common as rain in California and the west coast of united states.

It's an Apparatus of Kwalish!
Disclaimer:
That was a joke. If by ludicrous chance it really is an apparatus of kwalish (which I think is Wizards IP anyway) in a low-level adventure, I did not mean to spoil it.
