Thnx ya'll and goodluck with your epic clash of the Titans dragon brawl.

Well i'm not yet so sure it'll be done

What I'd really like to do is a co-op gladiator thing.
Multiple threads (like three) ... each thread is its own arena. Each arena owner recruits its own stable of gladiators and either fights at home or 'travels' to another thread for hosted tournament. After each tournament, arena owners could upgrade their arena (buy traps, cool beasties etc..)

EDIT: There are quite a few gladiator type things in recruitment... both what made me think of it, and why I haven't proposed such a thing.

M Elf Wizard 4

Yeah, arena fights are pretty awesome. PvP makes it even more exciting, and I like the idea of there also being a metagame for the managers.

Rambling story about the good old days.:
One of my old DMs had an arena in the city that we could go to between adventures. Our opponents were always level-appropriate parties of PC races with class levels; the higher "levels" of competition (for higher prizes) had more twinked-out opponents. There were also theme fights, like 1-on-1, civilization vs. horde, and my personal favorite, 1-on-1 man vs. dragon. I was actually a female elf multiclass monstrosity (fighter-rogue-swashbuckler-bard-dervish. This was 3.5.) in that campaign, not a "man" on two counts, but that didn't stop me from qualifying to slay some dragons.

M Elf Wizard 4

Just had a look at character sheets; looks like both Iolana and Gatherine are actually better trackers than Syndlara. Doesn't mean they (the characters) know that, though...

That's a bit amusing. Guess I'd better hope Syn rolls well.

Male Mazinger-type Fan of Go Nagai level 38

Are we keeping the same walking order? If so Iolana should be the front liner for her Survival and melee skills?

M Elf Wizard 4

Syndlara knows where we are going and looks to be about as good at melee, so she should probably go first. That lets us all keep an eye on her, too. Can't trust those elves, you know. ;-)

900 posts! Yay!

Male Mazinger-type Fan of Go Nagai level 38

I reckoned we we'll attain the 1000th in about 20 days is we keep this posting pace.

Male Mazinger-type Fan of Go Nagai level 38

Does Averin's body have his gear on or it has been lost in the fall?
To Iolana it isn't disrepect to take armor ,bow and greatsword to him;he doesn't need them anymore, we do.

Shadow Lodge

Mook lvl 12

I have to admit i was thinking in similar lines. Also potions and rations.

Male Mazinger-type Fan of Go Nagai level 38

Comes to mind the first The Gamers movie, the scene where the barbarian kills the party mage trying to knock him out, then the others make a funeral for him (so they get the XP for mercy and are even with the penalty for burning down an orphanage) which lasts 3 seconds:
the elf says "poor Ambrose,we hardly knew thee" then him,the barbarian and the rogue assault the corpse and strip it naked :)

Oracle lvl 4 [ HP 26/34 | AC 21 T 12 FF 19 | CMD 17 | F +3 R +3 W +3 | Init +2 Per -2]

Our problem here is that we are literaly stranded on a desert island (maybe not so desert...). There are no shops or blacksmiths, Any piece of equipment we lose is irreplaceable.

M Elf Wizard 4

Tol's preference would be to bury a fallen warrior with his arms. Potions, rations, and other random stuff he would be fine with keeping, though I don't know if rations can be expected to survive immersion in sea water and still be edible.

As for the arms: I don't think any of us needs a greatsword, and I don't think a breastplate fit for a human man would fit any of us. (Although the rules don't say anything about armor fitting short of full plate, so theoretically any of us could wear it.) The longbow might be worth taking, but Tol, being more focused on melee, would see the longbow as more of an accessory than the real "arms."

Now, if whoever takes his sword/armor swears to use it to wreak vengeance on those that led to his death, to never forget him, etc., Tol would probably be cool with that. He won't forget that it's Averin's though, and selling it for cash would not make him happy.

Male Mazinger-type Fan of Go Nagai level 38

To Iolana on the contrary, selling them is the best solution. This way their value will still be put to use (by buying other gear we use,at least this is what her Abadarian faith would suggest).
Being LN,she isn't really going to argue over the armor or greatsword, since she has no real use for them, and won't risk causing quarrels in the party for such items.
The potions are another matter.

Mook lvl 12

At this point Mugambi is more interested in making sure Averin spirit is put to rest. But growing up on a harsh eviromment like a jungle he knows life and death may depends on the contents of one's pockets. Burying a person with its possessions is deprieving the rest of the tribe of valueble ressorces. Off game, in one or two lvls he will be a barbarian and will need a greatsword and bow. I would liike to pick up those.

Sea water is not poisouness and trail rations are wrapped for hard travel. I would say they are still edible even if just for today and tomorrow.

If anyone suggests that we should bury Averin with his potions of cure light wounds the party's medic will flat out call that person mad.

Potions and items he has we take.bury him with his arms.some mush about him needing weapons and arms in the afterlife.they aren't that desperate for gear.

M Elf Wizard 4

I'm going to a conference tomorrow, and badly need to work on my presentation... I probably won't be able to post until tomorrow night, and maybe not until Friday. Feel free to control Tol if need be. Whatever you do, nobody have him say Syndlara's name right!

Male Mazinger-type Fan of Go Nagai level 38

Tol begins training on spelling Syndlara's name "SyndlaraSyndlaraSyndlaraSyndlaraSyndlaraSyndlaraSyndlaraSyndlaraSyndlaraSy ndlaraSyndlaraSyndlaraSyndlaraSyndlaraSyndlara......."

Since nobody posted in the last couple days I decided to push things along a little. Its depressing to linger too much at funerals...

Male Mazinger-type Fan of Go Nagai level 38

I was waiting too

If we go after the lizard, dibs on skinning and wearing its hide and head as an awesome cloak. All the proof she needs.

Ready to rock.
Finished my Documentary for school. Here is a still from it. Subject is a local guy who blows glass pipes - legal grey area so he asked me to sign non-release forms... But I wanted to show y'all what has been soaking up all my time.

Male Mazinger-type Fan of Go Nagai level 38

Interesting documentary.Hope you enjoyed writing it

Yep, was fun. All of his gear is homemade - including his heat protection gear made from aluminum siding .. felt like the lair of a Mad Max villain.
The writing I was doing was actually for another class. I think the script was stealing my creative energy, but the Doc was what was taking up my time.
I'd get on here and my brain would be like "Uh .. there are leaves. Leaves are green. Um .."

Nice still man. I had no idea you was studying to be a filmmaker. I work in the same field. I am cinematographer here in Brasil. I spend two years living in NYC going to New york film academy.

Male Mazinger-type Fan of Go Nagai level 38

Do you have room for another one? my work here sucks :(

Ha! That's really cool, Merck. I heart editing ... taking classes at San Fran Academy of Art U. This is my last semester for filming, writing, etc. - then just one more semester of sound/foley and editing.

:\ Sorry to hear that Gandal. Not liking what you do for a living is bad for the skin. Form an exit strategy!

Male Mazinger-type Fan of Go Nagai level 38

Do you have a 100 megaton nuke? That would be an excellent strategy!!!!!

Wow.I feel. Outta sorts now. I'm just a humble farmer. Whose farm is smack dab in the center of a suburb due to housing developments.

M Elf Wizard 4

A humble farmer? Neat! I've actually always wanted to be a humble farmer. What do you grow?

Sorry, long day without Internet. Post and map will be up within an hour.

Hey guys. I am traveling to NYC this week. I will not have internet access most of the time so my postings are going to be a little erratic.

Es. NYC sucks. Good luck.

Male Mazinger-type Fan of Go Nagai level 38

C'è nessuno ? (Is there anybody in?)

M Elf Wizard 4

I'm here.

I'm back, just finished my finals. I'm leaving tomorrow for my annual rpg cabin trip until Sunday. I will be able to post on my ipad, but maps will be difficult.

Was that a test roll. Or something Gatherine iosn't going to like?

1 person marked this as a favorite.

that was an attack roll, the monkey is dual wielding red herrings.

Male Mazinger-type Fan of Go Nagai level 38

Ok i'm lost (or i didn't recognized what you are talking about)

edit:doesn't matter, saw the post in gameplay.

M Elf Wizard 4

My position is fine, but the map is view only, so I couldn't move my token if I wanted to.

Anyone else can't access this map?

Female Elf Magus 1

I had trouble accessing it earlier, but it seems to work okay at the moment.

Ok I think I have it set right. If you care to roll initiative, and post a single action. I'll post in the morning.
