An empty bottle sails over your heads... thrown from the roof of the keep by someone out of everyone's view. A second later it is shattered by an arrow.. also from someone unseen on the roof.

Hrafen raises an eyebrow as he watches the fate of the bottle, but that does not stop him from moving onto his next target, his face a mask of twisted fury as he fires a brace of force missiles into one of the roof-top bandits.

Targeting L11.

It's all Marisol can do to catch Ayles' swing on her cutlass, struggling for several seconds before pushing it off with her unusual strength - after which she gives off a quick, sharp exhalation of exertion.

If all went well, she had no doubt Balter could track them down. For now it would be better to get them away, especially if the shattered bottle had unforeseen consequences...like reinforcements.

She concentrated on the many possibilities of actions she could take and used her oracular power to bring images of them into the real space effectively camouflaging her actual place in the present.

Durielle activates Time Flicker.

For a split second, Durielle wonders if Vladimir realizes the contradiction in asking everyone to run into, well, the "open" area inside the fort and simultaneously advising everyone to get out of that very condition. She decides that perhaps from where he's standing he must have a better vantage of the interior, and she moves to follow his suggestion.

Durielle still mutters a prayer to Gorum asking for his blessing for taking an aggressive advance in combat.

Her concentration caught up in finding another thread in which the arrow hurt Marisol less or not at all, Durielle is startled to be bodily lifted by the noble woman. Her breath catches briefly, but she doesn't resist.

Durielle is light...much lighter than one would expect. It stands to reason that as an elf she would be less weight due to their naturally slender physiology, but the oracle seems to defy even those expectations. It is clear to Marisol that Durielle's curse affects her body terribly, and the dhampir is left to wonder how Durielle has the strength to stand or lift well, anything.

Her face turns up to look at Marisol's face straining with the exertion of effort through such pain. Durielle's luminescent eyes seem to flare with light as she once again summons forth her power to influence time.

cure moderate wounds: 2d8 + 4 ⇒ (6, 6) + 4 = 16

Again the arrow's position changes. It flickers in and out of existence to finally settle on a place firmly lodged in Marisol's arm muscle. Still a tidy wound, but one that moves the magus further from danger.

Whether Marisol puts Durielle down or not, Durielle otherwise remains ready to once again struggle with the moments of chance to further decrease her friend's pain.

I'm assuming we're out of rounds? You caught me right in the middle of writing this! :P

Again, the waves of probable chance strike Marisol through Durielle.

Durielle teeters back, her breath ragged, and her legs give way. She begins to fall on her rump.

As the Stag Lord slumps to the ground, Vladimir stabs into his motionless form one more time, just to make sure that the monsterous man is truly dead.

Satisfied the Stag Lord is no more, Vladimir calls out from the catwalk above. "Is everyone alright down there? Great work Hrafen! Balter, I saw you take a significant shot."

Just as he finishes his comment, he is just barely able to see Durielle tending to Marisol. Worried, Vladimir rushes back out of the fort to see just how bad it is. He arrives just as Durielle's legs begin to give out, he is probably too far away to catch the elven woman, but it will not stop him from trying.

Marisol lowers Durielle carefully to the ground, kneeling down alongside her. The healing power that washes out of Durielle seems to reverse their conditions; Marisol goes from barely standing to carefully cradling her friend as she's lowered to the ground, while fatigue overtakes the slender elf.

"Stop - stop! I'm all right," Marisol says to Durielle. "So help me, if you kill yourself trying to save me, I'll have no choice but to follow you into the afterlife and harass you about it for eternity!"

Marisol glances down at the sticky blood covering her tabard and the ends of her hair and mutters, "Oh, now this is just ruined."

She holds on long enough to make sure that Durielle can sit up and isn't about to faint from exertion.

"What, this?" Balter asks, again looking down at the arrow still sticking out of his chest. "I'm not choking on blood or bleeding out or anything, so it must have missed my heart and lungs. Lucky, right?"

Bravado aside, he grunts in pain as he stoops down to collect his blades. He wipes them off on a nearby bandit's clothing before returning them to their sheaths.

"Don't forget, we'll be needing his head to satisfy Nettles. And maybe scare the piss out of any stragglers, while we're at it."

He watches as Vladimir attempts to catch Durielle, a bit too slow to make the attempt himself. Or maybe the arrow had sunken in a little deeper than he let on.

Marisol pulls off her bandolier and tosses it to one side. "The small yellow vials on that are healing potions - use what you need," she says. "Balter, Vlad, don't bother trying to out-man each other by shrugging off your scrapes! We don't know what other surprises the Stag Lord may have left behind."

I have five potions of cure light wounds available for whoever needs one!

Hrafen breathes a sigh of relief.

"Well, I am glad that is over!"

Ever practical, he begins to search the bodies, whilst Archibald helps to drag them outside for burial.

When Marisol comments that her clothes are ruined, Hrafen gives a wan smile.

"I can get the blood off with Prestidigitation, but I can't do anything about the holes, at present."

He then turns to the others.

"We should thoroughly explore this complex, to make sure that there aren't any other surprises waiting for us in here... then we can go after our 'friend' in the tower, as well as the ones at the crossing."

"Agreed, Hrafen. We should take a few moments to prepare ourselves first" he says with a nod toward Marisol.

"I assure you, I have no false bravado that will keep me from healing myself. That club strike from Ox left a mark." Vladimir says with a grin as he casts a curative spell on himself.

"I can still cast that spell again. Balter come here a moment, no sense in using up Marisol's potions right now."

"As nice of an ornament as this thing is, I might roll onto it in my sleep and kill myself," Balter says with a grimace, flicking at the fletching of the arrow. He doesn't hesitate to move over to receive Vladimir's spell. As the wound heals, the arrow in question simply slides out before dropping to the ground, sparing the half-elf from a painful surgery. Without skipping a beat, he presses a boot onto the arrow shaft and snaps it in two.

"Much better. And here I thought I was gonna have to pluck it out myself. Thank the gods for magical healing. Your pick."

He looks up at Hrafen and nods.

"Yeah. There's no telling what Dovan will do once he learns the Stag Lord is dead. Especially once the river spirit is gone."

"I have a few thoughts on that matter, but let us deal with the rest of the fort first." Vladimir says as he begins to walk back toward the fort's entrance.
