Some help finally. It is strange to see a people that would rather stand and watch them to help one in trouble.

Nyym waits till the group gets to the top on the wall before he speaks..

Councilor Morninghawk, thank you for coming. Patrol Sgt Frum didn't tie the rope to himself properly. Instead of tiring it around him, he tied it to his belt. Also judging by this bottle I would say he is drunk. He k ocked himself out right as the group started gathering below. My apoligies I was unable to do more till more help arrived. If we can get another rope down there and tie it around his body we can safely pull him back up without worry of his belt breaking.

Although Nyym could clearly see the agitation on Sara's face. He did not shurk away or show fear at her demeanor. He did however keep his time as to the seriousness of the situation. Nyym gave a nod to his companions to show that he was greatful that they were there as well.

Before entering the gate, Rohan called out to Sara in the group.

I will await down stairs, to catch the poor man should he fall! Go ahead without me.

Rohan turned viciously causing a dirt cloud to appear behind him as he rushed towards Patrol Sgt Frum at the base of the mountain. Looking up and taking in the estimated height of the tower made a quick and rash decision though he was uncertain that it would work.

Rohan positioned his body so that he could see the top of the tower where the knot was tied unto a brick wall. With any luck he attempted to use his kinectic powers of Basic Geokinectist and shift the stone that the knot was tied to. The appearance of a large dust cloud hand shaped up and grabbed a hold of the stone, and begin to drag the stone downwards with all its force that it could muster. The hand would quickly vanish soon after it failed or accomplished its tasked.

Basic Geokinectist, shifting 5 lbs of earth/stone max, with some fluff ^_*

His intentions are to shift the stone with the knot tied to it down 14 feet, which would take a single action if it was possible to do so. The idea would be to make sure that Patrol Sgt Frum was only 1 foot off the ground so if the belt came undone he would only fall 1 foot, not 15 foot.

Given that we're not in a combat situation, you could have actually brought him to the ground completely, have someone untie him, and then sent the stone block back to its original spot, all done in under a minute. After all, basic geokinesis doesn't cost burn and lasts as long as your character can concentrate on performing the task. Would that be preferable or do you wish to stick with your current action?

As soon as Patrol Sergeant Frum reached the ground, one of the onlookers came over and undid the rope tied around his belt. Once the task was done, and the block returned to its place on the tower, the gathered crowd began to slowly disperse.

Well, coming up here certainly was a waste of time, Sara growled under her breath. She then snatched the empty bottle from Nyym's hand and made her way down through the trapdoor.

Seeing that the danger to the Patrol Sgt was over, Nyym took a look around from the high vantage point while he had a chance to see if he saw anymore of the marks like the one below him on the wall..

Once Rohan found insight on his ability to save Patrol Sgt Frum, with a bit of luck on his side, for uncertainty that it would of worked, he was re-leaved. He Moved forward to Look down on Sgt Frum and see if he was ok. Once he got next to him he kneeled down to get a better look at him. Was he conscious or was he incapacitated?

"Sgt Frum are you ok, Sir are you ok?"

He asked again and again very quickly trying to get his attention. There was much to figure out, and his death would not be a good thing. Something crossed his mind about Sgt Frum.

"This couldn't have been a accident it just doesn't seem logical for him to tie himself and leap. Who pushed him? What information does he have pertaining to our case that merit his death? What ever it must be it surely important, we must find the reasoning."

Nyym, from where your current elevation on the tower, you can make out other crosses/swords in the following areas:

White Cross/Sword markings and locations:
The Barterstones (Area 5) A large white sword has been painted on the eastern face of the largest rock in this area, visible above the roofs of the market stalls set up in the stones’ shadow; Commons (Area 4) Someone has used a broad brush to paint a wide white cross or sword on the stone floor of the Commons amphitheater; and Sanctuary (Area F) Besides the sizeable white sword representing Iomedae’s own holy sword that juts from the roof of the temple, a thick white cross or sword has been painted on the rock face behind the Sanctuary. Taking into account the simple nature of the graffiti map you saw in the room, all of the locations (including the tower he's standing on) match up with what you saw.

Rohan needs to perform a DC 15 Survival check. Otherwise, the only thing he can surmise is that Patrol Sergeant Frum is unconsconscious, drunk, and needs to be taken to Sanctuary as quickly as possible.

Success:
Frum has blood on the back of his head from where he lost coordination, slipped, and slammed into the tower. This is why he is unconscious. However, the fact that he hung up there the way that he did and for as long as he did means that his blood pooled in his upper torso, possibly in his lungs and head, as well as causing his heart to work harder than it would have had to. Added into all of this is the fact that he reeks of alcohol, which means that the blood pooling occurred a lot faster than it would have normally. Bottom line, he needs to be taken to Sanctuary for immediate treatment.

Torn between which friend to follow, Liesel-Marie realizes that three people at the top is probably more than enough. She follows closely on the big man's heel thinking the two of them might catch the hanging man.

She watches with amazement as Rohan once again uses the stone itself to safely bring the man down. She's sure it was Rohan - look at him concentrate! Would that she had such power, how wonderful that must be!

Lets get that Survival Check out of the way

Survival: 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (9) + 0 = 9

Rohan looks over Sgt Frum and with a sad look in his eyes he looks up to Liesel-Marie.

"I think the poor guy might of had to much to drink, he looks to be unconscious and probably bad shape from the fall. It might be best that we get him to the Sanctuary immediately to insure his safety and to someone who might be able to yield better care."

Now Rohan knew that his strength was by no means what Liesel was, with her burly mass standing near Rohan, and her undoubtedly strong figure at the competition of tug of war. He shifts his entire movement to the mans feet, The lighter side and looks to Liesel.

"Grab the mans shoulders and lets get him to the Sanctuary on the double."

Rohan lifted the Sgt Frum feet and waited for Liesel to assist, primarily the heavy part of the man with her mighty strength knowing full well that he could not lift him on his own.

His connection with the earth was not strong enough to just shift the earth in a slide formation to transport him in a constant down hill slide, which of course would of made things faster.

"I must become stronger, I must become better, faster, more powerful to help people in need.

The thoughts raced through his mind as he looked at the poor man laying there drunk and unconscious and the little that Rohan could do. He wanted to be able to shift the earth and command it to aid him when it needed, though nothing of the sort would happen till his power manifested to a more defined degree.

A human, thin, dark blond hair, kind of plain looking, raised his hand in an attempt to get the Erutaki's attention. I have a cart you can use. Grab him and follow me.

This confuses me. I thought we were at 12 on the Trunau map (though I'm not sure left or right side as I look at the map). Going past the Hopespring from here would be west, wouldn't it? Thus I assume I am incorrect with regards to our location. Does the volunteer appear to be going in the right direction or not? Thinking that your description is meant to imply that he's taking the long way, here is L-M's response.

"Thank you. Your aid will be remembered. We will head toward Sanctuary and meet you along the way."

If I misinterpret and he's taking a fairly direct route:

"Thank you, your aid will be remembered. Are we headed to Ramblehouse?"

Ah, just to add to my confusion, there are two different 12's on the map. Now I really have no idea where Sgt. Frum's misadventure has taken place.

South tower, first section marked 12 on the map, left side of the wall next to the Hopespring pool.

No, were not headed to Ramblehouse, but I suppose you could say that my cart lies in back of it. It's not much further now.

True to the man's word, a tarp-covered cart came into view.

Hold on, the man called out as he ran ahead. Let me move some things first.

The man reached the side of the vehicle and grabbed the covering, then yanked it away to reveal three dogs with red fur that resembled coyotes in size and build. The animals stood up, then leapt from the back of the cart, the hair along their backs raised in hackles. As they approached Liesel-Marie and the others, the dogs began to drool uncontrollably.

A malicious grin appeared on the man's face as he wrapped the tarp around him in a flourish. Such trusting fools.

He then produced a flask of clear liquid, downed it in one gulp even as he released the tarp, and dissolved from view.

So, you want to hit 2nd level, do ya? Well, here you go! Nyym is still up on the wall. Sara and Kyt followed after, so they're present for the ambush. Rohan was nearly shocked that someone was willing to give aid to us for Sgt Frum, but was happy to continue on along the way. So as they made there way down carrying the poor Sgt in a direction that felt as if they were going the wrong way, but its not uncommon, the cart could be in another location. Rohan followed along, though there wasn't much choice as Liesel was leading the way as she carried most of the weight.

Rohan face nearly went pale white as the man and his three dogs became a threat.

"What..."

Rohan suspensions have come to light, the information that Sgt Frum had was probably more valuable then he realized at this moment it. Though it dawned on him as the threat against Sgt Frum was becoming very real indeed.

There wasn't much room to go as we apparently got tunneled into a small area in the back of the Ramblehouse. Misleading us completely, we fell for it right there in plain view.

"Petty criminal, you will not get away with this."

He looked to Liesel, and quickly spoke to her.

"Set him down gently we don't want to injure him further."

Rohan took his move action I would assume to lower Sgt Frum feet to the ground, and turn and face the villain at hand. He took a second move action to position himself in front of Liesel and Sgt Frum attempting to protect them from the man and the wolves.

'Double move action, lower feet, and then step in front to guard, also taking up full defense for this round.'

How much distance between us, the wolves, and the man's last known position? Are we doing this via narrative?

As Rohan is telling Liesel-Marie to set Frum down gently, he realizes she is already on the move. Nodding agreeably at the man's assessment, she offers as she sets the unconscious man down, "So glad that we were able to draw you out for a moment, coward. Shall we play with your doggies while you run away once more? Is that your plan?"

Lower Frum to the ground (move action?); enter bloodrage (free)

She rages and roars at the wolves. The action depends on the range. I don't know the range of her fire blast - if a wolf is close enough, light it up. If not, she's going to attempt to demoralize the lot of them. This is her standard action.

Rolls:
Touch attack for fire blast: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (1) + 4 = 5 1d6 ⇒ 4 The kineticist's fire blast is 1d6 + 1/2 CON modifier; if that applies to the awakened bloodrager, the damage should be 1d6 + 1

Influence (intimidate): 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (20) + 2 = 22

I guess I hope they are out of range of the fire blast...

Tried finding a suitable map to use for this, but came up empty. So, yes, this will be a narrative-based combat. Distance from the wolves is 40 feet, while the Plain Man's distance was 10 feet farther back. Because the only form infusion LM has is kinetic blade, that's the only way your kinetic blast can manifest. So, your range for now is melee. Lowering Frum is a move action. As far as your Influence goes, you were successful at affecting one of the younger wolves via demoralization. This will take effect once the wolves move in closer toward the group.

And it would seem that I misread Rohan's action, given that he stepped forward and not Liesel-Marie. Assuming a '5-foot step', since he didn't say otherwise. So this means that the wolves would have attacked him first, not Liesel-Marie, while Kyt and Sara would have formed up on the Erutaki. As such, the narrative hath been adjusted (see below). Kyt drew her temple sword and held it at the ready, while Sara positioned herself back to back with both the elf and Rohan Liesel-Marie over the sergeant's prone body. The two three women were prepared to deal with any wolves that made it past Liesel-Marie Rohan.

Up on the wall, Nyym was making his way across, hoping to make full use of his high vantage point to aid his companions.

Meanwhile, there was no sign of the man responsible for the ambush. It would seem that he had fled the field of battle like a coward.

End of Round 1.

The plain man has successfully made his getaway, so he has been stricken from the initiative order. Declare your actions for Round 2.

Wolves have a speed of 50 ft, so the adult wolf moved only 40, while the young wolves moved 45 each, and are flanking Rohan.
No Nyym because he's on the wall. +1 bonus to hit due to higher ground, plus the wolves are unaware, so your first shot will be a sneak attack, as he is now on section of wall on the right side of the gate.

Wow... I am off my game. The wolves have a speed of 50, so since I said they were 40 feet from Liesel-Marie (who hasn't moved from where she was standing), that means that the adult wolf only traveled 30 feet, while the young ones moved 35 feet. Rohan could've made an attack of opportunity on one of the young wolves, but is unable to do so since he is taking a total defense action. Kyt and Sara, on the other hand, can... as can Liesel-Marie.

Sara's AoO: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (20) + 8 = 28
Critical confirmation: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (6) + 8 = 14

Kyt's AoO: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7

I'm treating Sara's smithy hammer as a light hammer, as opposed to an actual warhammer.

Rohan looks to the left then again to the right, noticing that he is completely surrounded and any attack that he wields would only lead him open to an attack by all three. The outcome didn't look good, and if he moved it would then leave it open for the others to be attacked. He had to think quick and while he didn't want to look like he was doing nothing he extended his foot, through his hands up to guard and prepared for further attacks, trying to give cover for Sgt Frum and the rest of the party as they unleashed there mighty attacks.

"Really didn't consider my range attacks in a situation like this, first priority is to defend Sgt Frum."

Nyym quickly reaches his new position as the wolves set for their next attack. Nyym takes aim at the wolf in front of Kyt. Sara seems to have her wolf well handled. That will leave Rohan one on one with the larger wolf to his front..

Apologies, I thought I had the basic blast plus the kinetic blade that I chose. This is my first go with these particular rules - I will get them hammered out eventually.

"Well struck, Sara!"

Liesel is unarmed, so she launches a kick (AoO, provoking one from the wolf since I don't have the Unarmed Strike feat) at the wolf facing Kytynna even as she draws her greataxe and follows the kick with a mighty overhead swing as Kyt's follow-through carries her back slightly from the wolf.

Round 2

Liesel-Marie planted her boot right between the eyes of the smaller wolf, but not before it tried latching its jaws onto her leg.

Young Wolf AoO: 1d20 - 2 ⇒ (5) - 2 = 3
Damage: 1d4 - 1 ⇒ (1) - 1 = 0

But though the Erutaki managed to cross its eyes with her kick, her follow-through with the overhead swing saw the weapon biting dirt rather than flesh.

Kyt chuckled to herself as she tucked the blade she was wielding behind her back, then pivoted herself to launch a series of rapid-fire kicks at the hapless lupine.

Kyt's Unarmed Strike: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (13) + 3 = 16
Unarmed Strike Damage: 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3

The elf's attack seemed to rouse the wolf from its stupor as regained enough presence of mind to snap at Kyt. On Rohan's other side, the wolf that Sara smacked with her smithy hammer joined in as well.

Young Wolf 1 Bite: 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (1) + 0 = 1
Damage: 1d4 - 1 ⇒ (3) - 1 = 2
Young Wolf 2 Bite: 1d20 - 2 ⇒ (18) - 2 = 16
Damage: 1d4 - 1 ⇒ (1) - 1 = 0 Even though it comes out to zero, by the rules, she still takes 1 point of damage.
Trip: 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (3) + 0 = 3

But while Sara's opponent was still unsteady from the blow it had been dealt previously to score a hit on the half-orc, the wolf attacking Kyt managed to catch the elf around the ankle, though, at the last moment, she managed to extract it before the wolf could clamp down with its jaws and do any real damage.

Kyt's Fort Save: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (15) + 4 = 19

The larger wolf focused its attention solely on tall human before it, darting in quickly as it attempted to land a bite of its own. Rohan's uncanny coordination frustrated the Blood Plain wolf's efforts as he proved just faster than his adversary to narrowly avoid the attack.

Adult Wolf Bite: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (18) + 2 = 20
Bite Damage: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2

Sara Morninghawk brought her smithy hammer up to finish off the animal just as a thunk sound came from her right, accompanied by a sharp, high-pitched yelp as Kyt's wolf staggered and fell with an arrow protruding from its left side.

Sara's Smithy Hammer: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (15) + 8 = 23
Smithy Hammer Damage: 1d4 + 6 ⇒ (2) + 6 = 8

The blow connected, snapping the wolf's neck as she hit it on the base of the jaw and launching the wolf into a spin that took it several feet away. When it came to a stop, the creature lay unmoving in a tangled heap.

Since he didn't state where, I'll give you the flank. So, +2 to hit for both LM (next round, if there is one) and Rohan (making your 17 attack roll a 19).

Sensing the opportunity to Liesel-Marie quick-stepped forward and diagonally to the left of the wolf and unleashed a powerful swing with her axe. Its senses on edge, the animal nimbly but barely avoided the attack.

Kytynna, seeing the same opportunity as the Erutaki, also moved in, spinning in a graceful pirouette as she brought her sword to bear against the wolf.

The cunning beast dipped its forelegs, head, and neck, dropping just beneath the elf's blade to avoid being hit, but in doing do left its rear up in the air. A fact that Rohan sought to take advantage of as he dropped down then rolled forward and diagonally to the right of the wolf in a display of uncanny agility for someone as tall as he. As he performed the roll, a cloud of dust gathered about him, and when he came back up to a crouching position, the human lashed out with a small blade that looked to be fashioned from solid stone. The surprise move caught the wolf on its side. Undeterred by the hit, the lupine turned her head to snap at Kytynna.

The wolf's fang sank into Kyt's left leg, but was unable to lock its jaws on it. The elf managed to once again avoid being taken off her feet, blood flowed freely from her wound, which would hamper any move she made for the duration of this fight. She felt a strange tingle run through her leg, the nerves seemingly on fire.

Seeing his companion reeling from the wolf's offensive, Nyym raised his shortbow and quickly fired off an arrow. But in his haste, the half-drow's shot wasn't properly aimed at the target, impacting with a thud into the dirt in front of it.

Sara looked back at Patrol Sergeant Frum, then back at Team Ruby. It only took a moment for the half-orc blacksmith to come to a decison, but once she committed to it, she went all in. With a defiant snarl, Sara came in, her hammer high overhead.

Sara's Smithy Hammer attack: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (3) + 11 = 14

The half-orc brought the head of the hammer down on top of the wolf's head with surprising precision and enough force drive it through the skull and into the dirt.

Rohan doesn't even have time to respond to the fall of the wolf, as a immediate surge takes over his entire body. He falls to the ground on one knee and his other hand on his chest while another supports him from hitting face first into the ground as he grasp for the breathe of air that seems to escape his lungs. Unsure of the current rush of power flowing through him he immediately expended a point of burn to ignite his Flesh of stone for the first time, a defense associated with the call to the earth. His feet grasped deeply into the ground from the earth walk ability allow him to firmly plant himself deep within the ground for better footing.

It wasn't but a few moments letter that he looked up at the rest of the group, his body covered with a thick layer of dark gray stone, mixing and matching the colors of earth tones. His body didn't physically change, just a coating over him, though when he started to stand, his massive towering 7'11 resembled that of stone giant for the first time, though he was unaware of his appearance. He shook his head at this point the flesh had turned to stone and nothing fell off, though his strange appearance made it look completely indifferent to a human.

"The threat is no more, we must make haste to the sanctuary for both Sgt Frum and kyt, they both appear to be in bad shape."

Rohan looked about the area spotting Nyym scanning for danger, though he assumed since the man ran away that danger was evaded for now. Seeing the wolf fall, Liesel-Marie wheels around and moves to stand over the unconscious patrol sergeant. After a moment, she lets her fury subside and she draws in great gulps of air as the adrenaline leaves her system. The greataxe sags slightly, but she holds it ready to respond to an attack.

She glances back at Rohan when it appears that the coward did truly run away to say something, but the words leave her mind as she stares at his transformation. "Wow... Um, Rohan, are you feeling all right? I mean, is that normal?"

I don't believe her new level would trigger any visible changes, but she's going to be more formidable in the next fight between new hit points and hit points I've been cheating her out of. Weapon attunement is a nice perk, as well.

There is no sign of your cowardly ambusher. The plain man is well and truly gone.

Sara looked first to Rohan, then to Liesel-Marie, her moving but no words would come out. Like the Erutaki, the half-orc looked visibly drained from her exertions in the fight.

Razkiv, Rohan's correct. We can talk once we get to Sanctuary. She walked over to the prone form of the patrol sergeant, scooped him up, then made her way with Frum over to the abandoned cart. At least the coward was considerate enough to leave us this. After setting Frum down in the cart, the half-orc turned back to the others.

Rohan is it? You help the elf. Liesel-Marie, lets gather those wolf corpses and put them in the back. Can't leave them laying about to rot in the sun, plus we can have the priests at Sanctuary take a look at them. Something about those wolves didn't seem right to me.

After everything is done and the group is moving once again toward Sanctuary...

Once the temple of Iomedae was in view, Sara Morninghawk called for Liesel-Marie. Here, take over pushing this cart for me. When the two switched places, the half-orc ran ahead to the building where she began pounding on the doors. Open up! she yelled. We've got wounded incoming!

Moments later, the temple doors swung wide and Casia, along with a few others of the clergy, all wearing leather bags slung over their shoulders, rushed out to meet the injured party. With them were Katrezra and Agrit, the latter bearing a look of worry. What happened? Are you hurt?

Ambush, and no, I'm not hurt, dear. Sara elaborated further. Someone we thought was helping us to get Frum here turned out to be a no good bushwhacker. Didn't even have the decency to face us himself. He just set loose those dogs and hightailed it out of there. The half-orc pointed at the corpses lying on the ground after the priests removed the patrol sergeant from the cart. Casia tended to the members of Team Ruby.

Sword-sister, called out an acolyte. His breathing sounds really bad. We should get him inside.

Casia nodded, then turned her attention back to those under her care. Noting that the others in the group were unharmed, she focused her ministrations on Kyt, kneeling down beside her and reaching into the satchel she wore to produce bandages, bottles, and vials. The seer stood over her. She was bitten, I see.

Yes, agreed Casia, though she seemed a bit surprised that the old half-orc would state something so plainly obvious.

For his part, Katrezra merely shrugged before shuffling over to where the wolf corpses lay and began examining them.

Katrezra's Survival check: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (19) + 8 = 27

After a moment of deliberation, the seer spoke. From what I can tell, these wolves were poisoned. He stood up and gestured with a cane that he'd been leaning on. Whoever did it was pretty clever. And cruel. They probably had all the signs of being rabid, too. But each of these poor animals have small puncture wounds on their stomachs, indicating something was injected into them.

So what does that mean for the elf? asked Sara while swatting away the hands of Agrit, who was checking her for injuries. She was bitten twice during the fight.

From what I can tell, these animals lost more blood than they should have based on the wounds they have, most likely a side-effect of whatever toxin was used on them. If it was designed to induce a state similar to mad dog disease, then its possible that the poison could be transmitted like the disease itself.

Casia nodded and immediately began applying some of the alchemical blood cleansers and specialized antitoxins to Kytynna's wounds. When she was done, the priestess held the bandage roll just above the elf's ankle and uttered, Ascending spica.

The bandage unrolled, securing itself at the joint by a couple of circular turns and then alternately passed over and under the limb, roughly resembling the figure '8' with each double turn. When it had finished its task, Casia made a snipping motion, and the roll detached from the binding and dropped, landing in the priestess' awaiting hand.

Blessed Maiden of Valor, reward this woman, who sought to bear the heavy burden of justice and honor upon her shoulders. Fortify her body with the strength to purge the affliction that incubates inside.

As when she was in Aodhán's room, a solitary shaft of light pierced through the overcast sky at her call, bathing Kytynna in its radiance.

Casia's caster level check: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (9) + 5 = 14

The elf could feel warmth flooding through her body. Whatever aches and pains she experienced left her, and in their wake, she felt better than she ever had before.

Casia, however, was not yet done. She lightly touched Kyt's calf. Blessed Maiden, let my hands be the vessel of your healing grace.

Cure Moderate Wounds: 2d8 + 5 ⇒ (2, 2) + 5 = 9

Kytynna's injuries melted away, leaving no sign that she had even been wounded in the first place.

Casia repacked her satchel and rose to her feet. She turned to head back inside, paused with a thoughtful expression, then removed the well-worn bag from her shoulder and laid it at the elf's feet. Take this, and use it well. Go forth, knowing that the righteous weight you bear allows for the weak to grow strong and the meek to be brave.

Team Ruby has received a healer's satchel. It contains a collection of continually renewing bandages, medicines, and herbs. This acts as a healer’s kit, except spent uses are renewed every day, so the wielder can expend up to 10 uses in any 24-hour period. When the wielder expends 2 uses from a healer’s satchel to treat deadly wounds with the Survival skill, add the Wisdom bonus (if any) to the amount of hit points restored, and if you exceed the DC by 5 or more, add 2 × the Wisdom bonus (if any) to the amount restored. The wielder also gains a +4 circumstance bonus on Survival checks when expending uses of the healer’s satchel to treat poisons and provide first aid (this does not stack with the normal +2 circumstance bonus granted for using a healer’s kit).

Rohan looks back to the group and Liesel, and as they quickly walked to the sanctuary with Kyt in his arms escorting her. He spoke along the journey:

"Yes, my transformation is indeed normal, a ground breaking enhancement through the enlightened powers of the earth flowing through me. It nothing to give fear of, only benefits that have thicken my skin to the strength of stone. A blessing of the earth grace upon me."

Once they made it to the sanctuary and the members received there healing, a since of relief came over him to see the signs of his members regain life and strength. Feeling overly protective of his fellow party members, it was something he couldn't help.

"Great, I am glad to see you all are feeling better, I was worried you may become increasing ill if medical attention wasn't immediate."

A few moments later he listened to the response of Katrezra inspection of the wolves and gave word of there poisoned bodies.

"I am not sure the meaning of this, or the reason of the attack, but it seems to me that there target was Sgt Frum, and information he could inform us about could be highly valuable. Speaking of, how is he fairing Casia?

He looked to the priestess for a response.

"I am not sure the meaning of this, or the reason of the attack, but it seems to me that there target was Sgt Frum, and information he could inform us about could be highly valuable. Speaking of, how is he fairing Casia?

He looked to the priestess for a response.

Before the priestess could respond, Sara spoke up. While there might be some truth to what you say, I highly doubt it. Reaching beneath her apron, the blacksmith produced the empty bottle of booze that had been on top of the tower, then continued speaking. My wife taught me that no more assumptions should be made than are necessary. Agrit nodded sagely at this.

Katrezra snorted derisively. I know he isn't exactly fond of half-orcs in general, and me in particular.

Sara shrugged. He never gave me any problems.

Probably because he knew she'd flatten his face with her fist if he did, Agrit added in an aside to Liesel-Marie.

Please, said Casia, raising her hands in an attempt to keep the mood calm. You may see him yourselves if you're willing to wait for those treating him to finish. My understanding is that his injuries were a bit more severe than hers. The priestess gestured toward Kyt before continuing. If your duties won't allow for that at this time, you are always welcome to come back later.

After running back to retrieve the rope, Nyym rushes down to catch up with the group at Sanctuary. He can't help but feel that they are close to a break though on the investigation since someone was so brasin as to attack them in the open.

I don't know what ur game is but you have tipped ur hand. I will be watching for you.

Nyym catches up with the group as they make it to sanctuary. Although several members are talking.. Nyym can't help but be lost in his own thoughts. He is pulled from his thoughts by Rohons mention that he believes Sgt. Frum was the target...

I believe Frum was a victim of his own clumsiness. There was no indication of anyone else on the tower. Plus if they had wanted to be rid of him they would not have tied a rope to his belt. I believe the target of the attack was us. We are close to something and someone is getting nervous. While I was up on the wall after the Patrol Sgt was lowered. I saw several buildings with the white swords and crosses painted on them as well as on the tower where we found Frum. I also believe that our assassin has shown himself to us. They said those wolves were poisoned. Plus the coward to something to render himself invisible. We will see him again I am sure. But next time we must not let him get away. He attacks from the shadows and seams to have a nack for potions and poisons. It is also my belief that if we wish to uncover more we will have to split up. We have to many leads to follow and because of the attack, very little time to do so.

Nyym looks up at the overcast sky then back to the group.

It will be raining soon. What ever we are gonna do. We need to do it quickly lest we lose any clues that might be washed away with the storm.

With that said Nyym returns to his thoughts going over what they have learned and everything that has happened thus far. Then he turns to Councelor Morninghawk.

Councelor, I found this map while checking into the issue with the half orcs over at Cham's place. While I was on the tower I saw markings on these buildings Nyym points to each location where he saw the white swords/crosses. I believe these buildings have been marked for a purpose. Unfortunately I have yet been able to ascertain as to what yet. But it's almost as if they might be looking for something. I also believe now that the murder might also be tied to it. Seams that anyone that does any digging into the matter becomes the subject of an attack. he looks back to the rest of team Ruby. We must be on our guard. The assassin is still out there. We must remain vigilant in our pursuit of him for he will strike again.

"I believe that you are right Nyym, and the fact that he was tied off does show a oddity in the attempt of assassination, though luck could be a saving grace for Sgt Frum fall. I am wondering about these white Swords and the crosses painted on buildings, what do they mean, why are they there? This doesn't seem to make since. The attack could have been against us and not Sgt Frum because we are closing in on something even more important which is still to be determined. Actually that reminds me."

Rohan spoke rather fast as though he was unsure of all the stuff going on, rocking his 13 Int he remembers additional information, the journal for Rodrick. He immediately pulled from his book and turned quickly to the page that brought the most interest to him, reading for the first time to the group aloud.

"How I wish I could divulge my fears and hopes to my beloved Brinya. The risk is too great, of course — I would hate to implicate her in the dire scheme I’ve only just started to unravel. Not to mention how much I fear her ire over my loss of the hopeknife she gifted me. What a fool I have been these past few weeks. I still haven’t found the hopeknife, and whoever’s making the replacement at Clamor is certainly taking her time. Katrezra was oddly quiet when I met with him today. When I asked for his thoughts, he told me to leave him be, and to give up my foolish investigation altogether. He was so supportive of my mission until now — what could have changed his heart so? Katrezra’s visions of the Plague House have been getting more frequent as the days go on. He claims “something wicked lurks beneath the ashes of the past.” I’m fearful of what his strange dreams portend, but I must investigate the Plague House ruins once again. Tonight is Ruby’s hopeknife ceremony; tomorrow I will search the ashes once more. Katrezra has recommended he hold onto my journal for safekeeping, and while I am hesitant to part with my writings for even a moment, I know his logic is sound.

Once completed reading he paused for just a second to catch his breath as he was speaking almost hastily, trying to rush this information out while all the important people were present.

"I don't know for sure but The plague house ruins seems like a really important place to investigate, and since it is a ruins I would recommend that we all attend that place as a group. With any luck it could be the place the assassian ran off to and perhaps we could get the jump on him... Nyym did the crosses lead anywhere like a direction or something?"

Rohan had so many questions, while his intelligence could handle the information it seemed as though there more information here then was needed and perhaps some of the information was crossing into others to allow confusion. At this point in time Rohan stopped and listened to the group and tried to take in all the information and consolidate it.

"I would like make a knowledge check to see if any or all of this information gathered is for one situation or multiple scenarios. Basically attempting to see if I can align anything of similar interest. Going to use my methodical ability to roll knowledge at DC up to 20 with my amazing +1"

Knowledge Making sense of relevant information: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4
Trips: 3d10 ⇒ (2, 3, 3) = 8

Apparently even with the gods his side the information was confounding Rohan with to much unsorted details. His mind just couldn't grasp what he needed to make since of it all. Though he gets lost in a trance for a few moments while he attempted to make since of all the details.

Nyym thought back to his study of the locations with the marks on them.

As of yet I have not been able to establish a definant pattern. It wasn't till I was on the tower that I was able to see the marks I saw. There could yet still be more. But those were all I saw.

Nyym looks at the map again just to be sure of his findings. Also looking to see if the buildings marked had any similarity or common factors that would make them stand out other then the marks. Also taking into account the positioning of said marks.

All of the locations (including the tower) have one factor in common. See if you can spot it.

Based on the information that is provided, it would appear that Stone is a key factor to all the places. IE Largest Rock, Stone Floor, and Rock Face in Italics. However other then that I don't seem to spot much else. Perhaps key places of interest in the city.

There could be something to what you're thinking... but then again, maybe not. ;) Regardless, at this time, I can neither confirm nor deny anything. Nyym asked if there were common factors, so I gave him what he asked for. What you all do with that information is totally up to the members of the group. The only thing I can do is provide information based on the context of presentation. You determine how helpful it is (or isn't).

With the exception of the commonest all seam to be facing in an easterly direction. All are marked on some type of stone. And of the areas marked, depending on the time of day, 3 of the areas would have the highest number of the population in those areas. Also with the exception of the commons floor. All others are marked about the night of the town buildings.. We need to investigate farther if we are to figure this out. But we must not compromise our investigation into Rodricks murder. But I am of the feeling that the 2 might also be connected. It would seem that Plague house is our next option one we have spoken with Frum if he is able to speak.

Agreed, lets wait for Sgt Frum to awaken, unless it is going to be a while and make our move towards the Plague House, it seems as though there is a lot we need to discover there.

He looked around the group and then directly at Nyym and Katrezra.

"Katrezra what do you know of the Plague House since Rodrick makes mention of you in his journal?

"Katrezra, please describe your visions. And tells us why you asked Rodrick to leave you be on his last visit. Had you seen something you didn't wish to share with the man?"

I have completely unfounded suspicions regarding the crosses, but none of them are reasonable conclusions for the Erutaki warrior to have reached, so I shall not share them. And they diverge wildly - they cannot all be true and, as such, would only confusion the issue, anyway.

Looking at Team Ruby, she adds, "Depending on Frum's condition, I don't know that we dare wait for him to awaken. I think we need to keep moving. We seek a crafty old wolf on this hunt and if we give him too much time, he will go to ground and we will have more trouble finding him. We must have been close enough to cause him concern to have him come out of hiding to attack us. We must continue to press him."
