DM Bigrin |
OK, ladies and gentlemen, welcome aboard.
Please take this time to create your character profiles (if you haven't done so already) and make sure everything is accurate.
The next step is some ground rules.
1) I'd like to keep this campaign moving. I expect each of you to check the campaign at least once per day (as needed, excepting weekends). If you cannot post for more than 48 hours, please let me know in this thread so I can NPC your character or hold the story as necessary. On a related note, keep your sheets up to date at all times...especially immediately following a combat update. If I need to DMPC you for any reason, I want to make sure I have all available info.
2) Please stay in character. I know we have a variety of alignments in the mix. You don't have to play lawful stupid, but I do expect some confrontations. That's okay, but remember that your survival and success depends on each other and perhaps some compromise (however distasteful) may be in order.
4) Please Do not read spoilers directed at other people. They contain in-game knowledge that is specific to that person. If they choose to share that, it is up to them, but I'd rather not have to fire around 40 PMs every time someone notices something that the others have missed. I'll just let you RP out the info as you choose. Occasionally I may indeed PM you info that I do not want others to know unless your character specifically chooses to tell them.
5) I'll roll all initiatives and passive checks for you guys to keep things moving. We'll do combat as: group before monsters, monsters, group after monsters. After the first round, the after and before groups will post as one chunk. I'll merge everything together for combat update purposes. If you need to wait on another character's actions before you post, please say so in this thread so no one is waiting for you and wondering what's going on.
My ultimate rules:
1) Thou shalt not engage in PVP: The goal is for everyone to have a good time, and PvP only sours everyone’s experience.
2) Thou shalt not bully other players: Again, everyone is supposed to be having a good time. Just because you CAN bully others in game doesn't mean you SHOULD. Extreme forms of character harassment will not be tolerated. By their nature, Pathfinders take in characters with various backgrounds and alignments. You still have to cooperate with each other, regardless.
3) Thou shalt keep thy character sheet updated: All the time. Period. HP, conditions, AC, modifiers, gold. If I need to DMPC your character for a fight because you haven’t posted and we need to move on, i need to know what your capabilities are. If your sheet says you have 3 hp left and you get nailed by a crossbow bolt, don’t come crying to me the next day that you really got healed to full before the combat. Keep it on your sheet. I'll keep loot on a Google doc so no one else has to keep track of what you've found.
4) Thou shalt post regularly: Taken from above, you should be posting (or at least checking to see if you need to post) at least once per day, minimum. I give leeway on weekends, since that is my family time, but still I don’t think that is too unreasonable. Short delays lead to longer delays which lead to dead threads. If you need to be gone for more than a day, let me know in advance so I can DMPC your character.
5) Thou shalt have fun: Isn't that the point?
I think that is everything from my end right now. I'll get the IC thread up in a bit.
Please feel free to ask any questions.

As an addendum to Ultimate Rule #3, please put this line in your character sheet class/levels entry, and change the relevant portions for your character:
Merciful Healer 1
This will help me keep track of things quickly for game updates. make sure to keep it current.

Wahoo! Thanks dm! I have been hoping you were going to start another game since you started shattered star!

Okay, I have good news! One of my friends who has never played a PbP or Pathfinder game before is going to be joining us. He has a lot of experience with D&D 3.5 and runs games IRL, so he's not completely unfamiliar with RPGs of this type.
It'll probably take him a bit to get used to the PbP format and how the dice roller works, but be patient. He's a great guy and I think he'll make a nice addition to our game.

When I started PBP, I had little to no help or Direction on PBP formatting and creating aliases. And it would of helped me If I knew about them.
Though I figured the Alias Part very quickly on my own. It was the PBP formatting that I did not know about, as I used to write in a screenplay manner and did not know how to format the text with the tags.Evangline Valeria Astrid |

Now that everyone is here, there is some last minute business to take care of. Occasionally, I will put spoilers in the posts. Unless they are addressed to you, or no one, please do not look. This is much easier than having to PM people all the time. Likewise, anyone who wants to tell or ask me something in private should be able to put it in a "GM" spoiler. most of this info will be meta- or personal knowledge. I don't want anyone to have the burden of meta gaming placed on them, so keep out.
See! i told you anyone can read this.

Each of you knows a few things about the Vault that you have heard along the way
No one ever gets out of the Vault of Graves alive!
The goblins of the dungeon are actually mutated giants. Although they are small and stunted in appearance, they are immensely strong.
The skeletons in the dungeon explode when you kill them. The zombies dissolve into greenish goo that can eat through anything.
A new form of troll was seen swimming in a river on the lower levels, and giving aid to goblin miners.
A demonic spider queen lurks near her pets in the lower caverns.
There is a passage filled with evil floating brains that can take over your mind. They are the secret rulers of the dungeon.
There is a goblin city below whose entrance lies unprotected.
A great priest was entombed within the complex behind a door sealed with seven seals. If released, the powers of good would be greatly aided.
A benevolent old wizard lives near the temple of Orcus. He reportedly offers refuge to those who kill the servants of the evil one.
Many back entrances to the most famous of dungeons are said to lie in the wilderness, but the hills are so riddled with caves that finding these entrances is all but impossible if one knows not where to look.
One hot, sticky summer a score of years ago, a terrible beast came out of the wilderness and fell upon the surrounding lands, razing towns and ravaging farms. It killed many of the finest warriors and baffled the most potent wizardries before finally being slain by the adventurer Mailliw Catspar and his comrades. Triumphant, these brave souls tracked it back to the Dungeon of Graves—and were never seen again.
Orcus put a curse on the complex when he built it. Any that disturb his temple will become slaves of darkness, never to return.

Updated Render of Abroshqualmie
If folks want A group render, I can do them, But I'll need Heights and a Description.
One I did for my group's KingMaker Game
If the GM wants I could make a few important NPCs
Trihedron |
Am busy, busy, busy today - don't want to hold up the action though, so I can retcon Trihedron's introduction later, if you want to move the action along - anyway, she is a Zen ARCHER, though not at all unable in melee - very good Perception and Survival.
Apologies for the meta - it's all I can rack up at the moment ;)
GO!
