This pale-skinned dwarf-like creature is a derro, a degenerate and evil creature of the underground. This result reveals all monstrous humanoid traits. Derro speak Aklo (a racial language) and Undercommon. As a race they are megalomaniacal, which gives certain bonuses to their willpower against spells. They favor the aklys, a hooked club attached to a cord, which they use to trip and bash their enemies. They are vulnerable to sunlight, and can be harmed by exposure to it.

Angelica takes the distraction of the others to hop to her feet safely, hopefully, before taking a step back forward and lashing out at the one that Jak has focused his attentions on. With the silver dagger she had in hand, she stabs hard at the blue bastard.

The little creatures ignored the mental attacks and compulsions, focusing instead on the creatures before them in melee. The one with the club took the brunt of the attacks, and curled protectively around the stab wounds in its side. A third creature stepped around the corner and a globe of darkness dropped over both Angelica and Jakscar. The changeling had no difficulties seeing through the spell, but the catfolk was flat-footed and stumbling in the absolute dark. Fortunately, for Jakscar, the creatures were too much in pain to aim their weapons adequately.

You might have missed it, but I moved to AP-35 in the last round.

As it so happens, I do have darkvision.

Shabbezz curses herself for her hastiness. Derro! Using spells would be an uphill battle on the resistant buggers.

With reluctance, she drew her crossbow and cocked a bolt. At least she could see through the magically-created darkness; now all she had to do was hit what she was aiming at.

Draw light crossbow as a move action.

Load crossbow with a silver bolt (1 of 10) with a second move action.

Unfortunately with the press of bodies in the corridor the wizard finds that she cannot aim properly. She decides to elbow past Harbug and step into the area of darkness for a better shot.

A third move action in place of a standard action to move to AS-35 for a better shot on the next round.

Noticing the change in the light, Angelica remains not bothered by it, always having had really great eyesight in the dark. She knows that it will be a problem for the others, so she refrains from breaking the front rank she helps maintain, despite how much she wants to get into a more beneficial position for stabbing. She lashes out with the blade, before following up with a swipe of her sharp nails right at the little blue bugger's face.

The dark and the close confines contributed to some fairly ineffective attacks, but Angelica managed a double punch of dagger and claw that left the wounded derro stretched out on the floor. The other jabbed at her with its spear, but the nimble rogue ducked aside. The cold in her breast burned as the poison continued to make its way through her system.

A voice from the darkness called, and those with darkvision saw a female derro chanting something. As she flung her hands towards the group a loud cacophony rang out, the hideously loud sound echoing off the stone walls and driving shards of pain into everyone's head.

Round 3-4:

Angelica owes me another Fort save (in addition to the one I asked for above. DC 13 or take 1d6 ⇒ 2 cold damage and be staggered for 1 round.

Everyone takes 3 damage and must make a DC 14 Fort save to avoid being stunned for 1 round.

Angelica grits her teeth and grunts against the pain of the toxic whatever plaguing her, but she manages to fight past it and ignore the worst of it.

Then the one in the back starts casting, she's about to call out to the others, then there is a sudden ringing in her ears. She can only blink as stuff happens around her, and she can't seem to clear her head of the sound. Her silver blade falls limp from her hand.

I would like the construct to attack my targets/defend me, but I haven't seen any commands work yet, so I'm uncertain what I can tell it. I don't know if it acts at all of its own volition.

Gods, that stung! Shabbezz's barely-existent ears were ringing, but she managed to shrug off the worst of the sonic attack. Instead she drew a bead on the offender from around the catfolk and let fly with a bolt.

Clicking and shirring, the clockwork spider sensed Angelica's distress as she took the full effects of the cacophony of sound. It rushed forwards, trying to knock down the white-haired female, who nimbly dodged away. The woman made to cast another spell and Harbug's prepared response went off. The derro shook her head, a small trickle of blood coming from her left ear, then continued casting. Jakscar felt a buzz in his mind, numbing his faculties, and he struggled to throw it off, causing his blind strike at Angelica's foe to miss wide.

Sorry, I was traveling recently and it took longer to arrive than I expected.

With Angelica's automaton now engaged in combat with the female Ferro, Shabbez decides to change targets and fire at the remaining male.

Standard action to fire the crossbow at the derro at AU-36. There is a +4 penalty on the attack roll fore firing into melee. The derro gets a +4 bonus to AC because Angelica's body provides him with soft cover.

The darkness seemed to be foiling everyone's attacks, gaining the derros more time to position themselves. As Harbug stepped forward, the derro with the spear jabbed him in the leg. A cold numbness spread from teh site of the injection, causing the orc to stumble. A second attack lanced into his side, again spreading the poison.

The little construct smashed into the female derro, knocking her backwards. She stepped away and cast her spell again, this time aimed at Harbug, who was forced to turn his mind from the freezing pain to find the numbness clouding his mind. Both derros began shouting in their language, likely an attempt to summon aid.

Round 5-6:

Harbug takes 5 damage and must make a DC 13 Fort or take 1 cold damage and be staggered for 1 round.

Shabbezz's wide eyes narrowed to slits, as she sighted down the end of her crossbow at the derro up ahead. Her darkvision let her see through the gloom, but the press of bodies in the corridor and her own lack of martial skill was working against her aim.

She took a step to the left, and fired from around Angelica.

Zaphomil shakes his head as he tries to see anything going on in that wall of shadow. He can hear the continuing sounds of battle, but there is little he can accomplish at this point. When he hears the shrieking sounds of the enemy calling for aid, he throws up his hands in frustration.
Still waiting on a call for help. Since I don't want to heal the derro, I'll hold off channeling until I hear he drops.

The darkness continued to stymie your efforts as all attacks on the spear wielder missed. The derro cackled and thrust out at Jakscar, but the blundering cat somehow managed to avoid the blow. Angelica's construct pushed forward and slammed into the female derro, delivering a battering blow, but taking one from the woman's club in return, the ancient armor now dented badly. Harbug managed to gain some relief from the wound in his side, though the cold poison still spread through his body.

Angelica grows frustrated at the darkness, not for her own sake as much as how it is affecting the others. She wants to go help Buddy and Harbug against the chick in the back, but she knows she's the only real thing standing between this front one and the three other members of the group. Instead, she continues to flail her talons ineffectively at the one in front of her, so decides to try and ease her way around him.

Still unable to see, Jakscar closes his eyes and focuses. Imagining he is training, he strikes where he knows it will cut deeply,feeling his shorter blade being parried.

Despite the fact that Angelica and Harbug have no problems seeing in the darkness, apparently their minds are fixated on the fact that a globe of magical darkness surrounds them, for they both miss their strikes against their opponents. Jakscar, is blinded anew by the pair of glowing blue-white missiles that flash by him to strike the derro before him and Angelica. Closing his eyes, the catfolk strikes where he remembered the creture's head to be. His blades cut into the derro's neck, and he smiles a feline grin as he hears the thud of a body falling to the stone floor.

The construct tried to slam the female derro to the ground, but the agile figure twisted away and hit it with her club, deepening the dent in its back.

From around the corner came a roar as a hideous creature stumbled into view. Stiched together from multiple creatures, it looked like a combination of troll, troglodyte, spider, and dwarf, with a few other parts thrown in for good measure. The stench rolling off of it made everyone gag as it shambled into the darkness to confront you.

Round 7-8:

Harbug must make a DC 15 Fort or take 4 cold damage and be staggered for 1 round.

Everyone must make a DC 12 Fort save or be sickened for 1 round.
