Calla stepped back and fired. Her shaking hands couldn't hold the bow steady and she missed with both shots. The demon smiled wickedly and extended its claws, moving in for the kill. Suddenly, Anklebiter chanted and a stream of magical missiles blasted into the babau. The demon howled in agony and fell to the roof, slipping through one of the many holes and into the building below.
On the ground, Lefrik followed the babaus, stepping inside their longspear reach to batter his way through one of their defenses. Concentrating on the same target, the lantern archon and Bruendor also hit that demon, opening large wounds in its hardened acid-coated skin. Kelendra stepped up behind Lefrik and her healing helped the barbarian feel a little better about his choices in life.
The longspears spoke again in their red language, driving fresh wounds over the recently healed ones, and Lefrik once more felt weakened from blood loss. These things needed to be dealt with quickly before his will failed him completely.

Lefrik's blows were weak as blood streamed from his many wounds. Barely standing, he still pressed the fight, distracting the babaus so that Bruendor cound strike from behind with impunity. And strike he did. One of the last two babaus wailed in agony as Bruendor's dagger found a soft spot in its chitinous skin and the vital organs beneath. It jerked like a landed fish a few times and then fell to the ground, its acidic slime covering withering the plants underneath.
Kelendra rushed forward to bolster Lefrik's health once more, barely keeping up with the incoming wounds. Anklebiter and his archon managed to damage the final babau slightly, and the thing's evil glare made the goblin squeak in fright. Almost casually, the creature lashed out at Lefrik with a pair of quick strikes, undoing all of the healing that Kelendra had worked for.

The lantern archon chirps and chimes with consternation - and then sends out a pulse of light that bathes Lefrik in benevolent radiance. Some of the Barbarian's wounds close up and Lefrik feels a new confidence fill him!

Calla - Good as in did it hit? Sure. Good as in duid it kill it? Not even close. But I think your damage numbers are wrong. Bow crits are x3, so I'm thinking you should add another 2d6 in there. Also, is your bane still active?

In desperation, the company tries to kill the babau before it can kill Lefrik. In the whirling combat, Lefrik's woozy state left him unable to connect with the demon, though both Bruendor and Calla got off some good strikes. The lantern archon, pulsing with light, moved in to aid Lefrik, taking a clanging strike from the babau in the process, though the blow didn't seem to affect it at all. Lefrik's wounds closed slightly as the archon's magics took effect, then even more as Kelndra's spell healed the worst of the new wounds. The demon lashed out at Lefrik again, though the new pair of arrows sticking from his chest kept the second strike from landing. Lefrik groaned as the blow landed, his torso now a solid sheet of liquid red.

The demon was hard-pressed as the companions pressed their numerical advantage. Fighting alone, it was subject to the dancing whirls of Bruendor's fighting style, as well as arrows shot from afar and mighty blows from Lefrik. It wheeled and turned, trying to stave off the attacks, but still it bled from a dozen wounds. It jabbed again at Lefrik, trying to bring the mighty barbarian down. The man took another blow to the side, but ignored it as he pressed the attack.

The babau, caught between Lefrik and Bruendor, kept up a good fight, but it was outmatched and it knew it. In desperation it turned Bruendor's strikes, and some of Lefrik's, but the barbarian's axe crashed into it, followed shortly by a pair of arrows from Calla. The hated cold iron burned in its chest, and the demon coughed up some of the acidic ichor its kind used for blood. It fell to the ground and you stood around looking at the fallen, knowing that that fight came close to killing at least three of you. Life choices, indeed.
Looking around, you find a bag that was obviously dropped by one of the demons. Inside, you find a goodly amount of treasure that the demons had been collecting.
Wow, I thought for sure that someone was gonna die in that one! Good job.
