He dashes forwards and thrusts at the pig, hoping to drive it away before it can charge him. "Hurry up, up there! Saul's trying to escape through a secret door in the pit!" Bojask reels from the piercing howl, clapping his free hand to his ear, which had a small trickle of blood coming out of it. The man's eyes were unfocused and he was obviously having a hard time clearing his head.

Bruendor charged the boar in front of him, wanting to get the first strike in before those razor sharp tusks could get at him. His rapier thrust true and deep, piercing one of the pig's lungs. The beast thrashed at him, but Bruendor was quicker than he looked and the strike caught only the trailing edge of his cloak. Kwava, seeing the blockage at the doorway to the arena, turned back to follow Bruendor down and lend him what aid he could.

In the arena, Saul finished clearing off the sand over the large heavy trapdoor, revealing a large keyhole. He jammed the key set into the stump of his arm into the lock and twisted. The mechanism released with a scratchy rasp - evidently some of the sand had gotten into it - and Saul began struggling to lift the heavy trapdoor.

Bruendor stabbed Pigsaw through with his rapier, then tumbled over the pig as it tried to slash at him with its tusks. Bouncing off the bristle-covered back, he came to his feet on the other side. The boar turned to slash at him again and Kwava sent a pair of arrows straight into its heart. The pig grunted and tried to continue its attack, but its legs folded underneath it. The bulk came to rest on the floor by Bruendor's feet as Kwava nocked another arrow and sprinted around the corner.

Lefrik's blow slammed Bojask to the ground, bleeding from a deep gash in his side. The big barbarian leaped over the low railing into the pit to land beside Saul as the small man struggled with the heavy trapdoor. The others also threw themselves over the railing to land in the sand beside Lefrik.

Maybe it's a panic room, and maybe it's an escape route. Way I see it, we have more to lose than to gain if we try to pursue tonight. If Saul had anything or anyone else to throw against us, he'd have used it. This was his last line of escape. The weight was off, and something was making a sliding noise, though he had emptied the drawer. A few moments prodding and poking, and Bruendor found a small catch. Releasing it popped open a small compartment with a ring of keys.

    Male Goblin Wizard 13 (Abjurer); Init +2; Fly 40 ft.; Darkvision 60 ft,; Perception +5; AC 25 (touch 14, flatfooted 16; +2 Dex., +1 size, +1 natural, +4 armour, +4 shield, +3 deflection, hp 91; Fort +10;Ref +10;Will +13

Anklebiter follows after Bruendor, still clutching his scroll in case of danger.

    Male(HP:(198; DR 2(3 when raging);AC:22/12/22;F+17,R+8,W+9;Init +0;Per +15) Human (Ulfen) Barbarian 13

"So Saul gets away, probably popping out of some OTHER Door elsewhere ... bah... we were so close." Lefrik follows, clearly frustrated.

    HP 150/155, AC 26/13/24, F +14, R +15, W +6, Init +2, Per +16 (+19 traps)

Bruendor smiled as he pulled out the key ring with the blade of the dagger. "Hello, beautiful. I wondered where you were hiding when we broke in here last time." Returning his attention to the cabinets, he pulled the rest of the papers out, starting with the ones that were ciphered in Old Azlant. "Alright, Anklebiter - you broke the code once before. This should be quick work now. These are our best clues on what the hell Saul's been up to with the Goblin, and they'll give us a lead on his mystery backer. Find that backer, and we know where Saul's fled to."
