A foul omen looms in the sky over the scoundrel city of Riddleport, an ominous shadow that defies the light. Is it a curse laid millennia ago by forgotten mages? Does it forewarn against the return of some terrible foe? Or does it portend a terrible

If it's a boy, Lefrik will teach him how to fight, wench, and drink!

If it's a girl, Lefrik will begin killing boys her age that get too close as she hits her teen years and up

It's the traditional barbarian method of fathering IIRC :)

I haven't gotten the pdf yet as I wait for the module to ship, but my poltergeist knot is now official!

As for reagents, I was wondering if we can basically pay for a supply of supplies so we don't have to get them when you find a new spell you want to copy down. Basically pay in advance. Is that kosher?

Sweet! I am excited for you.

Okay, I made a mistake, and it kind of needs to be addressed now. You see, I forgot to tell you...

Level up! You are now level 6. Make your adjustments in the Discussion thread as we move into the next scene.

Also, since you roll initiatives, GM, please don't forget her Lookout feat (which is now permanent):

If you would normally be denied the ability to act in the surprise round, your initiative is equal to your initiative roll or the roll of your ally –1, whichever is lower. If both you and your ally would be able to act in the surprise round without the aid of this feat, you may take both a standard and a move action (or a full-round action) during the surprise round.(Permanent Bonus teamwork feat)

Tough choice here. Rogue 6, or Ranger 1? The original Bruendor I played in Living Greyhawk was pure rogue, but it makes a great deal of sense to grab a level of ranger for Favored Enemy (elf), weapon/armor proficiencies, a bonus to Fort saves, weapon/armor proficiencies, Tracking...

You know, I think I talked myself into Ranger. I'll get on that tonight.

RPG Superstar 2014 Top 16, RPG Superstar 2012 Top 16

Honestly, I love rogues, but I think mechanically they get a little boring as time goes on. I've got an 11th-level rogue in another game, and there are only so many talents to take...

Saves: +2 to Fort (new total +6), +2 to Ref (new total +9)
Skills: +1 Acrobatics, +1 Climb, +1 Disable Device, +1 Perception, +1 Sense Motive, +1 Stealth, +1 Survival.
Class Features:
Favored enemy: humanoid (elf) (SURPRISING NO ONE)
Track: small bonus to Survival tests (I figure I'll be able to assist Calla)
Wild Empathy: minute chance to dissuade orcas from eating Lefrik that I'll probably never use

DM Bigrin: I hope you'll have a good time. ^^

Lefrik: I hope the pain of loss will not eclipse the warmth of the good memories. It may be a cliché, but we need to pack in those memories and cherish them, since we know our friends won't be with us as long as other humans (provided all goes well).

I think Lefrik and Anklebitter both are united in their distaste for Kaerishiel :)

Male Goblin Wizard 13 (Abjurer); Init +2; Fly 40 ft.; Darkvision 60 ft,; Perception +5; AC 25 (touch 14, flatfooted 16; +2 Dex., +1 size, +1 natural, +4 armour, +4 shield, +3 deflection, hp 91; Fort +10;Ref +10;Will +13

Sure thing, but let's not kill him yet. ;)

I'm getting this odd vibe that maybe Kaerishiel isn't the biggest problem here... Just a hunch, but as we've all noticed, the kind of "military planning" we have going on here is on the weak side. And what kind of Elven army doesn't have small-team tactics? o_õ

You can bet the Drow have small teams for scouting, sabotage and assassination. Only a fool does not adapt to enemy tactics, or indeed adapt enemy tactics for their own use -- the tactics that aren't heinously evil, that is.

Give me a break. I'm not a tactical genius and the story is a little vague here.

Male Goblin Wizard 13 (Abjurer); Init +2; Fly 40 ft.; Darkvision 60 ft,; Perception +5; AC 25 (touch 14, flatfooted 16; +2 Dex., +1 size, +1 natural, +4 armour, +4 shield, +3 deflection, hp 91; Fort +10;Ref +10;Will +13

Sorry! ^^; I thought the tactics were straight out of the module!

I honestly didn't mean to insult you. o_o;

No, I know it is weak. There's a plot hole a truck could drive through. This is just one of my weaknesses as a GM, trying to get you to overlook the gaping lack of intelligence and just blindly take the outpost.

1 person marked this as a favorite.

"And lo, it is written in the Great Book of Elf that we were schooled in small-team tactics by a Dwarf, a Goblin, a human and two Half-Elves, and this won us back our ancient city.

...

And that is why this chapter is not for public viewing."

Male(HP:(198; DR 2(3 when raging);AC:22/12/22;F+17,R+8,W+9;Init +0;Per +15) Human (Ulfen) Barbarian 13

My apologies as well, Bigrin.

Lefrik will do it, of course.

Just someone remind him not to burn after he pillages. It's kind of habitual for some Ulfen ;)

I think the next Bane-quality I add to our arsenal should be Demonbane.

It won't be cheap and it'll take some time, but I think it'd be worth our while if I make all our main weapons both Elfbane and Demonbane. Any thoughts?

Half-Elf (Chelaxian) Female HP 109, AC 26/18/21, F +13*, R +11*, W +15*, Init +8, Per +22 Inquisitor 13

I think those'd be some badass weapons... Can probably hold off on Calla's weapons for a bit, as she does have bane ability via her class features.

Yeah. We have a gas fireplace and water heater. It got down to 58 degrees in the house, but we just piled on blankets. Made a cool snowman and went sledding. Cooked meals in a cast iron skillet over the fire. Kids whined about no TV, but we had fun anyways.

I read that, AB. Sad news, though at 82, not unexpected. I almost tracked down a copy of Star Trek II to say goodbye to the man, but someone linked to the "funeral at sea" scene on my FB, which is really what I needed to see from the film.
