A foul omen looms in the sky over the scoundrel city of Riddleport, an ominous shadow that defies the light. Is it a curse laid millennia ago by forgotten mages? Does it forewarn against the return of some terrible foe? Or does it portend a terrible

Never abandon a Goblin who's actually saved you from becoming Barbarian fillet on two occasions already. If nothing else, he's your ticket into the Guinness Book of Records! :p
if allowed, then I'll move this to the gameplay thread...
Round 5.1, AC 22, HP 13/17
Kel runs straight onto the stage in the center of Golden Goblin. She stands at the front of the stage (Q14), making both a spectacle and target of herself, and shouts at the archers and bouncers.
"We found Saul's hidden treasure, a chest full of golden profits, we'll give you 10 times whatever Saul paid you!"
Bluff: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (8) + 9 = 17
Then Kel will activate her last Moonlight Bridge, creating a glittering bridge of pure moonlight that leads directly from the edge of the stage to Bruendor.
Not sure what my posting status will be for the next week or so. I was originally supposed to go on vacation to D.C. Monday through Wednesday, which might have limited my posting (though I'd probably still be able to check in at least once a day). Now that trip is up in the air thanks to Stormageddon: The Rainening.
Anyway, if I'm home I may have lots of free time to post. Unless I lose power, in which case I won't be posting at all.
So, to sum up, I'll either be posting a lot, the normal amount or not at all in the next few days.

So... Whereto now? I don't think the Boneyard is a very healthy location to recuperate, what with all the bleeding wounds. Do we use Calla's connections to get asylum from one of the temples?
I hope everyone and their families are ok after stormageddon. Take your time getting back to a regular schedule, the important stuff comes first, take care.
What is everyone's status? Everyone make it through Frankenstorm okay? I don't want to be the heel that suggests gaming is more important than no power, no water, no gas, or no life. I just want to know how everyone is doing. It's been too quiet.
Calla was heading off to the temple to ask for sanctuary, while I think a couple folks keep an eye on the Goblin.
Of course, we haven't discussed what we plan to do tomorrow, but I assume once we're rested and recovered, we'll take another crack at the Goblin. I've got someone to kill
I think Bigrin is right that we've posted nothing definitive in the game thread, only suggestions of what we should do. I like the shelter at the temple and spy on the goblin idea, and then try to strike again quick once we're recovered, which will probably take two days to have full spell power back going into the battle.
Calla would like to buy a new whip (1 gp), 1 thunderstone (30 gp) and 2 potions of cure light wounds. (100 gp)
An elixir of hiding is 250 gp but might be worth it for Lefrik (+10 to Stealth). With that and an obscuring mist spell from Anklebiter, we should be able to get in the back door, I'd think.

*grinds teeth* I am experiencing DNS-lookup problems and have to post from my sister's. Will be able to post more extensively tomorrow. Apologies for the delay...

I've been wracking my brain as to what my best option is... How do you guys feel about my scribing some scrolls, for instance of Magic Weapon, Grease and Obscuring Mist? They take only a few hours per scroll, but they will cost...

Seeing as I'll have to ask for money from the party pot to get the materials for new scrolls, I give the floor to the rest of the party. Which spells would you like scribed most urgently? Please see my character page for the available spells.
HP 25/28, AC 15/12/13, F +4, R +5, W +2, Init +2, Per +7 (+12 traps)
Grease and Obscuring Mist are good battlefield control spells. We can get 4 scrolls made in that time. Expeditious Retreat'd be nice, but I don't think we'll want more than one of those. Obscuring Mist would be better if you could place it somewhere other than directly around yourself, so I'd say no more than one of those as well. Grease, though, is always awesome. That should be 50 gold to make, right?

Remember I need enough time to scribe, rest and re-study, too. Otherwise, I'm going to be a spent Wizard going into battle with a handful of scrolls, and seeing as I am not named Anklebiter Majere, Anklebiter Aumar or Anklebiter Ambrosius, that would probably not go too well for me... ^^;

Okay, according to the Core Rulebook, I can scribe... only one spell in one day. (p.552) Rodents...!
Right, then. I will scribe one scroll of Grease -- and I will regret not scribing many more in the days past. =_= Grrr...
In addition, I will purchase three (3) potions of Cure Light Wounds and, if possible, one scroll of Grease, two of Magic Weapon, one of Obscuring mist, one of Summon monster I, and two scrolls of Ear-piercing scream.
Oh, and also one sunrod and five tindertwigs, just in case.
With that, I should be ready to go... I'm breaking my savings on this one. ;) Now I just need to pick my spells for the big day!
The way I'm breaking down my scroll purchase:
* The two of Magic Weapon are for Bruendor and Lefrik for when we enter battle
* The two of Grease are for battlefield control
* The one of Obscuring Mist is in case we need to retreat sharpish again
* The one of Summon Monster I is to provide us with flanking benefits when the fight begins
* And the two of Ear-Piercing Scream are for me.
And the tindertwigs are in case we have no choice but to burn the joint down. >:D
