Ok, Back home finally.

With the note, you return to the stage to find Rhuul still there with Senlokto covering your absence.

Sarephta moves toward Senlokto with the others, then nods to Rhuul that his work is done.

"Your ruse is finished now," she says to the imposter as she holds her longspear to his chest. "We found the body of the real Senlokto in your basement, as well as a note from the Spider detailing your recruitment efforts here. Surrender to us at once, and we will ensure you receive a just trial."

Everything on stage comes to a grinding halt as Senlokto and all of the performers suddenly stop, looking about confused. They all look to their left and then to their right, unsure what exactly is going on. Even Senlokto seems unsure who exactly you are addressing.

Sense Motive DC 19:
Not only is it lying, it doesn't quite seem human, and seems to be trying to stall until it can figure out a plan.

Map updated. Senlokto is near Rhuul, with everything else being an actor (well, maybe not Rhuul j/k), in various disguises and performance gear, weapons, armor, and gowns. None of them seem to work together to form any kind of scene, and just appears crazy and chaotic. Well, you think they are actors at least. (dun, dun, dun)

Senlokto brings his hands out to protest his innocence and confusion, but then stops. Suddenly his form begins to waves, growing taller. His eccentric clothing melts away to reveal a man in tattered rags that where once mage robes of some ancient order. His skin begins to fall away, revealing a cunning and very intelligent looking undead mage.

Know Religion DC 15:
Liches are powerful spellcasters that have divorced their own soul from their material body to become immortal. In so doing, they have made themselves nearly unkillable, able to reappear within days, even if their body is destroyed, unless one can also find the item that their soul is locked to.

Know Religion DC 16:
This is not a Lich, but looks just like what you would have expected one to look and smell like. But why is he still breathing? And that totally wasn't an illusion that just happened. What's going on here.

Know Religion DC 20:

You guys could have just left with the evidence. . . :P

Seeing the lich appear, the crowd begins to flee. Senlokto steps away and reaches into his pouch, drawing out a smokestick and flinging it to the ground near Rhuul.

For those not on the stage already, you can either make a Acrobatics or Climb check DC 10 to climb up as part of your move, (costing you an extra 5ft of movement), or need to go around to the left up the stairs. It will also take you and extra 5ft of movement due to the stairs and the curtain, but you do not need to stop to "open the door".

There isnt anything else to follow up on that you can think of. You have discovered that The Spider has an active slave racket going on in Almas, utilizing the theater as both a front and method of gaining slaves who are picked up by another business front to be delivered to a dhampir ship for transport out of country.

Whats left is to rest and prepare for the speech against the PFS at the council. While I was travelling and on duty, I took the opportunity to reread a lot of the rules about whats comming up. Its going to involve a lot of player dialogue and evidence, so Id suggest refreshing on what you have discovered and come up with an idea on what you think is going on. Was there anything else you wanted to do here?

Still seems like not much to stand on. Is there any way we can tie the spider symbol to her? We know that the spider was using this playhouse to collect saves and then the boat and it's crew were getting them out of the city.

The corpse might help. Showing that she's using various creatures and means to complete her tasks. Perhaps we should take one more good look through the office, make sure we didn't miss anything.

If it matters, Umaro will take the time to search through the dressing room/office top to bottom, taking 20 to give him a 27.

Returning to the hidden lodge for a breather you get a good night's rest and are able to find help in gathering up the bodies. The Pathfinder Society then bribes the various actors to keep quiet, and closes the theater for a few days. On the day of the speech, you are able to attend with the other locals. The special legislative meeting that Dorianna Ouidda herself called to order begins promptly at 9 a.m. Many of the most prominent politicians in Andoran are in attendance, and rumors fly about the crowd outside the palace of the Grand Council that the Supreme Elect, Codwin the I of Augustana, may even make an appearance to hear Ouidda’s oration.

You are permitted into the upper balcony of the legislative chamber where you find several seats in the front row, overlooking the main floor. After the routine opening remarks from a court bailiff, Ouidda takes the floor and flies almost immediately into an embittered and passionate speech about the Pathfinder scourge within Almas.

"My friends. I am pleased that so many of this great nation's people have come. It feels me with pride that the common man still takes such a keen interest in the workings of freedom and justice, and have a desire to partake in this. I also extend my thanks to the legislative council for hearing me, for what news I bring is of dire importance to us. In good faith we have, for years, allowed outsiders to enjoy the bounty of Andoran's great struggle. And rightfully so, for how can others see the righteousness of our cause, of our calling without seeing for themselves. But there are those that would abuse our favor. Who would take our kindness as a sign of weakness that they might hide their filth and corruption in plane view. Twisting the knife from within so that they may find markets forbidden to others and make a strong profit."

"I speak of the Pathfinder Society. A secretive group of murderers, thugs, scoundrels, extortionists, and thieves. Many see them as heroes of sorts. Many of the young see their deeds, or read about their so-called adventures in the rare Pathfinder Chronicles, hoping to emulate them one day themselves. But these Pathfinders, they have shown us one face, but not what lies beneath it. They actively trade in slaves. They serve a secrete council and their own special laws, regardless of the lands they operate within. They do not respect the local laws, and so how can we except them to respect our laws."

"And if they do not respect out laws, how can they respect the ideals we hold dear. They have, for years, within this very city, stolen many treasures and lore from us. They have taken many from us that they knew would not be missed into the chains to be sold off in far off lands. They are directly responsible for many of the outbursts of crimes, from murder, to theft, to rape, to desecration of both our sacred temples and our hallowed grounds. When they do not perpetrate these acts themselves, they manipulate others to do so instead so that they might get away free with an even worse travesty."

"I call for a vote to purge this nation of all Pathfinder Society agents, on pain of death, from this day forward."

She continues on, listing detailed crimes she accuses the Pathfinder Society of, some true, some might possibly be not. As she continues, it seems she is gaining a lot of the legislator's support.

Feel free to disrupt at any time, and give me some Diplomacy checks please, if you speak.

You do not have anything that specifically links the Spider to Dorianna Ouidda, which I thought was kind of weird, but that's the way the scenario works. As for the slaves and the two bodies, you can have someone at the Pathfinder Society deliver them if you want. Lets just assume that they arrive when needed, and I'll let you sort of control that. Just let me know how you want it to work out. I had considered letting someone stay behind to bring them in, but chose to not split the party. All of the other evidence, like the notes, you can have on hand.

Maldoc will suggest presenting everything we have in the order that we discovered them, bringing out the notes, slaves and the corpses as we get to them in our timeline. However, Maldoc won't be attempting to address the crowd.

Rhuul should present our case, I suggest.

Agreed, but I figured I was taller and... well... the chaps had to be seen.

"When I learned of this misguided attempt to harm the influence of the noble pathfinder society in this great city, I was saddened. Andoran is a shining pillar of Freedom. A bulwark against tyranny! Why would such a country want anything other than to suppose an organisation that shares so many goals in common?"

Rhuul lets a tear flow from his eye.

"I thought to myself, there must be some mistake. So I set out to listen to the people of Andoran. And on the street I heard not a bad word about the Pathfinders. What I did hear was that there was a web of darkness that had taken root and was spreading fear through the streets."

He nods his head to the crowd. "Yes, a wicked spider has its lair in Almas. Like all spiders it craves one thing. Flesh. When I heard there was a slave ship docked in this very port I thought 'no! How that that be? And took it upon myself to see if such a foul rumour could indeed be true. And lo! It was."

Rhull gestures for the slaves who were freed from the ship to be ushered in.

"These poor folk. Some from your country, this city even, some from further afield. They were kept in unthinkable conditions. Let their freedom be a sign of the good that the Pathfinder Society can bring."

Rhuul pauses for breath as the ex-slaves are given a showing and allowed to talk of the horror they endured and the rescue they received from the pathfinders.

Great post, Rhuul...exactly what I think we need, though perhaps with some of your great diplomacy checks along the way. :) The other thing I'm wondering is if we can somehow bait her into revealing more...if we don't have all the evidence we need, perhaps we can use her strong convictions against her (like you are doing with the 'wicked spider' comments.

"Ah, the Pathfinder Society has come to spread their lies even here. Do not be deceived. My contacts informed me that yesterday, a slave ring was discovered, as you say. But it was one operated by the Pathfinder Society itself.

One of the legislators holds up a hand to stop Lady Ouidda and Rhuul. "Is there any proof of this? Anyone that can vouch for you?"

Many of the freed slaves signal that they are willing to testify, and they tell their various stories. Some where abducted from the streets, others from outside of Andoran, and a few had been former actors. Most comment that they where taken and placing in a holding area where they where beaten, stripped, and tormented. One day, they where beaten unconscious and put into padded crates, which where transported somewhere. That night, they where loaded upon a ship. Later that night, pointing at the party, they where rescued and freed, taken to the Pathfinder Society, given decent cloths, food, drink, and shelter, then asked to come here.

Another legislator, with a troubled look asks "But can you say for sure who it was that captured and sold you? An accusation against Lady Ouidda is dire indeed, and she has proven herself already, so as not to be taken lightly. Or you Pathfinders. Do you have any proof? Or anything else to say on this matter?"
