Game Master Isaac Duplechain

In the mists of the haunted nation of Ustalav, a dark conspiracy stirs. The death of a trusted mentor is the first clue that will lead to the gates of death, and beyond.

Reaction, out of initiative;
Will Save DC 18 -->1d20 + 3 + 2 ⇒ (14) + 3 + 2 = 19 NICE!

A frown creeps across Azuk'ai's features as a flicker of recognition flashes in his eyes, suddenly his face screws up, adapting several expressions at once until finally Azuk'ai breaks Tanner's stare.

Closing his eyes Azuk'ai gives an almost in-human roar as he tenses every muscle in his body, standing on the balls of his feet and stretching out his arms with his fists clenched a translucent figure, in the same pose and wearing the same expression of anger, slowly thrusts out of Azuk'ai's body.

As Azuk'ai crumbles to the floor with a heavy sigh the figure, an older man with stark features in life, his face weathered and cracked in death, stands and stares hatefully at Tanner.

Round 2, Initiative 18
24 Zombies 295/360, 12AC/10T/10FF, DR 5/slashing, +0F/+0R/+3W
Attacks vs. Townspeople 2d6 ⇒ (1, 1) = 2
Slam vs. Melk 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (15) + 4 = 19
--> Damage 1d6 + 4 ⇒ (6) + 4 = 10
Slam vs. Melk 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (13) + 4 = 17
--> Damage 1d6 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8

Zombies flood in the room, undeterred by the fire that has already claimed a handful of their number. Some of them pull down a pair of townspeople, who scream as the undead rip into their flesh and tear into it with rotting teeth. Two zombies lumber up to Melk, reaching out for him. Dirty, half-rotting fingers rip into his unprotected body, bloody lacerations stripping flesh out of his arms as he tries to keep them from getting a solid grasp. One of them, an old woman in dirty burial clothes, gets close enough to bite Melk hard on the shoulder, ripping a chunk of him. He barely stays on his feet, knowing that falling will result in a swarm of the undead tearing him limb from limb.

Ghost Initiative 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3

The ghostly figure spits out a curse at Tanner. "You think that you can cast me out of that half-breed mongrel? You think your sellsword god will save you from your eternal servitude to the Tar-Baphon?" His voice, to everyone but Tanner, is intimately familiar, as is the image of his skin as thin as paper and skeletal frame. It is the same ghostly figure that attacked them the first night in Ravengro, trying to get the journal from them.

Female Elf Alchemist 2

On hearing the familiar voice of their attacker from two nights ago, Run turns and points at the spectre. "YOU! YOU are the reason we are deprived of the professor's notes! His work! You will pay for that, you foul thing!" A couple panicked citizens bump into her shoulder, though, quickly reminding her of the other pressing matter at hand. Grimacing, she realizes that before she throws another bomb, she will need to see to her own protection. Instead of reaching for her bandolier, she slides her hand over to her mutagen flask. It is time.

Round 2, Initative 4
AC 15; HP 1/19

A whole gallon of blood splotches to the floor in front of Melk. He tries to keep his guts inside with one hand, and haplessly smashes his fist into a zombie. With a smiling grimace he moves away from the fight. "We need Pharasma's aid!"

Attack against Zombie 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6 damage 1d6 + 4 ⇒ (1) + 4 = 5

Attack of opportunity vs Melk 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (1) + 4 = 5 damage 1d6 + 4 ⇒ (6) + 4 = 10

Attack of opportunity vs Melk 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8 damage 1d6 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7

At least Melk reliably rolls really sheyte for everybody.

REVISED INITIATIVE
23 Azuk'ai
21 Aydan
19 Runyon
18 Tanner
18 Zombies
8 Melk
3 Ghost
0 Townspeople

Round 2, Initiative 3
Ghost: 46/53 hp, 17AC/13T/16FF, +7F/+4R/+11W
SA: Murderous Command vs. Aydan 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 2 = 7

The ghostly figure floats in the air ominously, releasing a cruel, malicous laugh. "You there!" He points to Aydan. "Kill the drunken god's errand boy." His words echo in Aydan's head, unable to keep them out, as he raises his sword to bring to bear against Tanner. Like a puppeteer, the ghost manipulates others with magic, maliciously commanding them with his own will.

Round 2, Initiative 0
55 Townspeople vs. Zombies 1d4 ⇒ 1

With screams of terror coming from the frightened citizens, they push up further and further in a shared, horrifying panic. The shuffling undead come closer and closer, the fetid smell wafting off them in a sickening wave. Sheriff Caeller and his deputies do their best to stem the tide, but their resolve seems to be waning after seeing Melk retreat. They kill another pair of zombies as they rush towards each other, trying to form a solid line to prevent the undead from coming further.

Round 3, initiative 23
AC 18, touch 15, flat-footed 15
hp; 18/18
Fort +5, Ref +7, Will +3
Buffs; Protection from Evil.

Coming back to his senses Azuk'ai jerks and twists in a heap as he regains control over his muscles, a low growl starts in the back of his throat as he jerks and clenches his fingers and toes, growing into a full blown roar of utter hatred as he lunges at the ghost formerly occupying his body.

"grrrrrraaaaaAAAAAAAAAAA!!!! YOU SLIMY LITTLE SHIT!! YOU GRAVE-LICKING BOOTSTRAP!! I'M GONA PUT YOU DOWN AND THEN RAISE YOU FROM THE DEAD SO I CAN PUT YOU BACK INTO YOUR'R F%!!ING GRAVE!!"

MA; Stand.
SA: Attack, Miss chance; 1d100 ⇒ 83 Miss.

Swiping at the ghost with his dagger, Ayden's blood splattering from it mid-swing, the dagger passes harmlessly through the ghost.

Aydan, it's your turn. You are affected by murderous command, which commands you to attack Tanner. Whee for low Will saves.

And there I was starting to think of him as a big brother. 8^0
