Male Human 5th Cleric/1st Fighter

Hey Berrin just keep in mind that it's generally not a good idea to kill/re-kill a hated enemy in the middle of the Founder's Hall with lots of dignitaries around -- instead you need to find a nice out-of-the-way creepy shack to do your killin' :)

Too bad Berrin's not steward anymore, he could have asked Taisper to take a walk in the woods with him...

Male Human Inquisitor 5 (Heretic/Heresy Inquisition)

Hahahaaa. It's true!

Male Human Fighter (Archer) 5

Yeah...a 'Cabin in the Woods' should be our next official structure for our kingdom. Lowers unrest as trouble makers seem to disappear.

Male Human Inquisitor 5 (Heretic/Heresy Inquisition)

Oh man. You know some darn kids're gonna stumble on it, though...

Only a problem if we make the cabin out of sweetbreads and candy, and have Tandlara spend most of her time there.

Male Human Inquisitor 5 (Heretic/Heresy Inquisition)

Oh man, then all the creepy members of the party could be happy together in one place!

Male Human 5th Cleric/1st Fighter

Anyone up for barbecue?

Bought a house! Moving today. Will be MIA for a little while.

Good for you Isaac!

Male Human 5th Cleric/1st Fighter

Congrats! Ahh the fun of unpacking boxes for the next month and wondering where that one thing was that you were sure you packed but now can't find :)

One of my more hilarious memories was driving the 24' U-Haul through downtown Houston in rush hour with my wife behind me in her car freaking out with all the traffic hehe.

Male Human Samurai-Ronin 4/ Oracle-Battle 2

Congrats!

Moving's a great way and time to get rid of all the useless Stuff we tend to build up in our lives. Can be very liberating and clears up a lot of blocked energy.

Cheers!

Male Human Fighter (Archer) 5

Congrats. It definitely a good time to take the plunge.

Male Human Inquisitor 5 (Heretic/Heresy Inquisition)

w00t! 'Grats! Homeownership is pretty rad, you'll dig it. Hope your movening goes smoothly!

Male Human 5th Cleric/1st Fighter

While Verik lies unconscious he dreams of the First Vault ... which in this case is the PDF download of the Ultimate Equipment Guide today!

Male Human Inquisitor 5 (Heretic/Heresy Inquisition)

Word up! I'll be picking mine up on Thursday at that Paizo booth at GenCon, can't wait!

Ahhh! That's right you're up there in GenCon territory -- well that's definitely cool as I've never been to one. Do you try and dabble in tabletop gaming or just to pick up some goodies and go sightseeing?

Male Human Samurai-Ronin 4/ Oracle-Battle 2

Never been to one either. Would love to though, and I'm sure I will someday. Meanwhile, we'll have to enjoy vicariously through you Taisper.

Male Human Inquisitor 5 (Heretic/Heresy Inquisition)

I do a pretty ferocious amount of gaming, usually at least 8 hours on a given day; last year I did some Cthulhu Tech, some Star Wars (d20), some Pathfinder, was table DM for an Iron GMs event, and played in Iron GM as per tradition. This year I was gonna compete in Iron GM but I have to come back a day early to stand up in the wedding of a couple very close friends so I'll miss it this year. No worries, there's always next year.

But yeah; this year I'll be doing some PFR and maybe more Cthulhu Tech, and my buddy Graham and I will also be running an epic 20th-level campaign for a bunch of friends (including Steve, who is currently playing the ex-Stag Lord Nikolai in this PbP) Thursday and Friday night. It'll be a blast.

On top of all that, of course, I make a pass at the con floor and check out what various vendors are up to. We try to make time for a game of Artemis if at all possible, but not sure that'll happen this year...

It's definitely a great time, though; highly recommended!

Male Human Samurai-Ronin 4/ Oracle-Battle 2

So is this the major RPG gaming con of the year?

Male Human Inquisitor 5 (Heretic/Heresy Inquisition)

AFAIK it's the biggest (non video-)gaming con, period. Last year's attendance was over 36,000. If it's a board game, card game, tabletop game, RPG, etc.; it's there, and well-represented to boot.

ETA: I highly recommend signing up on their website (it's free) and checking out all the events to get an idea of what's available. It really is incredible.

Male Human Samurai-Ronin 4/ Oracle-Battle 2

Awesome! Thanks for the link!

Hah! Man, I'd love to try that one out!

Make sure that you harass Steve to get back to us. Buy him a laptop if you have to!

Male Human Inquisitor 5 (Heretic/Heresy Inquisition)

Hahaa, right on, man.

It's a LOT of fun if you do it with the right group. We had a total blast when we did it last year.

Good on you DM Barcas; I've actually made an offer on a flat myself this week. Will only hear next week if they accept.

And my big realization with Ultimate Equipment: Jemini can have a circlet of persuasion at the same time as her headband of charisma. Excellent result! Guess what Verik will have to craft if he survives? :D

Also: all the scabbards are now slotless (some previously were belt-slot, which really interfered with their usefulness).

Male Human 5th Cleric/1st Fighter

Yeah I saw that too! I was trying to wrap my brain around the concept - its strange to consider one could have a headband (which I always liked the flavor of it being more like a circlet), and then a head item like a circlet (heh) or hat/helm, and then an "eyes" item like glasses or even a mask I believe. As it was I had some trouble sorting out in my mind the difference for body items as apart from chest items...and I assumed armor was also a body slot but apparently not.

I need to wait till they put this in the srd... I have no idea what you're talking about.

Berrin Myrdal wrote:

Well I just checked the PRD and SRD and it looks like they are current with what's in the new guide...maybe I just never really noticed before or made assumptions on headgear. So they do show in the "Magic" section under 'Magic Items On the Body' the distinction between Head slot and Headband slot.

Seriously? I need to check that.

Is it just like that online or is it like that in the Core as well? Need to check that too...

Edit; Huh... Who knew?

Just checked, it's in the Core.

Male Human Fighter (Archer) 5

Huh. Guess I wasn't up on that either. I have been assuming the headband of disguise and Stag Helm would not both work at once.

Male Human 5th Cleric/1st Fighter

Of course I'm still trying to visualize what a headband of charisma and a circlet of persuasion looks like on a character...other than two circlets oddly stacked atop one another, with one falling down to your nose - at that point you actually need a glasses slot item to keep everything in place :)

Male Human Fighter (Archer) 5

One's a tie-dyed bandana and the other is a diamond tiara. I can totally see them working together.

Male Human 5th Cleric/1st Fighter

Hehe -- I do believe some purple colored glasses of darkvision would go perfectly with that!

Heads up, the internet adapter on my pc gave out so until I get a new one I'm down to posting from a quirky laptop who's screen is broken (I need to say a little prayer every time I turn it on) and from work.

I'll do my damnedest to keep up but if I don't, please don't take it as lack of interest.

Sigz.

Male Human 5th Cleric/1st Fighter

Nevermind the fact that Taisper/DRA has like 12 bands and 27 campaigns to run, we want to hear about GENCON! I need to know what the future of gaming has in store for us (okay not really but I do want to hear about any good times at the convention).

Every time I start Akiros and Berrin's scene, I get interrupted. Invariably. I have it mostly finished at home.

Male Human Samurai-Ronin 4/ Oracle-Battle 2

Good to hear. So in that case I am able to continue to patiently wait...a Little longer!!

; )

Well for just being able to squeak in a post on an old laptop every now and then, that one today with Surtova was a doozy! I think Berrin has scoreboard on the one-liner insults with that blast. Priceless.

Male Human Inquisitor 5 (Heretic/Heresy Inquisition)

Derp. Sorry, Meowzebub; totally forgot Zander was waiting for the cousins to return. Getting on that now...

Male Human Fighter (Archer) 5

Totally understandable. As far as Zander knows, you are on a nature walk. I just wanted to post something to say that I am still here.

To break a nose or to not brake a nose, that is the question.

Need to mull this over consider the repricusions and all...

WWBD?

Male Human 5th Cleric/1st Fighter

You could always send Reggie and Valnyr after him...

Male Human Samurai-Ronin 4/ Oracle-Battle 2

Ouch! I think what's his name just one-upped Berrin now. Dang that was nasty! That %#&% needs to be put down like a rabid dog! Go Berrin! Akiros has got your back! ; )

(course might be a bit messy if he tries to help kill the brother of the girl he's fallen head over heels for...)

Male Human 5th Cleric/1st Fighter

Hehe that bit with Akiros was VERY smooth - hey why is Kesten Garess doing a facepalm right about now in the Founder's Hall?

Akiros: "Those Brevian nobles are like dogs slinking around thinking they can mess up Newhaven!"

Elspeth: "Well I never! I am a Brevian noble you lout!"

Akiros: "Errr...uhhh...I mean errrr..."

LOL!

Elspeth and Alexey were actually in Corwin's original backstory when he was a PC.

Male Human Samurai-Ronin 4/ Oracle-Battle 2

Aha.

And cool fight scene Verik and Tasiper! It's easy to forget how badass Taisper can be. I just have one question though...Why in the world didn't you guys loot the magus?? He probably had tons of magic stuff and coin on him. Sanctuary certainly could have used the funds at the very least. If you had a specific reason not to do it or if you felt it was something your PCs just wouldn't do that's of course cool, but it does leave me wondering why?

Male Human 5th Cleric/1st Fighter

To your point Khaladon it did cross my mind, but I had to conclude that Verik is too messed up right now from a physical and emotional sense to think about that. Plus Taisper was really the victor of that fight and scene so I would defer to him - if he found something from Alexius on their way to taking his body to the swamp I would find that fitting and not begrudge that at all.

Also in homage to Rellen and how he created Verik, it was pretty clear he'd disdain many acquired items in lieu of crafting them himself as an Abadarian thing.

Taking the crafting feats though for the party is going to get him killed if he doesn't get more martial and tougher, so I'll need to focus on that in the next couple levels.

Male Human Fighter (Archer) 5

There is that fine line between killing baddies and taking their stuff and killing friends (even if they are baddies) and taking their stuff. I think the 'less questions asked' approach was a good one, in this case. Don't really want to be going around wearing Alexis' cloak or boots, for any number of reasons.
