I loved the vampire orc tribe, especially with their leader's tactic of turning his enemies and then throwing them into the sunlight. That's nifty.

Why did its AC go up to 18? Shouldn't it have gone down to 15 for a round after evil eye?

Yes agreed, I'm fairly apprehensive... It was more an RP decision that a tactical one, but he still has a decent AC. A wiser decision would have been full defense, but I figure we need to hit this thing...
But if you always play it safe the game is no fun, it would have been awesome if I had hit, but heck its a dice game. If I was being tactical I would have Verik simply stand back and use channel energy, but I feel that would be very out of character with nobody hurt. Hopefully he stays up and can do it once folks start getting injured.
Remember Berrin moved up to - though he did not do it on the map - so I am rather hoping its attacks get diluted between the pair of us. I think it would have to roll well to down Verik with a hit, and I think it would take two for Berrin. At that point I have an RP excuse for Verik to take on a more healing roll while I try to maeuvre him round for flanking.

If it is what I think it is then even if it hits Taisper for minimum damage he'll be knocked down to one HP. Ouchie.
Its not a dire bear OOC, though the figure is the dire bear fig, too few HP. I am guessing it must be a grizzly with a slight armor class boost - I've just finished making a bear shaman with one for one of my EnWorld Living Pathfinder games.
Oh I know it's not a dire bear, those guys are like CR7. Grizzlies' avg. HP is like 42, IIRC, so I reckon you're 100% correct. Even a Grizzly is CR4, though, so maybe it's soft-keyed a bit. Regardless. It's super bad455.

Also the AC went up to 18 because it's no longer flat-footed. I suppose technically your Evil Eye didn't take effect until after the bear went so his AC was correct at the time of the DM's post. If you delayed to directly after the bear, then it is now 16 for everyone else, but that hasn't mattered yet.

Its normal AC is 20, 17 flat-footed. The curse brought it from 20 to 18.
And now that its got the grappled condition it's AC drops to 18 on account of the -4 to dex. And it takes a -2 to all attack rolls exept the ones made to grapple..

What's the bears CMD? For if I decide to escape the grapple, am looking through the grapple rules atm to see if Berrin can attack with his longsword. So far I haven't seen anything that says no.
CMD is 24, 28 vs trip.
Instead of attempting to break or reverse the grapple, you can take any action that requires only one hand to perform, such as cast a spell or make an attack with a light or one-handed weapon against any creature within your reach, including the creature that is grappling you.
Emphasis mine. A longsword is a one-handed weapon. Wich means I can make an attack at a -2 penalty. Any objections?

Verik will go down if he does that (goes to -1 from being staggered on 0 HP).
I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but I suspect either Taisper or Jemini still provoke. Taisper might not have been able to charge (Zander in the way) - but that doesn't really matter with an attack roll of 19. He could definitely have moved in and attacked.
EDIT: oh wait - no provoke for that movement from either of us. Whew :)

I can move mine, I just forgot. Taisper's position should be current now, though. I also moved Zander's "roar" balloon to what I felt was a more appropriate spot, given the circumstances. ;-)

It had 25 before your combined 12, leanig it at 13 currently before Verik's and Berrin's turn.

Verik will presumably give you a few more hit points when he goes. Zander runs the risk of 50% chance to shoot you, so he might be less than stellar unless you get out.
