DM Ayrphish's Carrion Crown (Inactive)

Game Master Ayrphish

Carrion Crown, from DM Ayrphish

1 to 50 of 103 << first < prev | 1 | 2 | 3 | next > last >>

Have had a great time so far with my Dragon Empire's game, so am willing to expand and give some more pbp opportunities. So, I will start a Carrion Crown game.

Here is what I am looking for, and I will answer questions as they are posted, the best I can.

For starters... It will be level 1 to start, you can have max gold for you class, you can have two traits, one of which must be from the carrion crown player's guide. I will accept anything made by paizo (races/classes/traits/archetypes/etc), but nothing from third party publishing or 3.5 material. Create your characters using the 20 point buy system. One stat below 10, nothing lower than 8, or higher than 18. (Before racial mods)

Your character should have a relationship to Lorrimor and that should be indicative in whatever character you submit for consideration.

Guns? (UC) Guns are rare. You should have a good story as to why you have a gun, how you got it, etc. I'm not opposed to them, but I'm not gonna jump up and down for them either.

Alignment? Tend to want 'good' or 'neutral' characters, if you want to be something else, you might want to message me and see if I think it will fit before putting too much work into it.

Posting? I would like posts to be made at least once every 24 hours during the week. I can't really do much on the weekends, so the game will slow down considerably Friday afternoon/evening until Monday morning. I am in the CST time zone, so to keep on the same page/schedule, it would be great if you could post during the 8am - 8pm time window.

What am I looking for? I have became a huge fan of the narrative, role playing opportunities that pbp entails. So I want interesting characters, neat ideas, and well developed stories to bring a character to life. Characters that will make the game interesting and fun to read and keep it progressing. Characters should be expected to Role Play the 'horror' theme, so keep that in mind when designing them. I will also rely on narratives for combat as much as possible, if a map becomes vital, i'll use google docs, but will hopefully not need to do that. I will also appreciate people who play their characters during the recruitment period, letting me know who you are is a great help to me.

I would like to fill the four roles, Assault, Skill, Divine, and Arcane. I might take a fifth player if there is a character that I REALLY like. When you post your character, please let me know which role you want to fill.

When? For now, I'll keep recruitment open until Friday, when I will announce who I am going to start with. We will start play the following Monday. I will give you a warning if I find what I think works and can close recruitment earlier than that.

Have fun, and ask anything I might have missed.

Shadow Lodge

I'd love to join. I'd like the Divine role and I have a few ideas. I am deployed, and I have been waiting forever to get into Carrion Crown.
That being said, I can usually post multiple times a day, but being that I'm deployed ina combat zone, there are times when I can't, for whatever reason, and sometimes I will not even have the opertunity to tell anyone.

Shadow Lodge

This is also the start of my "day", and here is a character I can expand.

I'l like to go with a dark hero, and one that is trying to innitiate a knighthood that focuses on destroying undead, banishing evil outsiders, and rooting our dark cults. I want to be invested in the story, and also to develope personal relationships throughout.

I will be happy to smite the untold legions of evil, they will feel my wrath and vengance!

Crunch and back story in profile

I created this Necromancer for another game in Ustalov, I'll update the Background and Adjust the Creation rules by the end of the day

I understand and appreciate your situation, as such I do encourage you to apply during recruitment phase of the game :)

Shadow Lodge

Isn't this the recruitment phase of the game?

Shadow Lodge

Or, actually, this is one of Beckett's characters.

I created Libby for another CC campaign but, unfortunately, she didn't make the cut.

Here is my submission, Adwa Namandi, human witch. All his information is in his profile.

Role: Arcane

Beckett wrote:

Yes, what I guess I should have said is, make a character for me to look at, and i'll put him on the list of applicants. I don't want your schedule to be a reason you don't apply or try to play.

I'd very much like to submit my character, though the crunch and write up are in progress. He will be a human investigator out of Karcau.

Silver Crusade

Hey, Ayrphish! I'd love to play in an AP. I'll be creating an assault character, likely a fighter or barbarian, if that will fit. Need to review the player's guide to see about that. Ooh. Or a Paladin. I love the idea of a Paladin in a gothic horror setting. :D

I would like to submit a sorcerer for your consideration. I have not statted the character up yet, but she will fill the role of an arcane caster.

Kara Soltani
Kara was born into Golarion destined for... something. What that something is, she doesn't quite know. She just knows that there have been far too many odd occurrences in her life driving her in a direction not entirely of her choosing to call them coincidences. This destiny, brought onto her by the gods or by fate, drove Kara to try and learn more about the future. She began to study divination, against her parents' will.

During her studies, Kara frequently sought out the advice and tutelage of a Varisian Harrower named Verla, further angering her parents. Though at first she went only to Verla in order to receive a Harrowing, she eventually found herself learning how to perform a Harrowing herself. Verla recognized Kara's abilities as a diviner, and fostered her increasing curiosity by training her. Unfortunately, Verla was eventually accused of being a petty thief and con artist, and was arrested. Kara continued on in her stead, despite the danger imposed by the law.

These new found skills with the Harrow deck caused Professor Lorrimor to seek Kara out. It turns out Lorrimor had a rather pressing concern and needed a diviner to help him figure it out. He paid Kara handsomely to perform a Harrowing (her first professional Harrowing, in fact). Note: I would leave it up to the DM what Kara determined. I don't actually know anything about this campaign, having never played it.

Appearance:
To be determined (I'll probably use the avatars as inspiration).

Motivation:
Kara's life is somewhat out of her own control, as fate has taken a hold of her life. At least, that's how she sees things. She really loves performing Harrowings, and never charges her friends for a reading. She believes luck and coincidence plays a large part in everyone's live, but most have been unable to see it. She leans towards Chaotic Good on the alignment scale.

Character progression:
I see Kara starting off with the Harrowed feat and moving towards taking the Harrower prestige class eventually (probably as soon as she can). She'll gladly perform Harrowings, but I would like to work it out with the DM on how to go about this. Perhaps I could roll the cards using Paizo's number generator, and then have the DM provide the interpretation or give me a clue through Private Messaging.

She'll have access to some divination skills, but I'll also try to keep her effective in combat (with spells like Sleep, Magic Missile, etc.). I have considered making her an up close touch attack caster, but I'm not sure if that's the route I really want to take just yet.

Please let me know if you have any questions about the character and I'll do my best to answer them. And as always, my character may change slightly once I get to know her better, but the core concept will remain.

Dot for interest.

Still working on the crunch, but here's my BG for submission:

Background:
A child of the streets, Iagon grew up playing the role of those he now hunts. His father was a criminal of the vilest sort, and his mother was half a world away and largely unknown to him. The young boy suffered through system after system on the streets of Caliphas in his youth. He was a cutpurse and an urchin, parlaying a meager talent and quick hands into survival.

When he came of an age to gain some modicum of independence, Iagon stumbled upon a group of toughs who were making an example of a fellow that Iagon had grown up with in the system, perhaps even called a friend. The young man outwitted the thugs with some quick thinking and outrageous boasts, and they took to flight. Little did he know, the young man was a hopeful applicant to the Sczarni, and Iagon had just given himself another conduit into the Caliphas underworld.

Years of encounters with the underhanded Sczarni and those who plied their trade in the darkness eventually tempered Iagon led the young man to an inevitable crossroads - either he could join with their kind, or he could work against them. Iagon chose a life of the law, and the gap between him and those with whom he had shared his young life grew even wider.

Iagon moved to Karcau soon after he had received his certification as an investigator and professional practitioner of the law, and he now works in employ (though indirectly) of Countess Sasandra Livgrace. His "certification" means little, save that he carries slightly more weight than a citizen when it comes to things like arrest.

appearance:
Iagon is a thin man, perhaps even a bit frail. He tends to be clean-shaven, professional, and well-kept. His hair is a chestnut brown and close kept, while his eyes are a deep blue. He's plain, but not unattractive, and has an air of caring and concern, which lends well to others' trusting him.

Ties to Lorrimor:
Professor Lorrimor contacted Iagon early in his career to discuss a certain case, wherein it was rumored that a deceased young woman had come back to strangle her landlord. The reality was much less surreal, but Lorrimor considered Iagon to be a valuable resource for information, and vice versa. Since then, they've shared information on several such cases, some of them even yielding Iagon a small fee for his time.

I actually started this campaign, and then the DM got deployed and we never got to take it very far. I was having a good time with it. We had made it to level three. I don't want to post where we were at as its kind of a spoiler. Would I still be open for consideration? I have a dwarven zen archer build I've been wanting to run with for a while.

I posted as Tiann because you're playing with Tiann in another game and I wanted to show a familiar face. :) Tiann is not applying for this.

Anselm would best fit in the assault category.

@ Riginald johnson, Greatsword is listed in your attacks but not in your gears.

Um, I'm unsure as to what category an alchemist would fall under. Probably either skill (because of the various support roles that an alchemist can fill) or other kind of support. Certainly plenty of damage dealing capability.

Background:

The nobility is no more. At least, what was the old order. Only the strongest of the old order remain and their power is not what it once was. The periphery of the nobility, those that existed to help maintain power while not fully enjoying its fruits...now they are dead. Those that cling to their old lives are deranged; their time is over.

Jen was bright, even by male standards. Growing up in a reasonably wealthy family, her parents tried to groom her to catch the eye of a well-off gentleman in the upper nobility, so that the family's social standing would be enhanced. It was not merely enough to have a pretty face. Bah, the upper classes wanted more. They wanted their girls to have learning and wit, so that's what Jen got. By the time of her 16th birthday, she was well versed in the philosophies of the Inner Sea Region and had theological banter with clerics of various deities, but the discussions that she treasured the most were with Professor Lorrimor on the science of alchemy.

As everyone back in the time knew, having a special interest or knowledge set was immensely alluring, so when Jen asked to study with the professor personally, her parents obliged and sent her off with the remainder of their savings, for the old nobility had already begun to crumble and a wealthy husband was their only hope for retaining their status. Alas, her father suffered from sudden nightmares and a steady deterioration of his body (he claims that he saw an eldritch horror). Her mother, distraught from her husband's sudden turn for the worse, could not entertain her guests and became isolated, truly lost any semblance of her nobility remaining. She only has a shack where the family's servants used to live as her home now.

Upon hearing the news that her parents were unable to support her studies with Professor Lorrimor, Jen prepared to move back. The Professor noticed her aptitude and out of kindness, offered to support her with a small pension, which she eagerly accepted. All thoughts of marriage leaving her mind, she devoted herself entirely to study, but unlike the professor, she did not believe in the sacredness of the dead and their bones. Sometimes she would sneak back and remove body parts from the deceased to use in macabre experiments, to further her knowledge. Knowing that her father had declined, she aimed to perfect her knowledge to keep him alive.

Soon, it became clear that her Father was not going to survive much longer, so Jen traveled back to her home to attend to him. Soon after she left, Professor Lorrimor died and a letter was sent after Jen to inform her. When she saw her father, she was horrified. Her father was scarcely more than a bag of bones at the end of his life, having little strength to even stand and thighs so emaciated that one could wrap around it using their thumb and pointer finger. In his last agonizing struggle before death, his flesh began to contort and some bones almost looked like they were going to burst out of his body.

That's when the nightmares started. She is walking down a desolate street, her cream-colored dress flowing mostly behind her. Her parasol shields her face from the impoverished side of town, while she glances at the deserted stores of luxury. Then the agonizing screams begin and half-fleshed skeletons crawling or shambling along beg her for help, before they turn ravenous. Every time, she runs and stumbles, thrusting her parasol to fend the creatures back as she scoots away. Then they reach her and begin to tear her limb from limb, in the same graphic detail as she witnessed the death of her father. The dream ends right before they are about to consume her entirely.

Now she begins to travel back to the funeral of the Professor to pay her last respects and hoping that the Professor might once again have a solution to her problems.

Worst Fears:

Jen is courageous against most threats. She can handle bones and bandits and spiders and such, but skeletons with some flesh on them terrify her, especially if they have enough of a resemblance to her father to remind her of his death.

This is a character from another CC game that went 'pop'.

It occurred to me... With all the "fantastic" going around with styles and weapons, when was the last time anyone saw a proper "boxing" type character?

So here's Ama, and though it is monk package, I suspect he flutters around the 'assault' classification.

Silver Crusade

Background in profile. Reproduced here:

Anselm's story:

The first born child to Chelaxian parents, Anselm was destined for the local army like his father and his father before him. He was always especially skilled with the longsword, easily besting his peers in duels. While not the teacher's pet, his skill was undeniable.

During his thirteenth summer, his skill with the blade caught the eye of Rutilus Galonnica, a priest of Iomedae. He approached Anselm's parents and said that he saw greater potential in their boy than simple military pursuits. He spoke of a path of peace tempered with strength. Rutilus told Anselm of the goddess, and how she rose from humble beginnings from his home in Chelax to divinity. Of course, every boy his age thought he was good enough to pass the Test, and Anselm told Rutilus such. The old priest laughed, and clapped Anselm on the shoulder, "I said you had more potential than a simple swordsman--I didn't say you were a god!". Regardless of this humbling chiding, Anselm liked what Rutilus told him about the goddess and her work making the world a livable place.

His parents, while saddened at his decision, were nevertheless openminded enough to let him pursue his own goals in life. It was under the church's tutelage that Anselm was finally challenged. The first day of his studies, Rutilus told Anselm that he was chosen be a Paladin. Having only a vague idea of what this meant, Anselm asked for clarification. "A Paladin," Rutilus said, "is the staunchest defender of the faith. More than the Cleric, more than the Inquisitor, the Paladin stands where others fall. Do you think you can do this?" Anselm found himself nodding before he pondered the question.

Anselm found his training to be the most rigorous and difficult ordeal of his life to that point. Paladins were trained not only in the art of war, but also in the faith and in the code of honor. Having secretly hated the evil of his homeland, Anselm welcomed the existence of a shining star like Iomedae in his life. Having started on the path to Paladinhood later than most, he finished the training in his 23rd summer.

On that date, Rutilus--now an old man--approached him and asked him if he was ready to challenge himself as he never had before. The challenge would be one of adventuring, of exploring, of learning. Anselm arched a brow and regarded his mentor curiously. It already seemed as though the church demanded as much from him as he could give. And he was a Paladin, not a sage. Yet Rutilus was confident that he could pass this test. That confidence was infectious, and Anselm agreed. Rutilus nodded, smiling, as if he was expecting that answer all along. "Go to your quarters. You will find your belongings packed for a journey. We go to Absalom, for there you will meet your next challenge." "What is this challenge, Rutilus?" came the reply. "The call has come from Absalom for the good Churches to lend as much of their aid to the Pathfinder Society. You will be travelling with one Professor Petros Lorrimor, consummate scholar and explorer," the priest said. "He will teach you what I cannot--because he is the more senior scholar, because there are things one cannot learn from books in a church's library, and because I am not long for this world, as you can see." Anselm gasped and shook his head. "Don't say that, Father! You have many years still!" Rutilus could only shrug, "Regardless, you must go and get your belongings. The carriage will leave soon."

The two set off for Absalom. The experience of the city overwhelmed Anselm, but Rutilus could only grin. "You'll see far more wonderful and splendorous things than this working with Petros. He travels the world, a polymath. Digs up knowledge--and more--everywhere he goes." The specifics of Lorrimor working with Anselm were that, after a successful expedition, Anselm would be inducted into the Pathfinder Society upon Lorrimor's satisfactory review. Wanting to do his family proud, Anselm gladly accepted.

Their first expedition together took them to the nation of Lastwall. They were to investigate the ruins of a battle faught by the Knights of Ozem, and recover certain artifacts of historical interest. Everything was going to plan for the first few days. As they dug deeper, more information in the form of journals and artifacts were found. Anselm began to wonder if all Pathfinder initiations were this easy and boring. Late one evening, Anselm heard a shout from the campsite outside the ruins. He grabbed his longsword and rushed to the source, finding Lorrimor surrounded by undead. It seems the artifacts they had recovered were cursed, and removing them from their resting place summoned the spirits within. Anselm and Lorrimor fought off the undead, and after that night Lorrimor was certain Anselm had saved his life. After this, Anselm realized the seriousness of the undead threat on the world, and sought out the Silver Crusade to aid in their fight against such foul abominations.

Now, summoned to Ustalav for Professor Lorrimor's funeral, Anselm cannot help but realize that he is following in the footsteps of his goddess. While he may not be capable of passing the Test (yet), it seems obvious to him that the Fates are drawing him to Ustalav for greater purposes than just a funeral. The entire journey has a twofold religious significance to Anselm: the funeral itself, and his worship of a goddess who so many years ago took the same path to rid the world of great evil.

Apparence and Background added, Fixed a few mistakes.

apparence:

This Catfolk lady stands arround 5 feet 6 inches tall, weighting about 135 pounds. Her hair and skin (fur?) are grey'ish blue, her eyes are fiery orangish.

background:

Alexana comes from a wealthy traveling merchant and ruin explorer family. During their long travels they met all sort of people, at some point, they chance met Professor Petros Lorrimor during on of his explorations of some ruins, there started a long colaboration.

Professor Lorrimor took a liking to the misterious Catfolk... Alexana took a liking to the Professor, she loved hearing is stories and would often intrude on conversations about different subjects, her favorites were the ones about ruins and dungeons, she would have lengthy chat about those with the Professor and the elders.

When she grew old enough, she went with the Professor on some of his digs. She tried her best to keep contact with Professor Lorrimor after he retired.

@ Riginald johnson, Ranged long bow, 1d8+2/3 if within 30ft, you might want to "reword" that.

This is Dukeruckley posting as Kara, the Destined Sorceress. Please see her alias profile for stats. Thanks again for your consideration, I had a blast coming up with this character!

Edit: How about some roleplay?

A young woman enters the room and confidently strides to the first open table to sees. As she takes her seat, she calls out to the crowd, "Anyone care for a reading?" From seemingly out of nowhere, a fine looking Harrow Deck appears in her hands. She flips the cards and performs a few tricks before setting the card down on the table and placing her hands to both sides, hoping for a client.

"Free sampling? sure then." said the Catfolk Lady

Silver Crusade

Anselm looks curiously at the woman with the cards. While Iomedae's dogma doesn't talk much about fortune tellers, she doesn't forbid it, either. And who says he has to take it seriously? Having a reading is a good way to start talking to someone, and he's always liked making friends.

He joins the young woman at the table, nodding at the deck. What sort of reading, Lady? His voice is gentle and curious, smooth yet firm.

I think she's mad, more than a tad. Nothing comes free, not even freedom. Nowadays, you even have to buy body parts of the deceased. Where has this world come?

Jen watches in amusement as the catfolk tries to get a free reading. There was still time to kill before the Professor's funeral and watching a naive young woman learn about the world the hard way was as good a way as any to pass the time. A deeper inner voice spoke to her inside her head (but she's not crazy!).

In many ways, you have grown past that naivete, but in many ways, you are still the same.

I would like to submit Razvan for your consideration. I developed this half-orc rogue for another campaign for which he was not chosen. Razvan is intended to be non-stereotypical half-orc in that he is more intellectual and skill based and not some mindless brute despite his bestial appearance. He would seek to fill the skill role. I will be updating Razvan's background later today or tomorrow. I would welcome any feedback or suggestions.

Kara gestures for the catwoman and man to take a seat. Now that is a strange sight... A catwoman!. "This is a Harrow reading, sir. And while I normally charge for my services, I believe that would be most rude, given the current situation. I could benefit from some practice, though, so here we go."

Kara shuffles the cards deftly and then asks each of them to draw a card. The catwoman draws The Locksmith and the man The Tyrant. "It appears as if the key to your destiny lies close at hand. And for you, sir, it appears as if you will encounter someone who is abusing his power. Now I will perform the Harrowing." At this last statement, Kara replaces the two cards that were drawn and once again shuffles the deck. She draws three cards at a time, lying them out in columns.

"These first columns represent the past. We have the The Midwife, The Wanderer, and... Oh my... This isn't good, sir. As you see I have drawn your card, The Tyrant. What's more, is that this card is aligned in such a way as to emphasize its importance. This person who is abusing his power, he or she must be from your past, someone you know." Kara shakes her head in bewilderment. It is very rare for a card from the Choosing to be drawn in the Harrowing and be truly aligned.

"This second column represents the present. The Big Sky, The Tangled Briar, and The Snakebite... The present is very uncertain, but it appears as if your lives are both changing as we speak. There is no telling what this change will be, only that your lives are soon to be very different."

"And finally we have the column that represents the future. We have The Paladin, The Teamster, and The Trumpet." Kara points to both the Paladin and The Trumpet. "Both of these cards are misaligned, which is a bad portent. The Paladin in this position tells me that one of you must make a choice to change your ways in the future. Staying the course will lead to misfortune. The Trumpet tells me that while your motives may seem pure, deep down they are not noble and are perhaps destructive. I cannot say who these two cards represent, so you must both heed these warnings."

"I can see only what the cards show me."

And with that, Kara scoops up the cards, shuffles the deck together and then conceals them on her person.

Note: Obviously, I'm not the DM, so I have no idea if these are correct on not. During the game, I would roll the cards and have the DM provide me with the reading (or at least a clue based on the cards).

While initially disappointed at the lack of entertainment, Jen is soon pulled into the mystique and mystery of the Harrow cards.

"Good Madam, where do the Harrow cards draw their power from? Do they answer specific questions or give general forcasts?" Jen slides her way into another empty seat. "While you're here, your hands are stretched, and the cards are out, perhaps you wouldn't mind giving another reading? I think it would be wise to consider information from as many different sources as we can, given the current circumstances." She seems well spoken and intellectual with a certain high-born accent, not generally the kind of person that deals with Harrow predictions.

Sczarni

Razvan watches the Harrow card reader from the shadows. A shiver runs down his spine as cold wind blows open a door as the Harrow card reader begins. It feels wrong as if someone unseen was watching.

I wonder if she has any real talent or if she is just another Sczarni charlatan preying on the superstitious fools flooding town for the funeral.

Razvan lumbers forward and gives the beastial grunt most strangers would expect from a half-orc,"You tell me future? I pay you good coin but no trick!"

My character is kinda out of gold, so...

"Many thanks young lady." Alexana then got up and started looking around.

Silver Crusade

Interesting... perhaps superstition, perhaps true divination. Either way, interesting. Can't get too worked up about it, though. Stay cool.

Nodding quietly at Kara's reading, Anselm waits patiently for Kara to answer Jen's questions and then puts forth his own. He keeps his eyes on Kara, more curious than anything else.

Hmm... I see you drew the Paladin card. Anselm indicates the named card with a a gauntleted hand. I myself am a Paladin of Iomedae. What portent does your drawing that card have for me? And you say it is misaligned. Is it possible that it refers to me, that the cards knew a Paladin was present?

While waiting, he draws a few coins from a bag and offers them. For me and for the catfolk.

When the young lady and half-orc come up to Kara's table, she nods to them and asks them to sit. But she doesn't start the Harrowing right away, taking the time to answer the questions of the others first, nodding to the cat woman as she walks away.

To the Paladin, "Why yes, the card very well could pertain to you, but not necessarily. From the looks of it, this reading was heavily focused upon you. For your sake, I hope that the omens are not as serious as they seem. Drawing the Paladin in that particular place is never a good sign. I don't know you, nor your ways and beliefs, but based on that card alone I would urge to take some time to evaluate your morality to be sure that what you believe is really what is right and just." When he offers her a few coins, she pushes them back at him. "Please, keep your coin. I am not here to make money; we are all here to mourn the good Professor."

To the woman and half-orc man that have taken their seat, Kara reiterates that she is not looking for money, that her services are complimentary today. And she assures the half-orc that her talents are no trick, but the real thing. "I must admit that these cards are usually rather vague, so I cannot promise you any concrete answers. But I can tell you that I do not simply make these up. I tell you what the cards tell me. It is up to you to believe or disbelieve." To Kara she also says, "I can answer specific questions, if you wish."

In the interest of time, I'll probably not do a full reading, but if you ask a question I'll perform a choosing based off of it.

Razvan discretely inspects the Harrow card reader's hands as she addresses the man claiming to be a Paladin. The hands can tell alot about a person if you knew what to look for. The wealthy had few scars and soft supple skin free from the callouses that hard labor brings. Scholars often showed subtle discoloration from inks and burns gained from long hours of studying books by candle light. Ironically, the poor hard working wretches' hand revealed the least protected by a camouflage of scars, callouses, and dirt. There were clues everywhere for those who cared to look.

"Will I conquer mighty foes?"Razvan barks.

Hide in plain sight. Give the crowd what they expect, a brute, and be unforgettable. Will she tell me that I am a mighty warrior and reveal herself a charlatan?

A sudden howl of a wolf that seems unnaturally close causes several patrons to startle. Someone adds wood to an alreading roaring fire mumbling about a chill in the air. None are moving to leave the safety of a well lit room for the foggy road.

Silver Crusade

Hmm...Curious. Something to think about, for sure. A Paladin should always be sure they don't stray from their path.

Anselm steeples his hands on the table and nods, his brow furrowed. You've given me much to think about, Lady, and I thank you for that.

Looking over at Razvan, he's not quite sure what to make of the half-orc. Usually they have enough confidence to not need the encouragement of soothsayers. Indeed, both human and orc cultures have an overabundance of confidence. There must be something different about this one.

At the sound of the wolf howl, Anselm looks towards the source of the sound, but is otherwise unshaken. Just a wolf. Nothing special. Could be much worse.

Good stuff!

I will update my list of applicants tomorrow morning sometime. Love the RP

At Razvan's question, Kara draws The Beating. "The Beating tells me that you will encounter a mighty foe, or many foes. While you may be able to defeat them, it won't be without some pain and suffering. This harm can lead to a mental breakdown. You must be sure to steel your mind, in order to not lose yourself."

"Look at us, a motely gathering. Sitting 'round, sharing and chattering. A harrower, a paladin, a former nobility. With half-orc and catfolk of cheerful felicity. Professor Lorrimor must have been far beyond extraordinary to bring us all here today. It is proper and necessary to limit our idle talk, and speak of the great accomplishments of the Professor. How did you come to meet him?"

Making sure to address everyone in the group around the table, she continues. "I am Lady Jen, the noble scion of a family that no longer exists. The Professor sheltered me and gave me an education, so that I could continue onwards with independence instead of hoping for marriage."

"I am Kara Soltani and a Harrower by trade. Professor Lorrimor was the first man to offer me a job, to perform Harrowings for him prior to his travels, at a time when most thought me too young. I am eternally grateful for his confidence in me." Kara shakes Jen's hand and looks at the rest of the group to see if anyone else joins in the conversation.
