Jerin |
We still have the entire palace to fight :) ...I have almost all of my magic left, plus several enchantments on me now. We still have to finish him...but hopefully the rest of the family will not be as tough...
Round 6 action
Jerin will 5' step to H25 and then cast another spell on the Dwarf, making his entire body glow with power. Cast Heroism on Krenn. +2 to hit/damage and pretty much everything! 90 minutes.
AC:23
HP: 39/61

Curnach Daveck the Dwarf |
Round 6 Action-
The huge dire lion continues to maintain its pin on Glorio, raking him with vicious claws as its jaw stays latched around his middle.
1d20 + 32 ⇒ (11) + 32 = 43
1d8 + 18 ⇒ (2) + 18 = 20 (I forgot to include BS to damage previously) Rake 1
1d8 + 18 ⇒ (3) + 18 = 21 Rake 2
Meanwhile, Curnach conjures a blade of pure flame from his right hand, gripping it and swinging it with apparent ease, ready to strike Glorio.
Cast Flame Blade.

Round 6
Order:
Curnach Daveck
Jerinthian Kos
Glorio Arkona
Llyra Bjorgan
Krenn Whetstone
The Rakshasa's resiliant skin resists against the attacks, but they still manage to take their toll on the creature before attempting to break free of the creature.
attack: 1d20 + 20 ⇒ (5) + 20 = 25
Llyra Bjorgan |
Round 6
I pat Krenn on the back again - Touch of Luck (may reroll and d20 you want for next round)
Hit the kitty hard, make him feel the vengeance of your blade, make him feel the pain he has caused this city.
Move Action - I hand the Keen Rapier +2 to Krenn.
Try this, it may not have the punch of your axe, but it is the sharpest blade you have ever seen.
This will give him a crit range of 15-20 with only a loss of 1 on damage and 2 attack for losing the weapon focus/specialization. As the rapier is a one-handed weapon, he can use it with 2 hands for the 1.5x strength.
Krenn Weststone |
Even though he has lived longer then all of them combined, Krenn had come to trust his companions strongly, especially in matters of the arcane and divine. In a magically induced blur, Krenn snatches the weapon from Llyra, brings it overhead with both hands before bringing it down on the struggling Glorio.
Not sure if Llyra holding the rapier out for him gives him a chance for a full attack or not, but I'll put out the rolls for it just in case. Please disregard second and third attacks if he only gets his standard action attack.

Llyra, you saw where I was still previewing the post to see if I needed to add the luck re-rolls. It looks like it worked out okay after all. :)
Second Edit: Thanks, adding in the crit confirm re-rolls now.
Llyra Bjorgan |
Krenn might want to post the basis for his attack/damage bonuses so that he is not missing any +. I have no clue what all he has at this point, but there are a number of them and that extra +1 or +2 makes a big difference on some of the crit confirm rolls.
DM Aron Marczylo |
Krenn's attacks, poke and prod, the first and final causing small pain, however the second attack stabbed deep into Glorio and racks him with pain. Seems like the most painful attack done yet.
The doors shake as the sounds of voices eminate from the doors. They doors open inwards into the room so they are unable to be opened.
Round 7
Order:
Curnach Daveck
Jerinthian Kos
Glorio Arkona
Llyra Bjorgan
Krenn Whetstone
Jerin |
You might want to adjust Curnach, he is going right after me now since he delayed. Of course no one really knows there is a wall of Force there :), they may be banging on the door for some time...
Jerin casts his extended Shield spell, duration 18 minutes.
AC:27
HP: 39/61

Haste 3/5
Aura of Despair 5/9

Curnach Daveck the Dwarf |
Yup my init is now after Jerin.
Curnach attacks furiously with his flame blade, the fiery weapon burning and singing skin that is proving particularly resistant to physical damage, the tiger-like humanoid powerless to dodge Curnach's fairly inept blows. The lion continues to keep Glorio pinned within its mouth, raking him further with vicious claws.
1d20 + 8 ⇒ (3) + 8 = 11 Hit VS Touch AC minus dex/dodge and -4 from pinned
1d8 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6 Fire Damage, no DR
1d20 + 8 ⇒ (2) + 8 = 10 Hit VS Touch AC minus dex/dodge and -4 from pinned
1d8 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8 Fire Damage, no DR
1d20 + 3 ⇒ (7) + 3 = 10 Hit VS Touch AC minus dex/dodge and -4 from pinned
1d8 + 4 ⇒ (6) + 4 = 10 Fire Damage, no DR
24 fire damage total :).
1d20 + 32 ⇒ (12) + 32 = 44 CMB to Pin (success)
1d8 + 18 ⇒ (6) + 18 = 24 Rake 1
1d8 + 18 ⇒ (3) + 18 = 21 Rake 2
Llyra Bjorgan |
Lol - I know, what I meant was that if he gets a crit, there is no need to reroll - although he still can if he wishes to as it is the higher, not the latter roll which is taken. It is just fun making him roll as many as 12d20 for attacks if he gets crits on the attacks.
DM Aron Marczylo |
Glorio takes a horrible burn from Curnach's blade as he continues to fight this impossibly huge lion.
CMB: 1d20 + 20 ⇒ (17) + 20 = 37
Krenn Weststone |
Krenn keeps a grim facade as he continues to lash out at Glorio with the rapier. Clutching it in both hands, he swings it more like a short spear than an elegant thrusting weapon.
First to hit 1d20 + 18 ⇒ (11) + 18 = 29
Second to hit 1d20 + 18 ⇒ (5) + 18 = 23
Third to hit 1d20 + 18 ⇒ (12) + 18 = 30
First Damage 1d6 + 18 ⇒ (3) + 18 = 21
Second Damage 1d6 + 18 ⇒ (5) + 18 = 23
Third Damage 1d6 + 18 ⇒ (2) + 18 = 20
Bit O' Luck for first to hit 1d20 + 18 ⇒ (2) + 18 = 20
Bit O' Luck for second to hit 1d20 + 18 ⇒ (11) + 18 = 29
Bit O' Luck for third to hit 1d20 + 18 ⇒ (5) + 18 = 23
Doesn't look like any critical threats there. Amazingly enough.
DM Aron Marczylo |
Glorio takes the blade thrusts as it barely hurts him or passes through his skin, but he does generally look weaker than before.
Llyra's turn?
DM Aron Marczylo |
Round 8
Order:
Jerinthian Kos
Curnach Daveck
Glorio Arkona
Llyra Bjorgan
Krenn Whetstone
Jerin |
Jerin with little left in his arsenal to Effect Glorio and his current situation, Jerin starts to delay...
AC:27
HP: 39/61

Mage Armor 17.5 hours
Blessing of the Fervor 6/7 +2 AC/Ref Saves
Stoneskin: 90min 90/90
Wall of force 7/9
Haste 4/5
Aura of Despair 6/9
Shield 18 minute
Quickly now, finish him before my spells expire!
Curnach Daveck the Dwarf |
Yup Blessing of Fervor has a few rounds on it. Its when Curnach's summon expires we're in trouble...
Nothing at all can be learnt from Knowledge (Nature)?
1d20 + 14 ⇒ (6) + 14 = 20
Curnach continues to scorch Glorio with his deadly blade of fire as the lion maintains its pin and continues to rake the thing's flesh.
Weren't you just mocking nature only moments ago, Glorio? It seems ironic that a beast of nature is your undoing...
1d20 + 32 ⇒ (15) + 32 = 47 CMB to maintain pin (success)
1d8 + 18 ⇒ (6) + 18 = 24 Rake 1
1d8 + 18 ⇒ (3) + 18 = 21 Rake 2
1d20 + 8 ⇒ (12) + 8 = 20 Hit VS Touch AC minus dex/dodge and -4 from pinned and -2 from jerin's aura
1d8 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6 Fire damage, no DR
1d20 + 8 ⇒ (5) + 8 = 13 Hit VS Touch AC minus dex/dodge and -4 from pinned and -2 from jerin's aura
1d8 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6 Fire damage, no DR
1d20 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 = 8 Hit VS Touch AC minus dex/dodge and -4 from pinned and -2 from jerin's aura
1d8 + 4 ⇒ (7) + 4 = 11 Fire damage, no DR
DM Aron Marczylo |
Glorio is still alive, even though he's being smashed to peices by these attacks, however he does look in very bad shape, yet keeps fighting to break out.
CMB 1d20 + 20 ⇒ (2) + 20 = 22
Krenn Weststone |
Now it is starting to get comical as Krenn continues to stab, over and over, trying to put and end to him.
F&%king DIE!!! he roars in rage.
First to hit 1d20 + 18 ⇒ (6) + 18 = 24
Second to hit 1d20 + 18 ⇒ (14) + 18 = 32
Third to hit 1d20 + 18 ⇒ (11) + 18 = 29
First Damage 1d6 + 18 ⇒ (6) + 18 = 24
Second Damage 1d6 + 18 ⇒ (2) + 18 = 20
Third Damage 1d6 + 18 ⇒ (6) + 18 = 24
Bit O' Luck for first to hit 1d20 + 18 ⇒ (6) + 18 = 24
Bit O' Luck for second to hit 1d20 + 18 ⇒ (14) + 18 = 32
Bit O' Luck for third to hit 1d20 + 18 ⇒ (19) + 18 = 37
Third re-roll looks like a crit. Confirm and confirm re-roll....
1d20 + 18 ⇒ (11) + 18 = 29
1d20 + 18 ⇒ (3) + 18 = 21
Added damage 1d6 + 19 ⇒ (4) + 19 = 23
DM Aron Marczylo |
Krenn's relently attacks continue on until the final hit he drives the blade straight through Glorio's face, killing him instantly as he stops moving. As a notive outsider his physical body remains there as you hear the noise of people trying to break in, but the doors are held shut from the wall of force.
Llyra Bjorgan |
Taking my rapier back from Krenn and handing him his axe I grin. Told you that was the sharpest blade I had ever seen. Even with his nearly impenetrable hide, it cut through with your skill.
I pause for a moment.
How long does your wall have? If we hide the body and I take some of his clothes, I can try to fool the guards with my disguise.
Disguise(to look like Glorio): 1d20 + 16 ⇒ (15) + 16 = 31
Lets get everything he has.
I cast Detect Magic.
Perception: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (11) + 14 = 25 <-- Do I find anything, not just on Glorio, but in the room?
Llyra Bjorgan |
As you will. I find that a little deception can go a long way to undermining an enemy. If they think that Glorio is fine, we can get the leg up on the next group or two.
With what this scum has done to the city, I have no problem laying waste to his entire family and their retinue, I just want to make sure that all four of us and Vencarlo and the Steward walk out as well.
Thinking of which, how much is Jerin down by? I will cast some heal spells unless you have a bunch of CLW charges on that wand.
Curnach Daveck the Dwarf |
We're still in initiative and Curnach's said more than his share this round. I'd suggest spending some channels to heal- but try not to use your spells. We have my goodberries and a wand of cure moderate if necessary. If you ever have to be casting any of the 'Cure' spells I will feel like I have failed the group.
Krenn Weststone |
Krenn returns the rapier and collects his axe and shield. If no one objects, he'll take a round to pitch Glorio, body, gear and all, into the bag of holding. I don't think there is much in there now so he should fit.
I suspect with the noise it would be hard to pass off as though nothing happened. And as convincing as I'm sure you would be impersonating him, I doubt we would be a solid supporting cast for you.
DM Aron Marczylo |
should be round 9 after Llyra's first channel energy. No other actions and how long does the wallof force have left?
Curnach Daveck the Dwarf |
And my lion expires at the same time. Actions-
Round 9-
Curnach casts Greater Animal Shape on himself, and his tough Dwarven body takes on some characteristics of an ape, granting him greater resilience and eyesight.
+2 Fort and +2 Perception.
Round 10-
Curnach delays, moving so he can see the door and out of it once it opens but firmly behind Krenn towards the rear wall of the room.
So I have a Round 10 action to take, but i'll take it on initiative count 1 after everything else has gone.
Jerin |
Round 9 Speak,
I think it will likely just delay the inevitable Llyra.
Krenn bock the door, depending on the # of foes I will drop the black tentacles of doom right at the edge of the hallway into this room to tie most of them up!
Delay in round 10 to see what opens the door, I will be straight back in the room opposite the doors.
DM Aron Marczylo |
Llyra sees nothing else in the room magical besides the group's equipment and Glorio's body and various items.
Just as the wall goes down three Rashakas burst through. One with the head of a boar, another with a ape's head and the final one with a cobra head. All weilding Kukris.
They narrow their eyes and grin at the sight of the dead Bahor, though one of them looks unsure.
"You know the Arkona secret. You cannot leave here alive!" they grin and move into combat.
Group Initiative:
Curnach Daveck: 28
Jerinthian Kos: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (18) + 5 = 23
Krenn Whetstone: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (10) + 3 = 13
Llyra Bjorgan: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (11) + 3 = 14
Glorio: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (7) + 11 = 18
1d20 + 9 ⇒ (18) + 9 = 27
Order:
Rashakas
Jerinthian
llyra
Krenn
Curnach
Round 10
The first two attack llyra with their kukri's and the final against Jerin.
attack vs Llyra: 1d20 + 16 ⇒ (8) + 16 = 24
attack vs Llyra: 1d20 + 16 ⇒ (3) + 16 = 19
attack vs Jerin: 1d20 + 16 ⇒ (4) + 16 = 20
movement for them involved opening the door on their round so only got 1 action.
Llyra Bjorgan |
Heh - I should have had a Copycat(mirror image up, but it looks like I did not.
5-foot step to H23.
Move: - Create Copycat Mirror Image
Standard: Cast Bless - +1 to all attacks and saves vs. fear
Wow, and I thought the cat was ugly.

oh wait, you did. Roll for the miss chance to see if it instead hit a double.
