I know the game you mean, Jacob (GM) is one of my first PbP players here. Just to tease you, I read the spoilers... Na na na na na!

(Master of Procrastination and Grognardia)

Love the roleplay with trying to decide weather to trust Laori or not. She is of course a open woreshipper of the Prince of Darkness and he is a LE deity, just like Asmodaeus, which there are temples of in Korvosa, though they don't practice slavery of course but the religon is tolerated due to the lawful side.

She has shown no resistance and willing to co-operate with you all as well as help you all with your mission though she is still a evil character and as Curnach has said he suspects there is a greater scale of things in the works.

(Male Human Wizard (FC) 9 - Enchanter)

Yeah, being out of charms for the day is not helping either...I need to revise my spell selection while in the city... did my last one based off the last dungeon we were in...

While I have never done it, there is the option of leaving 1-2 spell slots open. My understanding is thatch only takes like 15 minutes to memorize these last few spells. Sort of like being a delayed sorcerer.

To be honest i'd like to strip her of all her possessions, buy some masterwork manacles to keep her in and stash her safely somewhere for a while. When Jerin hits 7th level we can dominate her to learn her true purpose, charm won't be enough.

Her deal should be a last resort; we're half an hour into our own investigation.

Waiting for Krenn to weigh in.

I assume you mean 9th, but yes at that point she will be my personal healbot... :)

Is that an evil act? lol's

(HP 20/94, AC 25/13/23 CMD 18, F +10, R +7, W +16, P +21, In +8, AOO +1)

... Not going to happen lol.

We could however, lesser geas her into telling us her true purpose. If she doesn't do it she can enjoy a -8 to all of her ability scores.

(HP 74/83 (-1 CN, fatigued, AC 27/24/15, F+15, R+10, W+5 Initiative +3, Perception +12)

Well, if we have other avenues to investigate, then I'd prefer that. But it may behoove us to go ahead with her; the enemy of my enemy and all of that.

But Krenn is most likely to defer to the wiser and more intellectual bountiful amongst us.

Ahh so siding with the don't trust her tactic despite her being your only lead?

(HP 20/94, AC 25/13/23 CMD 18, F +10, R +7, W +16, P +21, In +8, AOO +1)

As i've said, we've been looking for this man for half an hour, we're not at a loss yet!

Krenn you can't really sit on the fence here

(Master of Procrastination and Grognardia)

Is a pain that it pigeon holes you, however as it's written it sounds good but that's only if you're willing to follow suit. None of you are paladins or preists of Shelyn so she has no distrust of you guys.

Just a heads up, I'm going to be staying at Alex's for a bit so I'll be travelling to Ukrain on the 9th so posing will be slow whilst I'm over there taking it easy. Just a heads up.

So we should do all of our actions in slow motion like the old Six Million Dollar Man show?

lol, nah I'm just going to be slow at replying that's all. Just a warning that if you're wondering "why hasn't the DM replied?" you'll know why.

Alina and I do about 6 hours work a day so I expect Aron will have ample time to reply :P

For any of you too young to have experienced the amazing slow motion of the Six Million Dollar Man, here is a brief example.

Or I end up bothering you two :p

And I should be too young to remember the six million dollar man, but I loved watching old programs on TV with my parents so I've seen the six million dollar man, the avengers, Quantum Leap, Murder She Wrote and others I can't think off the top of my head. Oh, Space 1999, Buck Rogers, Battle Star Galactica, Blake 7, Fireball XL5, Thunderbirds, Captain Scarlet, Terrahawks. Could go on forever really :p

Oh and I've even seen the craptacular Star Wars Holiday Special.

(Master of Procrastination and Grognardia)

Hi alex, just to let you know I've touched down in Kiev. Tried to phone alina and said number was wrong, but that was because I missed out the 7 :p. Will be boarding in half an hour as the ticket says. Tried alina's correct number and it says she's unavailable, but will keep trying.

Taldor (Male Abomination Procastinator / 10, DM / 5, Student / 2, Sloth Demon / 20)

An amusing way of letting me know :P

Careful there Aron, this is Kiev, next door to Chernobyl. They may well have Otyughs in the sewers.

Taldor (Male Abomination Procastinator / 10, DM / 5, Student / 2, Sloth Demon / 20)

Heh, very true. Luckily hes not leaving the airport and Odessa's a lot nicer :).

Ah, Black Sea, isn't Trotsky from there?

Gf is not sure but google says he went to school there.

(Female Aasimar Cleric 7/Rogue 2) (HP: 68/78; AC: 25; FF: 21; Touch: 14)

Wrote a paper on him in high school, like 25 years ago. I think he is actually from some small town on the coast of the Black Sea and then moved/went to school in Odessa. An interesting individual if any of those countries acknowledge his existence these days.

Safe travels, Aron!

(Master of Procrastination and Grognardia)

Well I made it here. Definantly a nice change as there are no crying babies I have to worry about here nor REALLY annoying kids from social services.

In case you are wondering who TarkXT is in the Kingmaker campaign, he wrote the book on clerics.

Aron, are you still active in the SdF Kingmaker thread? You might want to drop in there.

(Master of Procrastination and Grognardia)

yeah sorry, not been around too much. Been running around after kids since friday and needed to escape reality without doing anything :p

Aron, you are up in the SdF Kingmaker game.

(Female Aasimar Cleric 7/Rogue 2) (HP: 68/78; AC: 25; FF: 21; Touch: 14)

HP - level 8 - 1d8 ⇒ 4
Skills - Perception x2, Sense Motive, Diplomacy

DM Aron:

If we are changing things. One thing that I think I foolishly did was to take 4 levels in rogue and only 3 in cleric. Would it be too much of a change to drop to 2 rogue levels and bump up the cleric by 2? This would not change the HP, I would have to drop 12 skill ranks (which will suck) and will lose the trap spotting rogue talent, but will get 2 more levels of cleric spells which should be quite useful and my channel energy will increase to 3d6. If this is not ok, that is fine.

(Master of Procrastination and Grognardia)

Llyra Bjorgan wrote:

** spoiler omitted **

Llyra:

yes, that's perfectly reasonable. I just want to do this as a last change before we move the story on because the creatures get tougher and the stakes get higher.

(Male Human Wizard (FC) 9 - Enchanter)

No changes for Jerin.
8th level Wizard.
HP: 3+2+1 (FC)
+1 INT to 25
+1 BAB
+1 Will Save
8th level enchanter power: Aura of Despair (8r)
2 spells:
Greater Invisibility
Wall of Fire

Aron, do you have an issue with this spell from UM:
Overwhelming Grief
School enchantment (compulsion) [emotion, mind-affecting]; Level bard 3, sorcerer/wizard 4
Casting Time 1 standard action
Components V, S
Range close (25 ft. + 5 ft./2 levels)
Target one creature
Duration 1 round/level
Saving Throw Will negates (see text); Spell Resistance yes

Not going to take it now but may buy it....

Skills 8+2 for headband:
Bluff
Escape Artist (headband)
Fly (headband)
Intimidate
Know:
Arcana
Nature
Planes
Religion
Perception
Spellcraft

(Male Human Wizard (FC) 9 - Enchanter)

Aron, how are you going to play my Aura of Despair. Mostly around activation vs. maintaining, the rules are pretty vague unless some errata has clarified.
Can I assume:
Standard action to activate.
Free action to maintain or stop?
Thanks!

(Master of Procrastination and Grognardia)

I honestlycan't find Aura of Dispair anywhere...

(Female Aasimar Cleric 7/Rogue 2) (HP: 68/78; AC: 25; FF: 21; Touch: 14)

Aura of Despair is the 8th level Enchanter ability:

Aura of Despair (Su)

At 8th level, you can emit a 30-foot aura of despair for a number of rounds per day equal to your wizard level. Enemies within this aura take a –2 penalty on ability checks, attack rolls, damage rolls, saving throws, and skill checks. These rounds do not need to be consecutive. This is a mind-affecting effect.

I also do not see any description of how to start/end the ability. I would think that starting it as a standard action and continuing it as a free or swift action or something of that sort would be reasonable. Dismissing should be a free action I would think. Just my 2 cents.

Taldor (Male Abomination Procastinator / 10, DM / 5, Student / 2, Sloth Demon / 20)

When not specified, standard action to activate, free to maintain or dismiss.

(Master of Procrastination and Grognardia)

Alexander Kilcoyne wrote:

Thanks, there's the answer then. Where's the roll for Curnach's hp or did you take the average on him?

(Male Human Wizard (FC) 9 - Enchanter)

Jerin is smart, he always takes the average, hedging his bet.

Just wanted to confirm the power, sometimes DM's house rules stuff. Thanks! Will update his sheet as soon as we get somewhere we can rest.

Taldor (Male Abomination Procastinator / 10, DM / 5, Student / 2, Sloth Demon / 20)

I haven't had time to update Curnach yet- valentines day yesterday and works had me busy all day.

Yeah forgot to ask about V day...heh sounds like something involving lizard aliens calling it that.

(HP 20/94, AC 25/13/23 CMD 18, F +10, R +7, W +16, P +21, In +8, AOO +1)

Will update character when I get home.

(HP 20/94, AC 25/13/23 CMD 18, F +10, R +7, W +16, P +21, In +8, AOO +1)

Still not home but slowly working on char. HP roll- 1d8 + 3 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 3 + 1 + 1 = 11.

Edit: Yeah, I can cope with 83HP...

nice roll and it's okey, no rush needed.

(HP 20/94, AC 25/13/23 CMD 18, F +10, R +7, W +16, P +21, In +8, AOO +1)

I think i'm done. Spell Focus (Conj) and Augment Summoning switched for Heighten Spell and Empower Spell.

Expect Empowered Fireballs in my spell slots tomorrow ;).

(Female Aasimar Cleric 7/Rogue 2) (HP: 68/78; AC: 25; FF: 21; Touch: 14)

Lol - BOOM

(HP 94/94, AC 25/13/23 CMD 18, F +10, R +7, W +16, P +21, In +8, AOO +1)

I think I just spotted a DM slip... Anyone else have a sudden urge to leave Korvosa slowly springing to life?

(Master of Procrastination and Grognardia)

Curnach Daveck the Dwarf wrote:

a slip?

(HP 94/94, AC 25/13/23 CMD 18, F +10, R +7, W +16, P +21, In +8, AOO +1)

Either a slip from you or Salvatore is seemingly obsessed with the idea of us leaving Korvosa, even as we are discussing storming the Arkonas...

(Master of Procrastination and Grognardia)

Curnach Daveck the Dwarf wrote:

Basically as you've mentioned that Vencarlo has not returned and he told Salvatore how he suspects the Arkonas being involved in many crimes he just realised that they might be a powerful crime family and now he sees the best option is to leave the city.

He did hand over Neolandus to the Arkonas so he's afraid that if Vencarlo mentioned where he got the info, then they might decide to silence Salvatore.

Tell me when you want to storm the Arkonas or if you wish to spend the night somewhere before going to tackle them.

Edit: After everything else that's happened, he's also afraid that the city is falling apart all around him and he'd rarther get the hell out of there.
