I'm inclined to have Jakob leave to go on a journey of self discovery- his heart hasn't been in this for some time. Any other suggestions as to how I can write him out asap? My players keep telling me I have a vengeful and disturbing penchant for slaughtering ex-PC's how nicely I always write ex-PC's out of a story :), but i'm having trouble with inspiration for it :P.

I actually don't think I ever watched The Partridge Family, though I do remember watching Gilligan's Island as a child when I'd spend the night at my grandparents' house.
As for Jakob, perhaps word comes that his family are moving into the land he himself was awarded and/or terrorizing the tenant farmers, and after that's dealt with, he either settles down or goes off on his journey of self-discovery?

Only retcon I have in mind is to change the base point-buy array used at Ansha's character creation from the 16/16/15/10/10/8 array to the 16/16/14/10/10/10 array. (Base stats end up being, post-racial modifiers, S 10 D 12 C 12 I 18 W 10 Ch 16.)

Of course, I'd really prefer if I could get the +2 INT bonus on my bonded item, hence my earlier question to AK. (It's an aesthetics thing, but headbands just don't work for me.)

I'm actually kind of stuck on what skill the headband-style enchantment should have tied to it. Craft (sculpture), Perception, Use Magic Device, and Disable Device are all possibilities....

BAB and saves are handled by HeroLab, so I'm assuming they're right without checking the book to report them here. :P
EDIT: Meh, just comparing old and new stat blocks, looks like +1 BAB, +1 Fort, +1 Will.
And I'm not buying anything now. I'm less than 200 gp from the headband of mental prowess. You think we can loot 1000 gp worth of stuff from whoever's attacking the camp to split 5 ways? ;)

Right-o - I figured I'd cast eyes across what utility bits n bobs we all had since our CLW wand is disappearing with Jakob to parts unknown.

I guess enchanting the Aldori dueling sword and the mithral shirt are both obvious and safe choices. I have been thinking about actually commissioning an entirely new sword made of either adamantine (bypasses hardness) or mithral (counts as silver) and having that one enchanted though (leaning towards the adamantine). It would cost quite a bit, but I am thinking it as a sort of investment for the future, plus it looks cool. :-P What do you guys think?
I am also going to replace his two regular daggers with one made of alchemical silver and one made of cold iron.
Other than the above, not really sure. Probably save the rest for future purchases.

I'm reasonably flexible on enchanting items in different slots but not comfortable doing so with the headbands and belt slot. I'd like to keep those tied to mental and physical bonuses. You may re-fluff the headband as something else, provided it takes up the head slot regardless.
Remember once a weapon is sufficiently enchanted it counts as various materials at any rate Kieran. As your not going full BAB you (in my humble opinion) are likely going to want more enhancement bonus on your weapon to compensate. ALso bear in mind that your on double the usual Wealth by Level.

Although Kieran is not full BAB due to multiclassing, the only level that does not increase his base attack bonus is the 1st level of rogue (the idea is for him to be a fighter 6/rogue 4/duelist 10 at 20th level, so his BAB at that level would be +19, just one less than a full BAB class). So each new level will be increasing his base attack bonus quite steadily from now on. Besides, while Qhude is an offensive monster, Kieran is a bit more on the defensive side anyway, I think.
I too thought of the fact that the enhancement bonus eventually also makes the weapon count as if it is made of the material needed to bypass DR (+4 counts as adamantine, for example), but it still will not count as adamantine as far as ignoring hardness is concerned. And I rather like the idea of the wannabe master swordsman and duelist having a weapon being forged of some rare metal and made for him alone. I do readily admit that the whole adamantine thing is mostly for aesthetic and fluff purposes and a bit less for its practical and mechanical side.
Still, personal preferences aside, I would hate to have my choices affect the party's continued survival and success negatively, which is why I am asking for thoughts and opinions about this. :-)

Would a circlet of vast intelligence (still taking the headband slot) work, and would it be possible to enchant the choker with the circlet of persuasion bonus then?
Also, thank you for the offer, Qhude, but I think I'm going to stick to my original plan. Gives me some money for scrolls that way. Besides, would Qhude really be so generous to a woman he's quite suspicious of? ;P
F. Castor, I think that commissioning an enchanted adamantine sword sounds like a good idea, personally.

That's as it should be. I do not see N'bellocq saving for a raining day. Although I would have liked to chip in for communal potions/wands, just not in the coins this level.
N'bellocq will spend down time hunting and collecting fruit, vegetables and nuts, trying to keep fresh food coming into the camp. He will run/ swim/climb in the morning and then hunt on his way back to camp. Maybe fish in the evenings if we are near a water source.

I'd allow circlet of persuasion on the choker but per the RAW on it. I believe thats +50% cost for putting it on a different slot, anyone rules savvy in this area confirm?
That's how my tabletop group has always done it in the past...Don't suppose I could get the standard half-price for enchanting an item myself on my own bonded item, at least, though?
If not, Ansha may need to find a way to get money from Qhude after all!

Question related to the future more than the here-and-now:
The PRD indicates that adding abilities to an already-magical item costs the price of the enhancement minus the price of the original item. But it also says that adding an ability to an item tied to a slot adds 50% to the price.
So would converting a headband of vast intelligence +2 to a headband of mental prowess +2 cost 10000-4000 = 6000gp or 10000x50% (15000)-4000 = 9000gp? Or would it just cost 15000gp?

Ansha, I think it would cost 10000 - 4000 = 6000 gold pieces to upgrade it. I believe the whole 50% thing is already calculated in the cost of the headband of mental prowess (4000 gp for the first ability enhancement bonus, 4000 + 50% increase = 6000 gp for the second, making it a total of 10000 gp).
