Bad DM. No biscuit. ;P
Two of my games are in combat rounds; two of them the DMs are in deep denial about ever getting them running again and refuse to face facts and mark them as inactive; two are run by a DM who's offline until Tuesday for fear of being accidentally spoiled for the Doctor Who 50th anniversary before he can see it; and one is in sandbox-inflicted option paralysis. You're my only hope, AK.
Ansha |
It just makes sense in my head for Ansha to have 17+ Int and Charisma scores, and middling everything else.
I've never really liked spontaneous casters. I prefer a bit more versatility than sorcerers get; and I grew up with 1st/2nd edition AD&D computer games like Baldur's Gate and Icewind Dale (not to mention the old SSI Gold Box games like Gateway to the Savage Frontier), so I'm used to the wizard style of Vancian magic.
Ansha's morphed a bit since I first started playing her, too. Back in 3.5, my tabletop group used a seventh Appearance stat separate from Charisma. Back then, her Charisma was 10 and her Appearance was like 20 (whatever splatbook we were using gave elves a bonus to Appearance). Then we started playing Pathfinder and we folded Appearance and Charisma together again.
Besides, I've always liked enchanter specialist wizards, and I often hear that they should have decent Charisma scores.

Is it just me, or is this chick Seoni's evil brunette identical cousin a la Bewitched and I Dream of Jeannie? Same dress, same leg tattoos, same silicone enhancements....

I have some bad news.
As you have no doubt noticed I have not been keeping up with the posting part of this play by post. My workplace has tightened up on 'personal' use of the net so I am really only able to post on weekends/evenings and that has simply not been happening.
I am afraid I need to exit this game. I am very sorry, you are all excellent players and as I have said before Alexander Kilcoyne's game are the gold standard for play-by-post. I will miss you all.
I hope this will not cause too much disruption and I will follow your exploits with great enthusiasm.
Your former party member.
Jakob.
Poor Wandering One |
Sorry to see you go, Jakob. It's been fun having you with us--sadly, I foresee the party will descend into barbarism and debauchery (well, moreso than it already has) without its moral compass. ;P
Moral compass? That would be Tebati. Jakob stopped being useful/needed somewhere before Freehold. Still it was fun tagging along.

Have we also lost Meowzebub?
I see no reason to call time of death on the game unless other people are also wanting to give it up. We're on the verge of some more semi-downtime and level up anyway so a pretty convenient time to make these decisions.
1- Is our friendly Zen Archer still with us?
2- Does the group want to continue as a 5 (or 4) or recruit other players? I am completely and utterly indifferent on this point; I could go either way.
3- I'm trying to pace this so I update daily except on weekends. I will also always bot (as long as I can get to the PC myself) after i've been waiting 24 hours for a player (or a weekend where i'm more lenient). Is this an issue for people?
Ansha |
I'm okay with 5, a bit iffy on four but not opposed to it. Not sure we've lost Meowzebub yet, but who knows. If we decide to recruit, we do still have a pair of alternates from waaaay back when we started, plus the gentleman who made a pitch to join us (whose name I can't remember, and I don't have time to look it up atm).
Botting isn't an issue for me, but I'm almost always able to post more than once a day.
Incidentally, I will cling to this PbP til there's literally no life left in it, and then I'll try to give it CPR. It's the one I enjoy most of the three I'm in, even if it's not the most-updated.
Qhude |
Pretty sure that Meowzebub is still around, just busy - I've dropped him an email to check up.
Jakob - sorry to see you go... despite the tears and fears it was a fun ride.
I'm also in for the long long haul, and would be happily continue with 4 or 5.
Joana |
Can a Neutral character be a moral compass? Maybe like the stopped clock that's right twice a day. That or I'm not playing her right.
Sorry you're leaving us, PWO. Jakob's tilting at windmills will be missed. Thanks for being forthright about your intentions instead of just disappearing on us.
Meowzebub's been missing from Mark's game as well, but not for good, I don't think. Because I am an accomplished internet stalker, I note that he posted in one of his games that work was going to be busy for him until mid-December and posting might be scarce until then. Give him at least another week to check in, I'd say.
Definitely want to keep playing. I love Tebati and the group. If we haven't lost Meow, I'm happy with five; if we have, we might want to look to add some ranged capabilities ... assuming we're not going to be dungeon-crawling most of the time anyway. Ranged characters don't get to have a great deal of fun in enclosed spaces.

I may have slowed down due to real life, I do admit, but I have no intention of dropping this game. I do not mind continuing with five players, although I am a fan of "the more the merrier" saying where a gaming party is concerned (up to a point, of course). As far as four go though, I think that in that case it would be better if we recruited some new blood.
DM Alexander Kilcoyne |
Thanks for the reassurance guys. Truth be told I am getting very weary of losing players. At least Jakob is kind enough to make his intentions clear.
I agree 5 is probably a better number than 4. We'll give Meow some time.
As for recruitment, I don't want Overfiend in my games so he is off the list. I know DM Barcas is a busy chap these days so i'd rather not add another very busy person to my games.

Khaladon, maybe? (Now that I've actually had the time to look up who it was that requested to join the game previously.) Of course, he only explicitly mentioned Qhude and Jakob in his praises, and I do so love being praised....
(Also, no summoners.)
