I'm planning to explore the keep pretty much in narrative as your out of combat now, with a list of acquired items and things of note that you pick up on (i'll roll any required checks in secret). This will likely take a full day of game time, two if your also going to meticulously search the town, three if you want to map the hex too.

It is the 2nd of Lamashan, 4714; I had forgotten myself so thought i'd give a reminder.

You should note that in the campaign short description above there is a map of Varnhold and the Nomen Heights for your perusal. It is limited and is only to denote basic settlements etc. that you know of. Malthir please use this map as the basis for this chapter's mapping so as to avoid spoilers :).

That is level 8 for all of you. You can level up while your sorting out Varnhold for several days (the IC post I have made assumed several days).

I have a couple of points I want to address though. Firstly, there's a large WBL balancing issue i'd like us to handle maturely as players-

Kip's Audit in 2012

As you can see, Fenna, Ricter and Kip are way behind the others on the WBL table. My simplest proposal would be to give them double treasure shares until its a bit more fairly balanced, but ultimately this is in your hands. I can eventually fix it with individual rewards for these characters if that is your preference (such as the Hellknights rewarding Ricter).

Secondly, the mapping of Varnhold and this area of the map. Please remember your able to have your army map hexes for you as well as your lieutenants, if you don't want to get bogged down in it yourselves. The map should be a little sparser in encounters than the Greenbelt, partially as a result of Varn's actions, the book chapter itself and me taking away some encounters for the purposes of chapter progression and making up for the extra content I add in. Malthir, please note the hex of Varnhold as fully explored, as well as Varnhold Pass directly to the west of it, Kiravoy Bridge directly to its north-east, and the hex directly east of Varnhold.

The centaurs seem the most obvious course of action.

To be honest my thought around treasure is to let it sort itself out as other treasure comes up. The reason we have more is mostly because items we picked up form the loot threw us out of wack. If people have specific items they want and can't afford who are behind in treasure I have no issues with awarding them additional shares from new treasure to try and get these items. I am hopeful that as people pick up additional treaure from stuff we find it balances out as kip finds a +4 INT headband or something like that and balances him out. If it doesn't happen, that's when it sucks for players that are behind. Of course if we manually balance it out at retail then Kip finds a +6 headband for example then he gets way ahead and we have to do this again to try and get other players back in sync.

According to pure treaure share based upon the sale value vs. the retail value everyone should be relatively the same since everyone got the same shares but people such as Malthir grabbed a high ticket item at 50% off due to finding it as treasure vs. having to buy it.

To be honest I am fine with making sure people who are behind are made whole though so if we need to get any of you more treasure I am 100% cool with that as well.

In the case of Kip and Ricter its not just a case of the loot found or treasure shares- as you guys benefited from the crafting rules before I whacked them with the banhammer. I think more direct action is needed as a result.

I'd agree it normally balances out over time, but not in this case due to the crafting.

I found Ricter's somewhat short changed on skill points. Even when putting all his favoured class bonuses into HP, I still had one extra over what you allocated. I put it into perception, but you can easily trade up to 5HP into skill points with favoured class if you wish.

Or you can keep the extra HP you should have had :). Up to 81 now.

One more subtle change- Ricter can't take Wrack yet as the first discipline he takes must be from his specific order. This means Ricter has Shackle, which applies a Slow spell on any entity he smites for 1d4 rounds unless they make a successful saving throw. When you get your next discipline (Level 6) i'd highly recommend you take Fearsomeness, it is badass.

The saves for your Hellknight abilities are based off Charisma rather than Wisdom, as are your saving throws. I'd highly recommend putting stat point into Strength or Charisma; Charisma will boost your saves anyway and do more besides while Strength's uses are obvious :).

Power Attack got an upgrade as you just hit BAB+8. Factored it in below.

I haven't added the level 8 stat point here but it won't affect anything so just change it manually.

Ricter are you still with us? Not had a reply to my PM's and whatnot. I'd like to get your character sorted as per my post above ^^ before I take us into any more combat.
