Good summary, Rath. I did have Rath and Shoo still up on the King's shoulder, and Ragnar in Sahnd's tent, but that's an easy fix. You can all be in the cave together and taking a short rest. That works rather well and makes for a good segue into the next section.

I also had Sahnd unconscious, but if you guys want to interrogate him before we move on to the next part of the module, I can have him be awake.

Sorry if I wasn't clear. I thought I was clear enough - and obviously I'm not if most are confused about what's going on.

Male Dwarf Fighter (Unbreakable) 1

I continued the action because I was under the impression we weren't altogether already. Glad we are and can continue - please pretend that action I narrated already happen and we're now back at the cave.

Sounds good to me. I'll be updating later today when I get some more time. Also have to describe what Ragnar found in the tent.

Some people have requested a version of the map that doesn't link to Google drive.

Here it is: King's Pyre

It can also be found in the Campaign Tab.

Half-Elf Wizard 4 / Cleric 2 | HP 26/26 | AC 10 | Saves: S+0, D+0, C+0, I+3, W+5, Ch+3 | Init +0 | Spell DC 13 | Spells: 1st: 2/4, 2nd: 2/3, 3rd: 1/3 |Pass Perc 15 | Status: Norm | Insp: Yes | Channel 1/1

He was indeed under the spell of the dragon cult sorceress. I stand corrected.

Male Goliath Barbarian (Path of the Totem Warrior) 3 | Rages: 1/3 | HP: 18/32 | AC: 14 | Init + 2 | HD: 3/3 | Saves: Str + 5 Con + 4 Dex + 2 Int + 0 Wis + 1 Cha -1 | Perception + 3 Passive: 13 | Status: Normal | Inspiration: (-) |

That is what AL DM said when we got ambushed lol

Sorry for the delay, guys.

I'm in a lot of pain right now, and it's difficult to think. Have a nerve injury; doc says it will *hopefully* go away within 3-4 weeks. If not, I'll need an MRI.

So its challenging to do multiple things at the same time, like I typically do. Especially while also having to take care of two toddlers, cook dinner, clean house, etc..

I'll try to get a post up tonight after I put the kids to bed.

Male Human Varient | Battle Master Fighter 4 | Superiority Dice 4/4 | Maneuver DC: 14 | Action Surge unused | Second Wind used | HP: 34/36 | AC: 16 | Init +4 | Saves: S+1, D+4, Co+4, I+1, W+2, Ch0 | Pass Perc: 14 | Status: normal | Insp: 0

So as not to clutter up the game thread. Is there a difference between dropping the rapier and resheathing it? Mayhaps that is where I am getting my interact v action economy mixed up.

Also it was explained to me that the free interact was only with outside objects, like doors or levers.

This isn't something that comes up often at my tables because we are less concerned with action/item usage mechanics, and just go with the "You did the thing!" type story.

Eh. Not really. It's kind of a throwback to Pathfinder games, where those specific interactions are important.

I'm not a big stickler for RAW, but I try to keep to it in official games.

So long as you're not doing weapon switching shinanigans in order to maximize the potential of every possible rule interaction, then we can go with loose interpretations to make the game go faster and better.

In other words, don't try to munchkin and I won't care about being a rules stickler. :)

Everyone in this game is cool by my standards, so far.

But if we want to be technical, the Object Interaction rule specifically gives drawing a weapon as part of a movement or attack as an example of what an Object Interaction can be (among other things). And people argue that dropping a weapon shouldn't take up any time at all, and therefore shouldn't even count as interacting with an object. Jeremy Crawford has even said that dropping a weapon should be a "free action" and not object interaction if the player isn't trying to be rules manipulative over it. But if a player is trying to use that as an excuse to abuse the rules, then dropping a weapon should count as the one object interaction per round.

Half-Elf Wizard 4 / Cleric 2 | HP 26/26 | AC 10 | Saves: S+0, D+0, C+0, I+3, W+5, Ch+3 | Init +0 | Spell DC 13 | Spells: 1st: 2/4, 2nd: 2/3, 3rd: 1/3 |Pass Perc 15 | Status: Norm | Insp: Yes | Channel 1/1

My apologies all. For some reason I completely missed the paragraph about the magical armband, as such have been very confused up until now.

Half-Elf Wizard 4 / Cleric 2 | HP 26/26 | AC 10 | Saves: S+0, D+0, C+0, I+3, W+5, Ch+3 | Init +0 | Spell DC 13 | Spells: 1st: 2/4, 2nd: 2/3, 3rd: 1/3 |Pass Perc 15 | Status: Norm | Insp: Yes | Channel 1/1

A loosed owl bear will start an assault nicely.

Male Human Varient | Battle Master Fighter 4 | Superiority Dice 4/4 | Maneuver DC: 14 | Action Surge unused | Second Wind used | HP: 34/36 | AC: 16 | Init +4 | Saves: S+1, D+4, Co+4, I+1, W+2, Ch0 | Pass Perc: 14 | Status: normal | Insp: 0

Sashah, sacred flame is a d8, you may roll higher :D

Half-Elf Wizard 4 / Cleric 2 | HP 26/26 | AC 10 | Saves: S+0, D+0, C+0, I+3, W+5, Ch+3 | Init +0 | Spell DC 13 | Spells: 1st: 2/4, 2nd: 2/3, 3rd: 1/3 |Pass Perc 15 | Status: Norm | Insp: Yes | Channel 1/1

I could also roll lower. I will take the 4 if that is alright and roll a d8 in the future.

Don't forget to reset your inspiration! Everyone has it now.

Half-Elf Wizard 4 / Cleric 2 | HP 26/26 | AC 10 | Saves: S+0, D+0, C+0, I+3, W+5, Ch+3 | Init +0 | Spell DC 13 | Spells: 1st: 2/4, 2nd: 2/3, 3rd: 1/3 |Pass Perc 15 | Status: Norm | Insp: Yes | Channel 1/1

Sorry all for the lack of posting. I have been moving across the country from Michigan to Washington state. Be available in the next couple days.

No worries!

I tried to bot you as your character would do.

Sorry guys. Between my kids being sick, me getting sick, and trying to get my house ready for sale, I haven't been able to update the game.

I will try to get a post up tomorrow while I'm at work.

This is the end of Outlaws of the Iron Route. I hope you enjoyed it!

I will be calculating up XP and gold for you within a few days, and getting your log sheets to you.

There's also a +1 Longbow available for someone who wants it. The rules for getting a permanent magic item is the person with the fewest permanent magic items who wants it, gets it. If there's a tie, it's DM decision. My decision is to do a roll off with a d20.

Male Human Varient | Battle Master Fighter 4 | Superiority Dice 4/4 | Maneuver DC: 14 | Action Surge unused | Second Wind used | HP: 34/36 | AC: 16 | Init +4 | Saves: S+1, D+4, Co+4, I+1, W+2, Ch0 | Pass Perc: 14 | Status: normal | Insp: 0

Was fun, hopefully Rath's angst wasn't too bad for ppl.

Rath would clearly like the bow, being an archer and all. He has 0 magic items.

Male Human Fighter (Battlemaster) 3 | AC: 15 | Init: +3 | Saves: S +2, D +3, C +4, I +0, W +2, Ch +0 | Per: 14 | Insp: Yes | HP 28/28 | Battle Dice 0/4 | Maneuver DC: 13 | Surge: No | 2nd Wind: Yes | Status: Ok.

I would also like to keep the bow, of course. I have a healing potion, not sure it counts as a magic item. If it does, I won't play the smartass and drink it just before the adventure ends, don't worry :P

Male Human Varient | Battle Master Fighter 4 | Superiority Dice 4/4 | Maneuver DC: 14 | Action Surge unused | Second Wind used | HP: 34/36 | AC: 16 | Init +4 | Saves: S+1, D+4, Co+4, I+1, W+2, Ch0 | Pass Perc: 14 | Status: normal | Insp: 0

Consumables do not count, so you're good.

I loved Rath's angst. It was really fun and allowed for some great discourse. Especially with Shoo and Clyde.

This was a fun adventure to run, and you all were a great group of players.

Male Dwarf Fighter (Unbreakable) 1

With no magic items, I'd like to be part of the roll for it as well. My javelins are a weak way of fighting from range.

@AL: Thanks for hosting the game!

Male Goliath Barbarian (Path of the Totem Warrior) 3 | Rages: 1/3 | HP: 18/32 | AC: 14 | Init + 2 | HD: 3/3 | Saves: Str + 5 Con + 4 Dex + 2 Int + 0 Wis + 1 Cha -1 | Perception + 3 Passive: 13 | Status: Normal | Inspiration: (-) |

We're we able to locate the necklace? And what about Rathene?

Yes. It's part of the general loot. It was in that chest you never opened, which was also trapped if Sahnd didn't have his sword with him.

Basically, he kept his sword in the chest, which would magically animate and attack anyone without the password who tried to open it.

Rathene was tied up in one of the tents.

Half-Elf Wizard 4 / Cleric 2 | HP 26/26 | AC 10 | Saves: S+0, D+0, C+0, I+3, W+5, Ch+3 | Init +0 | Spell DC 13 | Spells: 1st: 2/4, 2nd: 2/3, 3rd: 1/3 |Pass Perc 15 | Status: Norm | Insp: Yes | Channel 1/1

I, as well, hope that Sashah's antics were not overly much to deal with.

Male Human Fighter (Battlemaster) 3 | AC: 15 | Init: +3 | Saves: S +2, D +3, C +4, I +0, W +2, Ch +0 | Per: 14 | Insp: Yes | HP 28/28 | Battle Dice 0/4 | Maneuver DC: 13 | Surge: No | 2nd Wind: Yes | Status: Ok.

I'll pass on the bow.

Male Human Varient | Battle Master Fighter 4 | Superiority Dice 4/4 | Maneuver DC: 14 | Action Surge unused | Second Wind used | HP: 34/36 | AC: 16 | Init +4 | Saves: S+1, D+4, Co+4, I+1, W+2, Ch0 | Pass Perc: 14 | Status: normal | Insp: 0

Then I guess its now only Rath and Shadoo who want it?

Rolloff: 1d20 ⇒ 5

sigh...

For those who want it on an actual Logsheet, let me know and I'll write it up for you.

Please remove your own purchases from your gold total. Ragnar, remember you spent 110 back at Grimshackle Jail.

If you want me to write up your Logsheet, give me your total purchases so I can include it.

Shadoo, there's enough gold there for you to purchase a regular longbow rather than try and take a rare magical longbow to be used as a backup weapon, especially when there are two characters dedicated to archery.

I accidentally calculated all sold equipment at full price instead of half price.

There's been no response for over 48 hours, so I'm going to close up shop.

Thanks everyone for playing, and I hope you enjoyed it. Keep an eye out on the recruitment forum for new games. I probably will start a new one within the new few months.

As Shadoo never came back for a roll, I'm going to call that the +1 Longbow goes to Rath.
