Male Human Cleric 3: Spd:25, AC:19, HP:26/32, Fort:7, Ref:6, Will:11, Perc:9

He looks over at Shoun Okay fine, but if the imp leads us anywhere, keep your eyes peeled on the ground so he doesn't lead us into quick sand, and search him for horns, instruments, not ones on your head, including magical ones so he doesn't alert 30+ goblins on our journey. And if he flies up, don't ever look up, it is a trick to keep our eyes away from the ground in front of us and 90% of all enemies that are on the ground.

Dangerous Imps do not sleep in open sight, bellies full of milk, Rakish says, pointing out the half empty milk can.

But any Human is quick to kill any with scales without question or thought.

We will go. We will save the missing people. We have promised more than one.

"Hey now, my father was a human, and he didn't run around attacking anyone unless he was attacked first. Let's do each other the courtesy of forgoing generalizations and deal with each other as people."

Looking up at the Imp, Shoun would add "Unless you'd rather we go back to trying to kill each other, that is."

FYI, the imp is invisible. We don't know where it is, exactly.

Rakish grunts and turns, conceding the argument. He heads in the direction of the cow field. If the others do not follow, he'll take a seat on the ground, awaiting them.

"Maybe the imp is still in the area. They are notoriously great survivors, but that doesn't mean they are cowards. Draco, you should go into the house to wait, while I try to communicate with the terrible evil. Anybody have any wine?" If no one does, he'll go get the half full bucket and follow Rakish.

Krissina tries to straighten in her head what on earth is going on in the barn.
"I would rather give any creature benefit of the doubt, and provided ones eyes are open even a trap can be an opportunity."

"Sadly, I have no wine, though I can play something... It is not a language made for rhyme, but there are few songs written in Infernal."

Draco goes into the house to wait.

Up in the rafters, the imp appears munching on a piece of meat, Infernal is such an ugly language anyway, I prefers the Common.

Then regarding Raeva, No needs the wine, I prefers the milk too! Dem cows be so tasty!

Grand Lodge

Serelis shakes his head in disbelief and joins Draco in the house, Fiends and their ilk are borne of deceit and malice. They are not to be trusted... If that one comes with us, I will help you keep an eye on it.

Shoun pours some milk from the container and sets it down on a crate, then backs up and says "So, I assume you are the familiar to the missing man? What can you tell us about him? What was he investigating here?"

Grand Lodge

RPG Chronicles | [url=]Slides]

Familiar is such an ugly term. Let us say, friend. I am Hal's friend, the imp states matter-of-factly as he flutters cautiously to the crate.

The little fiend chugs the milk from the cup like a frat boy at a kegger, then lets out a long sigh of satisfaction, patting his rounded belly, Gods, I love this place!

"Very well then, as Hal's friend, I'm sure you're concerned about him, considering that he's been missing for a while now. Do you know what he was doing in the woods? We're trying to save him, as well as the search party that went in after him, so anything you can tell us will be helpful."

Grand Lodge

The imp leans back on his hands, sitting on the crate, looking at Shoun, No idea. He said he was going in, and that he'd be right back. He ain't been back though, that I know.

EDIT: He reaches up to scratch his neck, Maybe the hag got 'im? Oop!

He has a look like maybe he said too much, then grins, Ain't the elves that the townsfolk gotta worry about, 'tis the old bag. Not gonna get me goin' in there...

Alysha stares at the imp. She takes out some biscuits and offers it to the imp. "What a creature you are. If we bring you into the forest, will you be able to track down your master? The both of you have a link, no? He must have fed you well."

Grand Lodge

RPG Chronicles | [url=]Slides]

The imp cheerfully munches on the biscuits, What wonderful creatures, you Primers are! Aw, hells no, even I'm not stupid enough to cross a hag!

You can try to persuade him with a Charisma (Persuasion) check. Since you guys have fed him, you can make these at advantage.

Rakish perks up at the sound of the imp, and walks back from his moment of pouting.

I'd rather the imp not come with us. I mean, I think that Draco overreacted, but I don't think he was wrong.

Grand Lodge

He bristles a bit, Are you trying to butter me up?

The imp can't hold his stern face, which softens, Damned hells, I always thought you mix-bloods are hotter than the Concordant Plains! Okay, okay! I will go with yous and maybe we can find Hally-vin! Or at least pieces of him...

Okay, where to next?

I vote cows. I'd like to investigate everything before we have to go into the woods.

Grand Lodge

RPG Chronicles | [url=]Slides]

As you begin discussing investigating the cows, the imp chimes in, Oh yes! Them cows been good eating!

It comes to light that Pipyap, as he introduces himself, has been the one killing the cows of late, mostly because as he puts it, 'they probably deserved it.'

--

On to the Quivering Forest?

As you enter the forest, a cold rain begins to fall. It is not unexpected, as it has been mostly overcast all day, but it is a miserable experience nonetheless.

The deeper into the forest that you make it, the less light pierces the thick canopy of the forest. As the sun is in the waning hours of the day it gets fairly dark, but you can still see, darkvision or no.

The smells of rotting vegetation, and the occasional whiff of rotting meat, mixed-in with freshly turned earth surround you. Occasionally, you think you hear a baby laughing, a woman crying, or the groaning of a man, but you are not confident that it isn't your own imagination. Then a crack of a tree branch draws your attention, but nothing is there. A quick movement out of the corner of your eye and the sound of rustling brush draws your attention the other way! Again, nothing.

Sometimes, the silence is deafening and you only hear your own breath and the pounding of your own heartbeat in your ears...

Once in a while, you see a squirrel or a small bird, but when Pipyap tries to chase them, they rush off and hide.

Serelis is leading you and says, Probably best to see the elves at Greenhall first. Announce yourselves, so that they see that you respect the treaty. Maybe they can shed some light on the whereabouts of the townsfolk.

Pipyap chuckles, drawing a dark look from the ranger, Yeah, maybe they can show you to the body parts...

"That sounds like a good idea, though elves? Bah... they won't be listening to us much."

She pats Pipyap.
"Fat and bad tempered. You do remind me of my second husband.. Just sat on a chair and ate all day. Until a beer barrel fell on his head. At least he died drunk and happy," she says.

"I've no doubt they did." says Shoun in response to Pipyap's confession about the cows.

Why do I get the feeling that Alysha killed all of her husbands?

"Yes, we should go and visit the Elves, but someone else should do the talking until I get a feel for how my distant cousins might act. Some of them really hate Half-Elves."

2 people marked this as a favorite.

I'm still wondering how many husbands she had. We're up to three now, right? One husband per module?

We must bring caution to the elves. We cannot make them angry. We're on a mission from God for peace.

Sorry, I couldn't help myself.

Responding to Raeva
Elves aren't evil, a few of them can be stuck up, but evil is of the individual of the elf. Say did anyone do a detect good and evil spell on the imp? I heard even some elves work for a guy in a red suit that delivers wonderful presents to people once a year

Travel to Greenhall will take up to 3 days, Serelis says as he leads you through the Quivering Wood. Other than that he does not speak much.

Over the course of the day, you find odd things happening. You look around and see nothing, but you hear giggling that echoes through the forest...

Nothing. It just let out a little wine." Alysha says. She hopes to make the pixies appear and engage in conversation with them.
