Scramsax flung out on the gate and gulped as the 2 zombie velociraptors lurched at him, he was elated to see Dwalar! Dropping from the gate he flicked his swortswords into hand and tore into their flesh...

...Scram reflected the sunlight off his blade into the greyed out dinosaur eyeball, letting him quickly slip the blade into its throat, tearing out the muscles keeping it upright.

Ill move out from the cover to attack, then move back. I think I can do so without AoO

You would have to disengage to avoid an attack of opportunity, but that is an action. When you hit second level, you will be able to do it as a bonus action, if you stick to rogue. However, you can keep behind the gate and keep cover (but grant cover to the zombie, causing that first attack to miss, but keeping a +5 bonus to AC.)

Fenri swings hard at the zombie! 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 = 8 Her axe embeds itself in the dinosaur's skull. It falls still.

The zombie (red) by Saphina snaps at her! 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (12) + 3 = 15 The little halfling warrior fends the stinky maw off with her shield!

The two zombies (green & brown) at Fenri snap at her! 2d20 ⇒ (8, 10) = 18 11, 13 The staunch dwarven rager fends them off!

One zombie (yellow) charges at Dwalar!1d20 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 = 8 The bite flies wide as the dwarven warrior ducks out of the way!

The last zombie (purple) snaps at Scramsax through the fence! 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7 But the little rogue backs off, letting the gate block for him!

1d20 ⇒ 17 One death save success...

Everyone is up! Blue is dead, the rest are labeled with their various damage status!

One move takes you to about 20 ft away, did you want to cast healing word or move right up to her?

EDIT: If you move right up there, Saphina will still get the opportunity to sneak attack.

Alright, I thought AoO only applied if you tried to move out of range...not moving within range. No worries, I probably misjudged where the dinosaur was, it was sort of on an intersection instead of inside a square.

No, you are correct, I thought you were trying to withdraw after attacking. I misunderstood. You have the gate between you and it, so I thought you wanted to attack and withdraw.

i was kind of waiting to see if Sashah moved up or not. I will assume he did and apply Sneak Damage.

Saphina uses Sashah to flank the undead creature and stabs it in its fleshy dead parts.

No, 2h weapons just tend to have higher damage potential. They also have things like Great Weapon fighting and Great Weapon Mastery that can help a lot.

Dwalar swings hard at the undead raptor, causing loose flesh to splatter on his armor!

Scramsax ducks around the gate and thrusts through and into the beast again, once, twice! 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (18) + 3 = 21 The zombie falters and looks like it dies, but a second later it stirs!

1d20 ⇒ 2 For a second, it looks like Red is going to snap at Sashah, but it comes after Saphina instead! 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (16) + 3 = 19 She isn't able to get her shield up in time and the zombie catches her in the shoulder! -4 hp

The two zombies (green, brown) snap their jaws at Fenri! 2d20 ⇒ (19, 7) = 26 +3 Knocking one in the head, Fenri deflects one bite, but the other takes advantage of the opening and bites down hard! -4 hp (halved to 2 for rage)

Yellow circles Dwalar and snaps! 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (10) + 3 = 13 The undead beast cannot get past the dwarf's defenses!

Purple continues to try to get at Scramsax! 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (17) + 3 = 20 The little halfling is just a split second too slow and the beast catches his arm! -4 hp

Scram perforates the zombie twice! 2d20 ⇒ (15, 9) = 24 The first hit lands, and it seems to writhe, but the second catches it right through the eye, and it falls still! Purple = RIP

Faroris throws another blast right past Fenri's head, pinging the zombie (green) in the dome! It looks a little rattled before it comes back at the dwarven rager!

Confident that her companions can handle the Green creature, Fenri turns her sights on the other one confronting her.

The two zombies continue to savage Fenri, but the dwarf doesn't care!
2d20 ⇒ (5, 19) = 24 + 3 A snarling moan escapes the beasts as one manages to get past her defenses! -4 hp (reduced to 2 hp) to Fenri!

The zombie on Dwalar takes advantage of the dwarf warrior's disadvantage!
1d20 + 3 ⇒ (18) + 3 = 21 -4 hp for Dwalar.

Scramsax screams madly, running and jumps through the air, his sword points trained on the decaying tendons keeping the dino on its feet. Midflight he turns and calmly says "Oh hai Sashah." before digging in nearly to the hilt.

EDIT: Faroris hurls another bolt at the beat-up zombie! 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (12) + 3 = 15 The beast falls still for a moment, but begins to stir, then stands again!

Saphina looks at the little girl with a smile Dont worry, you’re safe now. She then Turns to help the others. Regretting dropping her bow, she reaches into her boot and draws a dagger. Not wanting to get too far from the little girl, she moves a little closer to the small dinos attacking Fenri and throws her dagger at one.

Dagger toss: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (5) + 5 = 10
Piercing Sneak Damage: 1d4 + 3 + 1d6 ⇒ (1) + 3 + (3) = 7

The last zombie (yellow) continues to try to finish the Dwalar! 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7 The thing bites down on the dwarven warrior's arm, but does not pierce his chain mail!
