Adventures in Chult for Tier 1 D&D Adventurers League.

Often called the “Gateway to Chult”, the exotic city of Port Nyanzaru is built upon a landscape both mystifying and marvelous.

However, the city’s vibrant beauty is overshadowed by a mysterious scourge that plagues all within the land. Can the divergent forces within the city discover the truth before all are overcome by this growing threat?

Hey there! I am going to run DDAL07-01 A City on the Edge. It's the first module in the latest season for Adventurers League. It is a tier 1 adventure (lvls 1 - 4) using the rules for Organized Play found here. Note that Death Curse rules apply.

The module is composed of five adventures and I hope to move quickly through them. You may drop out at the end of each scenarios.

As per AL rules, I am looking for 3 - 7 players.

I'm looking for a once a day post frequency with the exception of weekends.

Yep, I'm interested, one human wizard coming right up. Question: In season 7 preview pdf, it says something about another mode, where you only save on death saves on a 15 or higher, but you get 10% more exp and gold. Are we doing that, cause I'm interested in it.

Welcome!

Yes, that's the Meat Grinder option.
In meat grinder mode, a death saving throw succeeds on a roll of 15 (instead of 10) or higher. A character playing an adventure in meat grinder mode earns 10% more XP and gp. The character can potentially receive more than an adventure’s normal maximum reward.
This option is available only while under the effects of the Death Curse. Each player decides whether or not they wish to use it, and their decision only applies to their own, individual characters; DMs can’t make this decision for them. Once made, the decision is final; it can’t be changed. Surrogates can’t choose this option.

There's more info in the Player's Pack with more info about the Death Curse.

BTW, Recruitment is on a first come first served basis. As long as you have an AL legal character you're in.

Envoy's Alliance

Human wizard is here. And I am for meat grinder mode.

Grand Lodge

Bear in mind that meat grinder mode only applies once you have contracted the death curse. (Which means that your character has to die and be brought back before being eligible.)

I am probably going to make a new character too, or if Rav becomes available before you start, I will play him. :)

If I make a new character, I am thinking of making a fae-pact warlock.

Grand Lodge

Does anyone know if there are any Archfae based in Chult that I could use as my patron?

Ubtao?

Ah thanks for clarifying the Death Curse.

I don't think Rav will be done by the time we start, unfortunately. :P But maybe he can come in for the subsequent scenarioes if you want?

That is not my understanding of meat grinder. Everyone is afflicted by the death curse to begin the game. Meat Grinder is just meant for advanced players looking for a greater challenge.

I would also be interested in playing. I'll come up with something.

After rereading I think Greycastle is right. EVERYONE is subject to the Death Curse. So Meat Grinder mode is something that anyone under the effects can choose.

Looking forward to your characters, Greycastle and Aeshuura. Your character looks fine Rakdon.

Interested with my wiz 1 cleric 1

Will need to finish the adventure's he in though...

True, my application depends on that

Maybe he can join some of the subsequent scenarios. You want to use another character or just wait?

I have a level 4 druid who would be down to represent the spirits. That would be this character here. I can, if needed, make a new character (assuming everyone wants to be first level).

Am fine with you using your druid.

Looks like we have possibly five players right now (Rakdon, Aeshuura, Greycastle, Sashah(?) and Skyreaver).

Can those making new characters finish them by the weekend? Will try to start next Monday.

And the Tortles are coming! https://mobile.twitter.com/ChrisPerkinsDnD/status/908122115991207937

Liberty's Edge

I am also interested....will have to see who I have available, or make a new character....can we use unearthed arcana classes (like the arcane archer?)

Afraid not as UA is not AL legal. Do check the link to PHB+1 splatbook. More details on the link in the first post.

Liberty's Edge

Ok, no problem...might go with a monk character with a shady past..lol

You could go human fighter (archer) with eldritch knight or battlemaster with Magic Initiate feat... ;)

Liberty's Edge

Very true..lol...will have to take a look and see...the other thought was being the lock opener and sneak for the party...that is if we already have plenty of fighter-types

Grand Lodge

I looked at the Death Curse again and it looks like you may be right. I may go Meat Grinder too! :)

Remember that you can always rebuild your character before you hit level 5.

Envoy's Alliance

Now that the Dm's rewards are out, I'm applying the Dms starting item to this character since it can be applied to any one character as code number DM07001. Kneoght's ointment, restores 2d8+2, cures poison and other diseases uses: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2 Unless it is suppose to have the maximum number of uses when you get an item like that or average, but I don't see that anywhere in adventures league

When are we hoping to start?

Next Monday. Does that work for you?

Okay, I will finish everything up with Nanbu this weekend. I am still trying to find a good archfae patron for him, but I am thinking that he is an orphan that got lost when his parents were exploring the jungles and were slaughtered. He was found by those little spirit thingies and brought to his patron, who raised him a la Tarzan.

He was reintroduced to civilization when he grew 'of age' and has trained under one of the several guides, but is still very much an apprentice.

Sounds great to me! :)

Rakdon, I believe it would be a full Jar. Not a partial jar found in a treasure.

I ended up going variant human and taking the Observant feat. Are you of the mind that minimum Perception or Investigation is your passive score? It was mentioned by Jeremy Crawford that it was the original intent, but I chock it up to table variation. (Don't worry, even with my +5, my Passive Perception is a whoppin' 14!) Where my character shines is his Investigation which is passive 18.

I believe ointment should be a full jar.

Min per/inv = passive score. Nope, not using that rule.

Am closing recruitment as with five or six players we have more than enough. Have a post in the gameplay thread if you want to post in order to subscribe to it.

Good to know. :)

So far i see L1 wizard. L4 Druid. L1 Warlock. Possibly a L2 wiz/cleric if we finish up with Sasha's character in the other group. That leaves me and Daniel.

I'm very likely going to have another character for the beginning of this.

Liberty's Edge

looks like we could use a fighter of some stripe, so I think I might go ahead with a ranger (with archery background). Will gt him up later today.

I submit Sir Adrian Fullbright for consideration. Level 3 Male Paladin.

Grand Lodge

Sashah, if we can wrap up the battle by Sunday, you guys will be free, but as my posting drops on the weekends, I don't see it as likely... :(

I would love that. I'd totally play Saphina through this.

As it is I'm thinking a rogue type or perhaps a blade lock I've been working on.

Grand Lodge

With Nanbu, I am thinking at 3rd, Tomelock, take thorn whip, shillelagh (to boost my club/rod) and druidcraft. I have such great visual imagery for this character...

When are final decisions on the group being made?

Adrien. Technically Drake closed recruitment before you posted so it's his call. There is an extra slot however so I'd say your chances are good. I for one welcome a healing front liner lol.

Oh okay I didn't realise we were so close to getting finished for White Well. I'm okay with waiting until that scenario finishes. So we won't quite start on Sunday but nonetheless those who want to can jump into the prologue part.

Sir Adrian, I'm okay with including you. Welcome to the game!

Sounds good!

Still recruiting?

Dwarven Eldritch Knight wannabe

Same question from me, if yes, I would love to sign up.

Not at this time, but I might run this again soon. Will put you on a waiting list and thanks for your interest.

Ok, thank you.

Saphina Greenfoot steps off the boat, ready for her next adventure in Chult. She's certainly not in Kansas anymore.

Welcome Saphina. Do post in the gameplay thread. Just need Sashah to check in and we're ready to land at Chult!
