Well, who is a shetty guide? This guy!

Upon seeing the elven woman, Nanbu looks to Rakdon, Will wizard-friend be alright?

If he gets an affirmative, Nanbu, wary of the vines, attempts to move forward and help pull the elven woman free, blasting with eldritch blast if need be.

Yes, thanks for asking, it will wear off eventually, only minor damage and blurred vision, but I can magic missile enemies, so seeing blurs and sometimes doubles don't matter to me, even if my accuracy sucks, my magic missile doesn't.

Sir Adrian approaches the middle of the group.

Again, through the power of Torm, I can remove the disease from some of you who have contracted it. Does anyone require such healing?

Yes, they were.

Nanbu hurries towards the elf woman, but the brambles covering her are too thick to remove. Sashah studies the pterafolk and realises that it's been dead for a while and not undead.

The elven woman frantically speaks. "I am from Malar's Throat... the pterafolk are using me... as an offering," she says.

Just as she finishes her sentence, she is dragged and enveloped in the thick mesh of brambles. The others hear something scurrying in the trees; small creatures made up of vines and spiked thorns are staring down at the party.

Looks like the party, alert after encountering the tabaxi and elf, may act before the blights. The party is surrounded by four needle blights and two twig blights. They're all up in the trees about ten feet up. Let's just theatre of the mind this.

Rakdon and Sashah unleash firebolts upon the same needle blight, burning it. However, it remains standing.

Combat over

The Tabaxi is stabilised after Sashah's administrations. After he is extricated from the brambles, he introduces himself.

"Greetings, I am Ashen Rock. I was -cough- part of the search party from Malar's Throat to free captives from the Pterafolk. Unfortunately, most of our group succumbed to the dangers of the jungle.

"The pterafolk don’t usually venture into the city districts. This small pack of them appear to have been drawn by something. We captured one but learned very little from the pterafolk. They appeared somewhat crazed, stealing citizens as sacrifices to the twisted plant creatures in this area.
"It seems the pterafolk are also victims. Most of the pterafolk have died anyway, their bodies slowly wasting away. I believe they may have been afflicted with the Death Curse as well,"
he says.

Actually, Nanbu's Perception check is -1, the 14 PP is because of Observant feat. So that would be a 15 for me. :) Assuming that 15 is still enough... or that Adrian warns him... Gonna try something a little off...

Cast Armor of Agathys: 10 temp hp; deal 10 hp cold damage to any creature that hits me with a melee attack while I still have temp hp.
