Discussion thread for A City on Edge. This is a five-part module for Tier 1 (level 1-4).

Spell prepared today, since I can do 4 out of 6 right now, int+3 and half wizard level (Mage Armor, sleep, magic missile, burning hands)

At the beginning of the quest when party adventures out, Rakdon casts Mage Armor, which lasts 8 hours, not concentration, which will make his AC 15, probably for the entire first part, which couldn't possibly last more than 8 hours game time.

For those interested, Adventures League came out with a new race that is legal. The Tortle package. You have to go to Dms guild and pay 9.99 for it, but it says on the document itself, this is AL legal.

Okay, so I wasn't able to play, because we had enough for a second table and I ended up running. However, I did apply my DM cred and barely made 2nd level. Will update soon.

EDIT: Updated. Like Rakdon, Nanbu will cast mage armor every morning. It actually looks like jungle vines wrap around his torso in a sort of living breastplate.

It's a prologue right now. The ship bearing the other characters is still coming into harbour. :)

Last Sunday, I actually qualified for Call to Adventure DM Quest Reward. Do you mind if I apply that to Nanbu? That would bring him up to 3rd level... :)

That would bring him to right where I wanted him for the cool image in my head. (With shillelagh, druidcraft, and thorn whip.)

Making holy water:
A Cleric or Paladin may create Holy Water by performing a Special ritual. The ritual takes 1 hour to perform, uses 25 gp worth of powdered silver, and requires the caster to expend a 1st-level spell slot.

You may purchase holy water at the market for the same price as in the PHB.

Hmm are there additional rules for holy water?

Sashah > You'll need an hour for each flask and expend a first level spell slot as well as 25 gp of silver dust.

Holy Water also costs 25 gp to purchase.

Crafting usually uses the DT rules, but I didn't know if this was an optional thing proposed in the module (as is sometimes done...)

For combat, I'll try to group you guys in threes (unless the enemies move is in between, of course). Moves will be processed in posting order. After those three are done we'll move on to the next.

Conveniently, the zombies initiative is right in the middle of the group for this fight. :)

Waiting for my flight, so I popped on to post. Remember that I have Armor of Agathys up (for 1 hour) 10 temp up and 10 cold damage to any attacker that hits me while I still have temp hp. :) If you want, you could just have me in the back, launching eldritch blasts (+3 day for Cha because of Agonizing Blast invocation.)

Nice move Sashah. Could I know where the double strength cure wounds comes from? Since you're a first level cleric I thought it'd be just 1 dice.

When you multiclass with 2 spell casting classes there is a specific table you work off of that establishes a spell slot pool used by both classes.

In it one gets spell slots at normal progression, but because of the multiclass one ends up with 2nd lvl spell slots and only able to know/prepare 1st lvl spells. As such, 2nd level spell slots can be used to cast prepared spells. Thankfully, with the spell system that 5e has, some spells, if cast with a higher level slot are more powerful (like cure wounds: 1d8 > 2d8).

You all get 110 xp because of Meat Grinder. For GP you get 16.67 gp each and 5 downtime days. Adrian gets one renown for being OotG.

There are three consumable magic items: Scroll of Healing Word, Scroll of Protection from Evil and Good and a Vial of Alchemist's Fire.

Divide is as you wish. We'll continue to the next part shortly, though it depends on who you visit next.
