Keaton will change his light spell to his bandana. He summons a few warm towels and dries off quickly before entering the tunnel with the group. He continues to babble his discontent under his breath the entire time.

Moving sixty feet down the passage to where the stone reliefs of stern dwarves in chain mail and carrying battleaxes face each other across the tunnel on the north and south walls. The group can now tell they are definately doors. The stonework seems to be of high quality, maybe even of actual dwarven workmanship. While they do not appear to have a handle or a locking mechanism from the looks of them and look to seemly push open.
Looking further east down the tunnel it continues on past these two sets of doors for about another sixty feet. At the end of the passage is another stone door with an iron pull ring in it. It stands slightly ajar with darkness beyond. About five feet up, the door has a two-inch-wide, foot-long horizontal slit.
From here the group had choices. The north dwarven sculpted door, the south dwarven sculpted door or continue straight toward the stone pull ring door that was ajar and had the slit in it. It was apparent that whatever this was it was definitely larger than they first thought and with the dwarven craftsmanship probably much older.

It has been several weeks out of game, but one day in game, since the fight about always going left in a dungeon. I am fine to go wherever, do not have a preference.

" shh! " Ember says holding her palms out at Keaton making calm down noises. " Left, ok we can go left. I just don't think it's a good idea to go past these doors without knowing what's behind them. " She hisses. " Just had a funny feeling about the right door I guess. "

As the group discussed going right or left or straight. The ultimate decision would be made when one of the two lead men either Narnel or Molok actually pushed one of the doors open to see what was behind them. Perhaps they would open one or both before proceeding further into the unknown.

As Molok goes to open the door to his left which would be the northern dwarven door to some others he finds that the door opens smoothly. A ten foot wide tunnel leads north as far as he could see with no other features upon the walls.

Your group moved into the tunnel north. You traveled roughly ninety feet before the corridor turned hard toward the east. Turning east and traveling about thirty five feet you could now clearly see that the corridor opened up into a chamber ahead in about another thirty five feet. A repulsive strange scent suddenly hits your nostrils which stops you in your tracks. To anyone else it might just be a wretched horrible scent but you had smelled this same scent all to recently. The scent of death and decay hung strongly in the air here. Something dead lay ahead.
I stopped the group thirty-five feet from the chamber entrance because of the smell. Their is no door and from here you can only tell that the tunnel opens up into a chamber but you don't see anything else. What do you do?

Keaton summons a beautiful strong scented rose, he keeps it near his face to mask the smell of decay. He looks nervous but is ready to continue.

Narnel speaks low to Molok.
Keep the others here for one moment while I try to get a look.
Narnel covers his nose with a part of his cloak, then sneaks up to the entrance and examines the room.

Narnel moved out quietly ahead, however the entire act was one more of showmanship rather than actual stealth. If anything lay ahead in the chamber it was probably already alerted by the light the group shared through Keaton's lighted bandanna.
The tunnel opens into a thirty foot by thirty foot square room that reeks of decaying flesh. Three human corpses, reduced to little more than bloody bone and sinew, are sprawled in the room's center. Two oversized rats root among the bodies, stopping to chew flesh they've pulled free. Scuttling noises come from narrow crevices in the walls. The only exit from the room is the one that you currently stand at and another ten foot wide passage that exits the room in the northeast corner headed further north.
The rats are to busy with their meal to notice Narnel's approach.

Narnel returns to the group.
There is a thirty foot square room ahead with three dead human bodies being eaten by two oversized rats. The only apparent exit is another ten foot wide passage on the other side of the room. Shall we proceed?

" Ugh, we should at least get a look at these bodies. Stop the rats eating them so they can be identified and given a proper burial. " Ember whispers.

"Allow me to try and get the rats to leave, I'd be loathe to kill the creatures for simply doing what nature intended for them. If someone has trail rations to spare. I will pay you back for it later."
Assuming nobody objects and someone gives her some food, Kenna walks calmly into the room and approaches the rats presenting the food to distract them from their meal.

Kenna moves quietly away from the group and just out of the range of Keaton's bright light into the edge of the shadows at the opening to the small room. Upon arriving she sees the two gnome sized rats feeding off the two bodies in the center of the room. She slowly and methodically breaks off a big chunk of the ration that she received from Ember and slowly sets it down on the stone floor. She then begins to make a series of clicks and chirps with her mouth to see if she can get a response from the rodents.
The first one pays her no mind and goes on with its meal in the center of the room. However the second one perks up with its nose twitching in the air and looks in the druids direction. It begins to scurry toward Kenna and stops to sniff the ration chunk that Kenna had laid down.
More scurrying can be heard in the walls of the room as three more of the giant rats scurry out from the cracks and toward the food that Kenna had laid out. Quickly devouring the small morsel. All four of the ones that stood before Kenna now looked to her for more food. Their red swollen eyes darting around wildly and brown mangled teeth chomping the air.
I have put the group in initiative below as this is now a semi-hostile situation depending on the actions of the group. I will process all actions going forward in this order.

Narnel again sneaks to the opening to be in position if things go south, along the way he kicks a few loose pebbles that seem to get the rats attention at the approach of another.
Cade readies his staff as he watches the events unfold in front of him. Actual he was only watching the darkness as his human eyes would not penetrate the darkness up ahead but he kept his ears perked. Every gut instinct in his being playing over and over how this could not end well for them.
Keaton meanwhile begins calculating distance if he had to throw a spell but his human eyes would not let him see into the dark room ahead and even Kenna and Narnel was now outside the range of his light spell that hung to his bandana on his neck. His spell would not be much use if he could not see to traget it.
Ember also stayed back out of the way as she watched the situation unfold before her. Her darkvision allowing her to see everything going on up in the darkness.
The sudden approach of Narnel toward them spooked the rats. Two of the giant rats quickly hurried around Kenna to attack the oncoming Narnel. This left Kenna virtually surrounded by rats but none seemed to be interested in her at the moment except for the two that still awaited her to give up more of the food she was holding.
The first rat that reached Narnel bit solidly into his shin causing blood to flow freely from the wound. As Narnel was concerned about the pain from the rat that had just took a chunk out of his leg he didn't see the second one coming that managed to get to his other leg and bites into a artery. Blood spewed from Narnel like a fountain in the town square.

Molok moved up the passage staying just out of reach from the giant rat that lay between himself and Kenna. Keeping himself on guard should the druid fail at keeping the rats at bay.
Kenna drops the remaining food for the rats in front of her and begins casting, targeting the one rat beside her that had just bitten Narnel. Her spell seemed to sooth the rat and it stopped attacking and looked at the druid.
Vaneros readied himself if the rats advanced further.
Narnel backed away from the rats defending himself. Running toward Ember making it to her side before almost collapsing from his wound as he staggered. Blood squirting from his leg.
Cade cast a spell of light that made his sling bullet glow bright and tossed it into the room. The bright light causing all but the charmed giant rats to shriek and panic. They stopped eating and looked at the party in an aggressive manner. The light had aggravated them into a frenzy.
I stopped the initiative at Keaton so he could target his spell. Pick a square. Ember you are up after Keaton and then the rats go again. *See intiative order above.

Now being able to see into the room Keaton weaves his magic, hands motioning in arcane gestures, arcane words mumbling forth from his mouth and a single rose petal dropping from his hand to the floor. Suddenly the rat in the center of the room and one in front of Kenna fall into a magical slumber.
Ember holds a hand over Narnels wound. Narnel's wound starts to close, the blood flow stemming.
The remaining two awake, uncharmed rats that have now been worked into a frenzy by the light now turn on Kenna and attack. Both rats biting into her legs and taking chunks of flesh with their sharp yellowed teeth. Kenna howls in pain as the rats attack from both sides.

Molok steps forward and slashes one of the rats attacking Kenna. His blade finding its mark and cutting the rat asunder into two wiggling pieces.
Kenna draws a scimitar and swings at the rat in front of her, hitting it with the flat of her blade. The blow momentarily stuns the rat but it quickly recovers.
Vaneros held his ground, knowing that a magical attack from him would snuff the creature out of existence. He held his attack trying to abide by Kenna's wishes of not killing the creature.

Narnel rushes past Molok and attacks the rat that appears to be under Kenna's spell. Narnel brings his staff down upon the back of the charmed rat as the audible crunch can be heard from its vertebrae snapping. Raising his leg up he brings his heel down now upon the top of its head as another snap og bone is heard as the giant rat now lay slowly twitching until it finally stops moving all together.
