Sorry for delay had a weekend full of PFS gaming + running and had about 10hrs of sleep since friday morning :P

Moving up to provide flank with Iso he took a swing at the creature

The inquisitor moves up and is unable to connect, even with the flank he and the barbarian share.

Round 2
Dalsine takes a 5' step away from the barbarian, his eyes on a heavily armored figure
1d20 + 12 - 2 + 3 ⇒ (17) + 12 - 2 + 3 = 30
striking him as the rapier pierces the inquisitor is struck by shocking energy
1d6 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7 from the poke
5d6 ⇒ (4, 5, 5, 3, 5) = 22
Empowered ability would add 33 or 11 to the damage?
1d20 + 12 + 2 ⇒ (7) + 12 + 2 = 21
1d6 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 3 = 9

Total damage 16 from rapier +33 from the empowered shocking grasp
49 damage

First time I have had to use Empower ability

You will all die here and the war that you are trying to stave off will happen anyway and all because you are failures! he says madly.

I will nitpick now, you didn't declare that Dalsine was going to cast defensively, so that will allow me an AoO on him. Also, the 2nd roll needs a -2 on the attack roll as per info in the scenario and that one will miss. After that, dead tiefling

Empower will add 11 to the shocking grasp, so 33 total + 7 from the first poke will make it 40hp of damage and will put the inquisitor at -16 aka fully dead

AoO Attack: 1d20 + 6 + 1 ⇒ (15) + 6 + 1 = 22
damage: 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 = 8

After making a final ditch attack the Tiefling crumples to the floor, dead.

Empower Spell (Metamagic)

You can increase the power of your spells, causing them to deal more damage.

Benefit: All variable, numeric effects of an empowered spell are increased by half including bonuses to those dice rolls.

Saving throws and opposed rolls are not affected, nor are spells without random variables.

Level Increase: +2 (an empowered spell uses up a spell slot two levels higher than the spell’s actual level.)

So 22 damage (the variable number) x 1.5 = 33 total damage. EDIT: what Faraith said.

Farith Redloss wrote:

Not necessarily....

PSRD wrote:

If you take damage while trying to cast a spell, you must make a concentration check with a DC equal to 10 + the damage taken + the level of the spell you’re casting. If you fail the check, you lose the spell without effect. The interrupting event strikes during spellcasting if it comes between the time you started and the time you complete a spell (for a spell with a casting time of 1 full round or more) or if it comes in response to your casting the spell (such as an attack of opportunity provoked by the spell or a contingent attack, such as a readied action).

Also, I don't see inspire added into your damage calculations (at least). So that might be 9 damage, and maybe a +1 on the to hit as well. The spell shocking grasp is 1st level but it is currently empowered to 3rd.... So 10 + 9 + 3 = Concentration DC 22! :)

Falth, did you have a judgement active?

Iso looks on horrified as the Tiefling falls to the ground. Realizing this is a formidable foe, his tries to curb his most basic instincts to concentrate on putting the man down.

I'm hoping the rat arrives before Iso attacks for the extra +2 from a flanking buddy. And assuming that given the difficulty we are having with him, that our wizard positions the rat so Iso will be able to flank with it.
I'm posting now rather than delaying just because this is PBP and such delays don't really help in the medium.

Yes, Iso can delay though. I guess you can rule that we aren't communicating about what we are doing in which case, so be it. But we are a team that has been together for a few days and discussing tactics or calling out what we are doing in combat is not an unreasonable assumption. Your call. If Iso doesn't know there is a rat about to appear then I'll use my GM reroll.

No spellcraft, and no he doesn't know where it will appear. But if Iso was to delay due to a long casting spell, he could relocate to where he does get flanking. No biggie either way. As noted GM star burned in the event you don't want a raging barbarian without spellcraft to wait in the hope that a summoned creature appears. You're not being unreasonable, I'm just being hopeful.

Hopefully this is a reasonable action even while raging, as the rat has now appeared. Even raging barbarians are not prevented from making the odd tactical choice.

He then steps forward into whichever square gives him flanking with the rat and strikes. Realising this maybe his last chance, he does what he can to finish the battle with a single blow.

recap round 2
Dalsine hits the barbarian
barbarian hits the magus
Wizard casts glitter dust and rat attacks the magus
Sorcerer uses wand of magic missile which was stopped

I think that the cleric/bard is the only person left to act this round.

It looks like he has taken 30 pts of damage so far

Tiefling's AoO, the barbarians attack and the true hero so far, the summoned rat.

I hope you've added all the damage Rilia's done as well. ;) koff koff Inspire damage. Rilia moves to disarm him of his phallic symbol.

"Ohh, poor over-dressed doorman. You've been bedazzled."

unimproved disarming charm/mwk scorpion whip v doorman's sword (CMB, mwk, inspired, whip bonus): 1d20 + 1 + 1 + 1 + 2 ⇒ (19) + 1 + 1 + 1 + 2 = 24

EDIT: *SNAP!*

So it needs to beat his CMD correct in order to disarm him correct. If that is the case he gets disarmed.
