Copper zaps the torso, as the bolts strike the twitching slightly pauses, but then resumes just as random and spastically. With Felgar right there and unmoving, the limb may be swinging at him, but with as much as it twitches chaotically without hitting anything, it's tough to tell.

Unconcerned by the eagle for the moment, the derro pulls another item from his robe and drops it beside Rutter. As soon as it hits the bed, a medium sized humanoid zombie stands in its place. It swings at Rutter with its decaying fist. The angry force with which it brings it down on the halfling is jarring.

Rutter shakes off the brutal hit from the zombie. He swings his kukri out cautiously. He then drops his dagger and draws his other kukri.

The stench emanating from Felgar was like a physical blow as it assaulted Neva's senses.

She retched softly and her vision swam slightly. Lady, save me!

She slid along the couch and raised her wavering crossbow to point at the flying derro.

Copper slides his Enlarge Person wand into it's wrist sheath, and begins casting a spell, a more powerful version of the missile of pure force he had launched just a moment ago at the flopping torso. This time, he aims at the derro on the ceiling, his hands moving fluidly and words flowing precisely from his lips, "Magische asperges uit mijn hand en stakingen mijn vijand zonder mislukken."

Cast Magic Missile this time, instead of from the wand.

Rutter strikes at the foul creation, leaving an oozing wound across its thigh. If it were capable of registering pain, it would have most assuredly cried out at the wound.

Through her swimming vision, Neva is able to get a shot off at the flying man, but it doesn't quite find its mark as he avoids it, clattering somewhere off the ceiling of the cavern.

Through all its constant harrassment, however, the eagle manages to find a way through his defenses. The bite angers the derro, who turns his angry attention toward the flying menace.

That is, before Copper begins casting his spell, which gets the derro's focus. Listening and watching intently, realization comes to him, and he begins to laugh mirthlessly. His laughing continues even before the spell fails to reach him due to an invisible barrier before him.

Not sure which would come into play first. The shield spell would stop it before it got to him, or would the spell fizzle due to his SR? I imagine SR kicks in only after getting through any other defenses, and the spell just has no effect.

Deciding that he will get back to the eagle, in time, he draws another item from his robe. Sliding slightly closer to the paralyzed dwarf, he drops it beside Neva. This becomes a medium humanoid skeleton. As he chuckles, the zombie and skeleton harrass the party. The zombie swings, but the slash in its leg almost causes it to fall without the connected muscle to help it stay upright. The skeleton swings at Neva, and where she easily avoids the first, the second swipe comes as a surprise to sting her arm.

Damn these vile undead! Neva thought as her eyes darted between the various creatures in the room and Rutter's wounds.

She placed a hand on her crude symbol of Pharasma and gave full throat to her thoughts.

"Damn these vile undead!!! she yelled with all the force she could muster.

Channel positive energy to damage undead: 2d6 ⇒ (6, 6) = 12 (DC 13 Will for half; not affected by sickened condition. Supernatural ability doesn't provoke AoO.]

woot! If a path of non-threatened squares after that, I'll move next to Rutter...D16. Otherwise, hold position.

The eagle gives one last go before Pravlox sees it's sickened, and releases it.

Pravlox is stumped at this point. Nothing he can summon is going to have a reasonable chance of making the fort save, and even if they do, they aren't going to slow the derro down any. He's out of spells he can cast. Rex would take a full minute to resummon, and would still have all the strength damage from earlier. If anyone has any ideas, I'm all ears, but I just don't see much he can do.

If the room were bigger that might be an option; as it is, the room is small enough, I just see him getting in the way, considering he also has more than likely chance of failing the fort save, making his already horrid attack and damage even more so.

Copper draws his crowssbow and takes a shot at the derro hoping against all odds that he might land a hit against the nasty thing.

Rutter almost loses his blade in the slippery mess left behind on it from his last strike, but recovers well enough to cut a nasty gash into the zombie's gut.

Neva, angered, lashes out with the full force of Pharasma's will. The wash of energy shatters the skeleton, and crumbles what's left of the zombie before Rutter. I didn't bother rolling, because half of what you rolled was still enough to kill them both.

Pravlox's summoned help falls prey to the wave of stench emanating off the oversized obstacle before swiping a few more times ineffectually. He is thus dismissed before the it hinders it too much.

Copper resorts to loading and firing his crossbow, but between Felgar and the corner, he is left with a small window of effect, which is sadly not enough.

The derro snarls and curses at Neva as she blasts his undead, gently patting his robes before muttering something. He begins to cast another spell. A ghostly hand manifests before him, floating nearby.

Spellcraft 15 (for the effect on Felgar):
The spell is Ghoul Touch. The sickened aspect is poison based.

Spellcraft 15 (the spell he just cast):
He just cast Spectral Hand, taking 1d4 ⇒ 3 damage.

Pravlox, clearly very annoyed at this point wishes out loud that the air itself would attack the pest, and seems quite surprised when the air right by him starts to swirl around before slamming a portion of itself into the derro.

No worries, Neva. Rutter doesn't pack much of a punch without sneak attack damage, so I was just planning on him playing meat shield until he or the derro dropped.

Pravlox, the 10-ft reach of the spear may be just what we need to hit a mage flying overhead. Either you or Rutter can wield it. I suspect Rutter's jumping off the bed tactic will be a bit time-intensive, and may require consistently high acrobatics rolls, if it even works at all.

Rutter's unusual attempt managed to work, for the most part. His leap brought him the height he needed, but swinging a weapon effectively while jumping and stretching, is even harder than one would assume.

Neva moves away from Felgar, and overcomes the foul nausea that had washed over her. Meanwhile Pravlox coaxes an elemental to come to his aid. The small gust thrashes at him, but fails to damage the derro.

Copper wields his wand dangerously at the floating hand, blasting it with enough force to cause it to dissipate, which draws an angry glare from the flying fat man.

The derro moves away from the small gust just enough to angle a spell into the other room with Copper and Pravlox. All the while the twitching limb spasms at Felgar.

5' fly to D14.
Cast spell centered on C9/B10 intersection.
DC 14 Will save. If one person fails, they are asleep. If both fail, then the one with the lowest save is asleep. DC 16 spellcraft to recognize the spell as Sleep. Just realized I did the other 2 spellcrafts wrong. They should have both been 17, not 15, oh well.

Sleep spell
Since the spell requires a full round action to cast, that means it won't actually take effect until the beginning of his next turn.
Also, if we somehow manage to deal damage to the derro before then, he would need to make a Concentration check not to lose the spell.
Also also, the spell has a 10ft radius from the burst point. I am 15ft from the burst point, so it shouldnt reach me, though I dont remember if you had a houserule going about the diagonal movement, so here is my save anyway, just in case.
Will save 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (6) + 4 = 10

Being able to identify the derro casts, Copper calls out to Pravlox, "He's trying to put us to sleep. We neeed to scatter before the spell goes off!" Adressing the rest of the group, "Hit him or do something, it may break his concentration and make him lose the spell!"

Ah, okay. I did not realize sleep had changed to the 1 round with PF. That's fine, he has little enough faith in your attacks that he would probably still risk it. As far as area, I was just thinking 2 sq in each direction. Given the area of it, he would have cast it 1sq to the left to catch you both, as he cast where he did because it was I that thought it would, and the derro is obviously smarter than I am ;). Thank you for pointing that out, as I totally missed it. Feel free to correct me on any rules mistakes, I'm old to 3.X, but still new to PF, and a rules lawyer.

EDIT: it was 1 round in 3.5 also? Wow, I obviously don't play casters enough. Now I want to try and find the rules in 2E to see if it was that way then as well, and I've always just missed it.

No worries, Aardvark. I missed the sleep casting time through all editions til last month.

Neva hear's Copper's advice and, with her vision clearer and her hands more steady, aimed her crossbow again at the flying derro. She took an extra moment to aim her shot.

"Stay right there you fat, little..." she mumbled angrily.

Pravlox changes tactics a bit in hopes that something will get through to this pest. He moves forward to D13, calling the air elemental to assist him, which is does after moving to C15 to continue it's harassment of the derro. Just barely managing to shake off the horrid stench, Pravlox strikes at the derro with his spear.

Drawing his dagger and throwing it Rutter misses the little bugger, misjudging where he is inside the voluminous robes, but leaving a cut in the fabric all the same.

Neva, however, proves that with her frustration and anger, comes success. First was her blast of holy might, and now the crossbow. He grunts painfully as it hits him in the stomach, and grits his teeth against it. Despite her display in marksmanship, it seems it will take more than that to break his determination to affect the others.

That's 17 total he's taken thus far.
Concentration check 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (19) + 8 = 27

Top of Round 8
Pravlox gets his airborne ally to move in and provide a distraction with its attacks, and thereby giving the halfling the upper hand. With the added benefit, Pravlox makes a valiant swing, striking, but not quite hard enough to break the derro's tough skin.

Copper is left to go before the sleep spell finishes, and the derro gets his turn.

Confident in his ability to resist the spell aimed his way, and satisfied with Pravlox moving away so only one of them can be targetted with it, Copper takes only a few steps and begins casting a spell to throw at the derro, hoping to daze it, if only for a few moments.

Daze, DC 13.
If it works, I think he loses the spell, but I could be wrong.
If it doesnt work, Copper falls asleep.

No problem. I wasnt even sure if that broke the SR, actually, lol, and I figured he had a good Will save. Ah well, at least it's only a few rounds til Felgar can go again, I think.

As Copper finishes his spell, it looks like it might take hold, but the derro just manages to shake it off. Having fought through all the risk, he is happy to see his spell strike effectively, though he would have been happier if it had hit the other one as well.

He flies into the room with only Copper in it, leaving himself open to a strike from the elemental as he squeezes past Felgar's inert form. Turning with a wicked grin, he casts in the vicinity of the collected group. There is a loud bang, similiar to the ones created by the other derros you had fought, and the pain is as well, though lessened it seems. The ringing in your ears causes stars behind your eyes, and if you can't shake them away quickly enough, it might take you a little longer to fully recover from the bang.

Move to C10, getting an AoO from the elemental
Standard, Sound Burst, at the intersection of D14/C15, that hits everyone (except Copper of course), for 1d8 ⇒ 1 sonic damage (oooh a big 1), and must make a DC 16 Fort save or be Stunned.

Bottom of 8 (Rutter, Neva), Top of 9 (Pravlox).
Yes Copper, Felgar can go in the 11th, and once that happens I don't think this guy will last long. The luckiest thing that happened for him was Felgar's Fort save.

Pravlox shakes off the noise as the pest flees, once more dismissing his summon, and trying one last time to summon enough creatures to be stop him from fleeing, and once more getting only one as he moves to get in range (C12).

That assumes this guy is still going to be here when Felgar can move again. I doubt Pravlox is going to be able to hold him that long on his own.

I was waiting for Copper to post, then remembered that he is snoozing peacefully.

Rutter dashes in to make a stand in the middle of the other room, but Neva is so overcome by the noise, that all she can do is cover her ears and try to shake off the effect.

Pravlox swaps out his summons once more, this time he tries to block the exit in case the derro wants to leave.

The derro, irritated by the perseverance of the two halflings, flies to to other side of the open room and decides on a quick strike to make his point. He casts a spell and blasts Rutter with two missles of force, reserving the last one for the eagle in the path.

Move to D6

At this point, Pravlox is beyond annoyance, and simply wants this to end. Moving over to Copper (D-9), he readies an action to use his last summons of the day if the derro tries to flee, watching the derro quietly with a look of mild curiosity, waiting to see the next move in what was becoming a game of endurance and luck. Meanwhile the eagle falls back around the corner (H-10), still fully defensive.

Rutter hobbles away, his injury causing him grief, as Neva recovers her weapon and rushes into the room. Pravlox moves up to be ready for if the derro tries to make a fast getaway.

The derro looks to have no such intentions, he flies around the back wall a little before he targets a spell. A coruscating ray fires, and looks like it may have missed Neva, but it hits Felgar. You can tell that it may have been his intention all along.

Move, to B6

You take the half of four, I don't think it takes into account the temp str, it is Str damage, so if the enlarge ends, I think you lose that four as well. Anyone else know?

From what I can tell, the +4 from the spell is uneffected, so he'd lose 4 STR from his permanent STR, but as long as the enlarge spell is in effect, he still has the +4 from the spell. When the enlarge spell ends, any benefits from that spell end as well.

Pravlox slides over (E-6) before launching a dart of acid out of his hand toward the flying pest, having run out of any other ideas.
