Bleeding heavily the priestess is on the edge of death.
"No. No. NO I WONT FAIL. MY WORK IS NOT DONE. OH PALLID PRINCESS YOUR SERVANT BESEECHES YOU HELP ME STRIKE THEM DOWN SO I CAN CONTINUE YOUR WORK!"
as she says so her eyes open wide in surprises and her body begins to become covered in pustules and she coughs up some blood and she slumps down apparently dead. Her body is even decomposing very quickly from the bottom up. Her legs are already just bones.
Crain Tresselmore |
"Get me to a healer! I've gotta have my eyes. I can't ogle at Mai without them!"
DireMerc |
As you speak a green glow surrounds the body of the dead priestess and it floats up in the air. The body is filling up with power and is beginning to crack and light is coming out of the cracks in the corpses finally the upper body explodes and the high priestess is transformed into something new. What was once a woman now towers as a monstrosity of ectoplasmic flesh, horns, and a tremendous scythe-like claw. Seems her goddesses heard her prayer and answered.
Within the church of the goddess of undeath, few more coveted stations exist than that of the "Daughters of Urgathoa" yet no high priest can bestow the title, and no living worshiper can take the role. Rather, daughters are selected by the god or goddess of death, chosen from the most zealous and accomplished priestesses at the moments of their deaths. Even after their transformations into things of pestilence and dead flesh.

Crain Tresselmore |
"Well, I don't see any reason to be twiddling our thumbs here. Let's find what evidence we can carry, and strip this place of its valuables before the guard shows up!"
Donagar |
Donagar inspects the woman's body for valuables.
"I still think tha we had best set this ting on fire an burn it till nothing remains, I would hate tah see this one brought back!"
"Anyone else need some healin?"
Donagar continues to ponder the problem of this one returning or being brought back if they leave an intact body here...

Just gonna list her gear you can identify it in game later.
-+1 vicious scythe
-+1 breastplate
-Cloak of resistance +2
-Periath of wisdom +2
-wand of cure serious wounds with 37 charges
-wand of remove disease with 8 charges
-scroll of dispel magic (divine)
-three blocks of incense of meditation
-several sticks of rare exotic incense (worth 500 gold)
Crain Tresselmore |
"We could just dump her in one of these vats of acid. I can't see that would do her any good. Assuming it works, we could stay here until she's gone forever."
What do you all think for Crain? Keep the falchion, or go for the vicious scythe? When I do crit with the scythe, it would be insane. Vicious could be a good enhance, net for me as well.
DireMerc |
You have stripped her body of usefull items and tossed it a a fountain of acid so you decide to move on and search the rest of the place.
You eventually find a another lab were you find someone still working on a corpses.
The man is clearly not human you can tell that even from a distance away. He has pale grey skins and long pointed ears as well as red eyes and elongated claws.
He is a nosferatu vampire
He stops working as you approach you can see that behind him are two steel tables on one is Cedric your missing companion and on the other is Ruan the bard that went missing at the manor.
"Well then you must be the source of all that racket I heard earlier. You can relax I have no intention of fighting you. My work has little to do with what the cult over there was doing and I have no love for Urgathoa, the red manthis or the grey maidens and the doctors. I merely agreed to a deal with them. I provided them with a few vampire spawns to use how they wanted and I helped them a bit with their own experiments and they helped me with mine as well as provided me with a lab and some peace and quiet. At least until now. I can see that I will not be able to continue my work here so I would like to make a new deal with you."
The vampire is clearly unafraid of you and you get the feeling he would be a formidable opponent in a fight.
Crain Tresselmore |
"We're listening. Say your piece, and let's figure things out."
Crain is holding that magical scythe, pondering just how magical it might be against this strange creature.

Crain Tresselmore |

Donagar |
"Look yer wantin a kingdom o tha dead, an this city is full o life, why not find yer own place fer all time, yer own plane err demi-plane, yah seem a patient sort. I wouldn't want tha crown o this place it's not tah mah liken. If yer gonna dream an scheme this is small potatoes, bub."
