GM, loathsome veil has a range of 60 ft. and can affect a maximum of 24 HD of creatures. By my reckoning, the red and blue Gray Maidens should also roll some saves.

If the catwalks are made of wood and rope, or anything that looks relatively *not* sturdy, could I instead attempt to sunder them? With a long halberd (7-8 ft. or so,) and the bonus from jumping off the table, I could probably smash something like that

If not, then I'll probably choose to draw my sling and fire once, since I've no intention of running off to the other room by myself.

The catwalks are made of sturdy wood, so yes, you could try to sunder them if you like.

My partner and I keep about 30 ant colonies (mostly him). We have two carpenter ant queens - Brunhilda (Camponotus ligniperda) and Egilona (Camponotus cruentatus) - that we bought online, and one carpenter ant colony that we captured in the wild (we saved them from their murderous Myrmica neighbours who were living in the same rotten log). In the "thicc" category, we also have three harvester ant colonies - two Messor barbarus and a Messor structor.

I'd still volunteer for the door, since the others can do more useful stuff right now, such as attack with sneak attacks or cast spells. Besides, I waas kind of hoping to kick it in.

Do we not get a surprise and a full round after it, since we won initiative? Or do you prefer us to do it separately?

Okay, quick question to people. It says day 8 up there, day 8 from when? Does anyone know the date?

Also, I might have a bit of flexibility in how I build Cal up to everyone else's level. Is there anything we're missing in the group that I could take care of? If I made him a bit of a healer, would that be stepping on anyone's toes?

I'll let the players speak about stepping on toes, but I'd be happy for you to play anything. I find that playing a character you can really enjoy helps more to keep the game going in the long run than having a "balanced party".

Everyone is level 6 now, so you should update yourself to that and buy enough equipment so that you have 16 K worth, with no single item worth more than 8 K. That total includes everything you had before, not just new purchases.
