Dear Mortals--
Looking over the treasure sheet.
There are a few items that I think we should hold onto for the time being:
Pots of Cat's Grace & Jump, Trinia's MW Dagger & Jewelry.
I think we should make use of the +1 Mithral Chain for the time being...who would wear it? Charlie? Barael? Nikolay?
If none of you want to wear it, Briar is happy to sell it.
Also the following item could be sold:
amber necklace and silver letter opener 700 Barael
Any thoughts?

OOH! I love posts like this!
Thanks Euan! My favorite!

Ah, so the necklace and silver letter opener were found in the sinkhole. Very nice. It's easily up for liquidation.
It would be awfully selfish of us to sell off the Mithral Shirt, wouldn't it ;) Someone should be calling on us shortly to retrieve it.
Wonderful summary, and I second Fondo's kudos!

Yes, Thanks Euan for inviting me. This is really a lot of fun. Also, sorry everyone for my absence this week. The spaghetti hit the fan and has been spraying me with bits of semolina and garlic a bit more every day. Someone turned the fan on low so things are looking up!

GM Evilan--
When buying the wand CLW, sell the amber necklace and silver letter opener, 700gp.
Thx.
For simplicity Saul offers an even trade for those goods and the wand. He has it in stock, so the transaction is complete!
Charlie - please note on your character sheet a brand new Cure Light Wounds wand fully charged.

Charlie, a rumor heard by a yahoo who spoke to another rumormonger said that you might be able to summon elementals or creatures or something that might be able to help with project DOLL. However, neither Briar (or I) recall hearing anything of the sort.
If the rumor is true, would you remind us in character? Briar might want to see if he can enlist your aid.

Nikolay Vasilevich |
So, various members would like to spend 2500 on housing and a tunnel and 1200 for a tomb. 2700/6 = 450 each. Nikolay is not really interested in either, but could likely be talked into it. Out of character it's a fun idea and I'm fine with chipping in. In character, I see Fondo only contributing to the house, while Briar and Dandi might just be for the crypt. Not sure about the rest.
Fondo Barondo |
The 2500 includes work on both the crypt/tunnel and the house. And the house expansion would provide a living space for those who only want to *work* in the warrens. So in the end splitting the costs evenly would make a certain sense.
The total would be 3700 though. 617 apiece.
I've not gotten a sense that Nikolay has found any real reason to be with the party. Any thoughts about changing that situation?
Nikolay Vasilevich |
I like my math better. :)
Eeek. Nikolay would much rather have a wand and continue sleeping in his flat. However, I'm still up for it.
In regards to Nikolay and the party, I'm not rushing it. I think the awkwardness is good for R/P.
Dandilion Dreamstruck |
Dandi is more than willing to donate to both. Since she just spent a fair chunk on spells, though, maybe she can keep a 200gold and donate the rest. That should lower the amount for the others. She's the one that wants both the DOLL house and the house house, she's willing to pay for it, as she has more money right now than she's ever dreamed of.
Barael de Gare |
In for a penny... (Keep your voices low, as the new puppy is taking one of his notorious power naps...)
Enlisting the services of the dwarven architect, Barael will have a hard time staying away from the work to be done. The more he knows about expenses and the expansion on the office property, the more he can defend himself to his mum.
As Barry sees it, the CAST-le DOLL-drums is a single construct, so when he's asked to contribute, he willingly obliges.
Briar the Lesser |
To be honest, in regards to DOLL, Briar is not for paying for workers/laborers.
That would be very counter to his stated purpose of using magic...and the entire point of Nethys.
Nethys teaches that magic can be used to change the world...and should be used as such...and if we're paying for such, especially for what will be a temple dedicated to him (in some parts), seems 'wrong' to him.
Barael de Gare |
Barael suggests that if magic is to be the sole means of reworking the Warrens, then his hand is excluded. Wouldn't the workers be in place for construction of the tunnel and topside only? And dwarven craftsmanship no less.
Barael de Gare |
Before I forget, Barael's looking to acquire the following from Saul's:
Wakizashi (35gp, 335gp if MW is possible)
Jutte (8gp)
2 Spring Loaded Wrist Sheathes (10gp)
If Saul can't acquire the Wakizashi individually, then Barael may have to fork over another 350gp for the MW Katana to complete the Daisho.
Barael de Gare |
Roleplay :) (Mayhaps Master Saul heard of such fine weaponry). Barael would be interested in acquiring a weapon that overcame the limitation of Piercing v Slashing, from the last encounter against the undead. Should there prove to be a a P&S weapon, I'm all ears :) Jutte had a nice look, but a flail would be appropriate as well.
Fondo Barondo |
Fondo also has a strange eastern wepon proficiency that doesn't quite make sense. Whip might make more sense, although he could have picked up a monk weapon proficiency while spending time with Ameiko in Sandpoint... :-)
DM_Euan |
My total for the construction efforts is also 3700 - 617 apiece. I'm going to round it up to 700 even for furnishings (presuming Fondo hires the Varisians to manufacture furniture). It's likely too cheap, but that's fine - Varisians are working for a cousin. :)
The only hold-out at this point is Nikolay. Can he be convinced - or does he hold out and not pay into the pot? For now I'll assume he's convinced "for the greater good", but if I'm wrong please let me know.
Saul is unfamiliar with eastern weapons and suggests a Flail. "It is a very popular second weapon for many of my clients. I have a wide arrangement of them, including Cold Iron and Silver."
Fondo might have heard of such weapons, but only third hand and not enough information for Saul to get a good bead on them. Still, Saul promises to ask around. Remind me next week (game time that is) and I'll have him make another roll. Perhaps in time he can get you what you seek.
Fondo Barondo |
I respect that. But since we both have class-based weapon proficiencies that ARE Eastern weapons, I wonder if there might be, say, an exotic weapon or such we could swap in. I'm thinking the relatively common ones, like whip or dueling blade or bastard sword.
Barael de Gare |
*Barael looks back and forth between DM and Fondo with doe eyes.*
I'm right there with Fondo- a comparable weapon that lets Barael avoid those twitchy sitches where he has to make quick enough exchanges to get to those weapons that will penetrate DRs. You know my mind regarding the dual nature of most Italian rapiers, meant to slash and pierce at the desire of the swordmaster.
Barael will take the cold iron flail happily, and swish about for those spring loaded wrist sheathes as well.
Fondo Barondo |
I'm using this picture for another character, but I find it rather Fondoesque as well. Not porn, but perhaps NSFW. Gratuitous beefcake.. Hubba hubba.
DM_Euan |
For those of you considering Leadership as a feat please email me off the boards. In particular I need to know what sort of personage you want as your follower. I don't need all the info (unless you want to provide it) but this is a group effort. I don't want to stick you with someone you don't want, and it all needs to remain in balance as well.
As for the low level followers I plan to hand wave that largely. I don't want to get bogged down with a bunch of low level mooks. :)
Barael de Gare |
Just for clarification, Barael obtained a cold iron flail and two spring-loaded wrist sheathes, right? Two tidbits- wasn't recorded on the spreadsheet o gold, and didn't know if Saul was offering up a MW version of the flail. Just cleaning up the char sheet :)

Merry Christmas or whatever to all.
Did I tell how much I enjoyed puttering around my apartment watching Law and Order on netflix and drinking wine all day? No? I guess I just didn't get around to it. Too busy.
Barael, wanna grab some Thai for lunch some time this week?
