Rereading the posts, Trinia says at one point she never met the queen and at another she did. DM typos or discrepencies in her story?


My error.

She never 'met' the Queen formally, but the Queen was present at one point during her questioning. Not the entire time, but rather a drop in visit. Cressida would be able to confirm that according to sources the Queen did in fact take part in some of the questioning of Trinia before she escaped.

Anything else is me mixing up the story for which I apologize.


The corridors on the map are about half the distance of the actual corridors. The map scrunches them to fit nicely and neatly, but in reality the complex is a little larger and more spread out with more corridors and slightly smaller chambers.

We'll just have to make do as I'm not going to do all new maps for this part of the adventure.

Would it be better/permissible to take average rolls for wand of CLW in non-combat situations?

Also, in times like now (post combat), do you mind if heal/roll on our own so Charlie doesn't need to manage the processes? We could denote charges used.


I'm fine with the average in non-combat situations or rolled. Your call.

And yes, feel free to heal on your own as long as Charlie can track the charges reasonably. Seems to work well in PbP.

You'll need a new wand pretty soon at this rate! :)


For reference...

When I say you're doing a quick search, I'm assuming everyone is taking a quick (1 or 2 round) search of the room you're in while taking-10 on your perception checks. If you want to do more detailed searches you may always do so by rolling and taking more time.

I do this to speed things along a bit and so you'll find anything more or less obvious. If you want me to stop doing that I will and we can roll each room individually. Just let me know. :)

Oops, we screwed that one up Charlie sorry to lead you astray. You only get one extra second level spell learned not two. So you get either sound burst or lesser restoration, not both. Pick one please. :)


As far as residences go, I encourage you all to develop some roots. Keep in mind that you are currently squatting at the apartment, and the Guard may come at any time to roust you from that local.

As yet, no one in the party has a 'stable' residence. This is what I have currently...

Charlie is sleeping rough with the sewer dwellers when he's not with the party.
Barael is crashing at the Citadel.
Nikolay is now sleeping at the squatted apartment.
Dandilion is at the apartment
Fondo is at the apartment.
Briar is planning to move into the Doll warrens.

There is a library still in the warrens along with some lab equipment (too much to carry in one go). There is the makings for a functional alchemy lab at the apartment, but it's not yet ship-shape. All other gear is 'personal' and with each individual (and theoretically noted on their aliases) though there are still some things to sell/distribute from the last bits.

I know I have some choice in how I direct Fondo, but it just simply doesn't seem in character for him to live in a cave in a cemetery. Varisian superstition and the fact he's quite sociable. Quite a dilemma for him, really, given that building a family is his primary motive. Apologies in advance for any resulting drama and conflict on his part.

DM_Euan, how many people can the apartment comfortably hold? My sense is that it has 2 bedrooms, a living room and maybe a separate kitchen.

Quite the pickle. Especially since some our adopted family wants to delve into poisons. And another 'dreams' (teehee) of harvesting spiders. And yet another wants a place to delve into magic and craft in quiet.

I'm sure we'll find a solution. Someone out there might have a better plan than mine: a bunch of green paint, some foliage, and a few skeletons. Just paint the skellies green, adorn them with leaves, and have them be performance art/trees...they could move every once in a while to provide mobile scenery.

Have insomia? Heck, you can have them march in a circle next to your bed and pretend you're on a train.

In all seriousness, maybe our answer is somewhere else. There was the boat, and the abandoned tenement that Dandi used to call home. Or, we could just suck it up and buy something?

But, we do need something with *room*. We need a lab, a library, and personal space.


Zellara's old place had two bedrooms a large common area (which she used as a work space) and a smallish kitchen with a large storage closet (really almost as large as the whole kitchen).

Keep in mind the party doesn't necc. all need to stay in one place. There could be the caves for the bulk of the party and for workspace, and Zellara's (or something similar) for an outward face and a couple rooms. Maybe eventually a route through the vaults connecting the two (with a little research and likely some digging).

Space is available for sale in Korvosa, but it's expensive though much of the available space is owned by the city, so maybe sucking up to the Queen will get you something...

Figure a place large enough for the party - plus a library, a lab, maybe a small chapel or what-have-you will run ~30kgp in the Midlands. You might get away with half that in the old Korvosan district, but the property will be pretty dilapidated.

Given the sorts of things the party would want, the price will likely be higher - and that doesn't include furnishings and the like. Right now the parties net worth is ~46kgp. I don't think you can afford to buy property in Korvosa quite yet...

Renting is also an option of course until you can buy - no tunneling and you will have to deal with a nosy landlord (who will NOT like the sorts of smells and things you folks do). There are a few fine apartment suites in the Midlands like Zellaras for between 10-30gp a month.

You can even find a townhouse on the slopes (3 bedroom upstairs with a large storage closet, 2 large rooms downstairs and a kitchen) for 100gp a month.

To gain legitimate access to the Warrens, you'll need to talk to the priests of Pharamsa at least. Someone owns the crypt above, and therefor this complex. Some crypts go for as much as 1,500gp. As I've mentioned before, gaining Zellara's will be a discussion with the city, and a purchase price of probably ~6kgp or so.

I started Nikolay with an apartment in the Five Corners section of Northpoint. It's not much, but he doesn't need much. He was staying at the Citadel, but that was a matter of convenience and pride--now both gone. He's not ready to invest with the party yet. Their destinies don't seem that intertwined to him yet. Besides, the elf is amusing, but crazy. Fondo sings way too much. Charlie drinks too much. Dandi, well, she's odd but okay. And Barael just reminds him too much of his old self.

No objections to the selling of the macabre. Although, the elf is trying to take refuge in the deep, so he might want to look the part.

Barry's happy in the Citadel, a soldier's roots to be sure. The flavor of the campaign tells me that he'll lose his taste for the confines of the Citadel soon enough.

Being able to practice poison in the Warrens is nifty. And setting up a small shrine to Aroden in the cemetery has a poetic ring.
