You all go through the house, noticing the food is fresh as can be, the furniture is in perfect condition, and none of it should be. You get to a stone statue and grab the orb which is worth money and 2 ghoul attack as they animate. The room is 4 by 4, statue in the middle and ghouls at the opposite end of you all.

Agotaras hurumphs having made it to the battle too late. "Couldn't even leave one for the dwarf to thwack. Next time I will have to move faster to get in front I guess."

The dwarf kicks one of the downed ghouls for good measure. "Blasted undead scourge."

Wow go to City Council meeting and come back to dead ghouls. Nice work folks.

It was a orb in the statues hand, the statue itself is as tall as a person, and therefore you can't fit it in your pack, although a stupid orc might try.

Heroes go down to the basement and defeat a couple of rats and undead in there and finally they come to a 30 foot by 30 foot room, covered in 2 feet of water while the edges are raised above it, making everything except the edges of the room difficult terrain. It says to make a sacrifice on the alter or pay the ultimate price and face the shambling mound. There is a shambling mound laying down in the middle of the room.

The plant was alseep, so this is like surprise attacks to it, it basically just failed all saves. It has a rude awakening up as it howls and growls It just took 17 damage has faire fire on it
Shambling mounds are slowpokes, I'm just going to say it is last
Round 1, all heroes are up. any damage you did to it and actions you took was round 0 surprise and remember the room is 30 feet by 30 feet and the thing is in the middle, just say where you want to be, north end, south end, northeast corner, 10 feet from it, etc.

All the heroes hit except Zylfina ac is 12 They hack, slash, firebolt and blast the thing. 54 points of damage has been added, it is resistant to fire, before I factor in the moonbeam effect.
con save: 3 + 1d20 ⇒ 3 + (7) = 10 64 points this turn, plus 17 in surprise is 81 points, checking to see if everyone went before it takes its turn.

Talsazzar burns its foot resistant to fire, but you can't resist 1 damage
It goes trying to attack Fang hit: 7 + 1d20 ⇒ 7 + (10) = 17 2nd attack: 7 + 1d20 ⇒ 7 + (13) = 20 the first slam bounces off his helmet, only this 2nd time around it finds the non guarded area.
dmg: 2d8 + 4 ⇒ (4, 5) + 4 = 13 82 damage on the shambling mound round 2, hereos are up
