You spend a few minutes looking and find no levers or hidden areas in the passage. No magic in the other chamber.
Anaba Perception: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7
Buchart Perception: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (16) + 2 = 18
Cela Perception: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (16) + 9 = 25
Fernleaf Perception: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (15) + 6 = 21
Rolande Perception: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (6) + 9 = 15
Sekkim Perception: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (3) - 1 = 2

Taking time to look around however you do notice on the faded mural depicting the hero Kassen defeating the mercenaries at the entrance to this crypt, with his blade piercing the chest of the mercenary leader. These figures stand alone in the center of a scene of carnage, with dead villagers and mercenaries all around them.

During your search you notice that both Kassen and the mercenary leader are wearing golden necklaces, each made up of a simple golden chain, from which hangs an oddly shaped medallion. While not identical, the amulets look similar. there is no magic here however or hidden panels or passages and touching or pressing on the medallions on the mural have no effect.

Scarab Sages

Male Human Magus L8/Brawler L1/Bloodrager L1

The blue thing is my backpack-on-a-stick! Patented, of course!

Ok who is going in? I take it this requires two people to hold it?

Scarab Sages

Male Human Magus L8/Brawler L1/Bloodrager L1

Really? I figure that it might weigh 50 lbs. I have a 17 strength and it is upright to cover a person standing, so I can run if I need to. I would go alone, but don't know if the door at the other side is locked/trapped.

Oh, to Hades with it! I'll go and check the door!Detecting magic the whole time and moving quickly.

I admire your fine backpack on a stick (BPOAS) imagery. So your BPOAS is a one person thingy, no problem (was thinking stretched between two people). It will indeed give you +4 bonus to cover (AC), but not 100% and some arrows are likely to get through. True to your Chaotic nature, are you heading in to check if the north door in this room opens??

how low do the arrows go.. can Fahari go thru under the radar so to speak?
can i army crawl thru?

with pillows on my back?

It seems they go everywhere in the room. If you are in the room there is no dodging them your probably going to get hit ...depends on how well protected you are... FYI All the doors in this room open into the room.

Scarab Sages

Male Human Magus L8/Brawler L1/Bloodrager L1

Reactionary, too! IOW, BANZAI! After all, there is an innocent girl (as far as we know) to rescue from the evil horde!I'm glad we have plenty of Wands 'O CLWs! Here I go!

Scarab Sages

Male Human Magus L8/Brawler L1/Bloodrager L1

Perhaps I should make a backpack hat, too. That'll sell well in the market in Absolom!

Buchart dons his BPOAS and open the door moving to the north door. The pillar starts to spin then the door slams shut.
Arrows (non-lethal): 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (1) + 10 = 111d8 ⇒ 6
Arrows (non-lethal): 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (17) + 10 = 271d8 ⇒ 6
Arrows (non-lethal): 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (7) + 10 = 171d8 ⇒ 7
Arrows (non-lethal): 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (20) + 10 = 301d8 ⇒ 2
Arrows (non-lethal)Confirm crit: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (20) + 10 = 301d8 ⇒ 7

Outside you hear the door and Buchart pelted with arrows.
Buchart -15 That crit hurt!

Buchart tries the door and finds it locked and won't budge?
You hear the pillar continue to spin and spew arrows.

Buchart and anyone else, what do you want top do?

Scarab Sages

Male Human Magus L8/Brawler L1/Bloodrager L1

I am drinking a potion of CLW and heading back out!

OPEN THE DOOR GORUM DAMN IT!

Which way?

Silver Crusade

How deep is that pit in the center? Could there be a way to turn it off in there? Are there arrows being shot around inside the pit?

Scarab Sages

Male Human Magus L8/Brawler L1/Bloodrager L1

The way I came in here!
Next! If I'm still alive.

Silver Crusade

Also, if we wedge the door open and keep it from slamming shut, does it disrupt the mechanism?

Buchart yells for the door to be opened. He quaffs a Potion of CLW
Potion CLW: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 1 = 7
Buchart -8
as he moves to the Eastern door keeping the BPOAS between him and the spinning pillar of arrow death. He finds it wont open from his side!! "OPEN THE DOOR GORUM DAMN IT!

The arrows fly
Arrows Non-lethal: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (18) + 10 = 281d8 ⇒ 5
Arrows Non-lethal: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (20) + 10 = 301d8 ⇒ 4
Arrows Non-lethal: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (6) + 10 = 161d8 ⇒ 2
Arrows Non-lethal: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (5) + 10 = 151d8 ⇒ 8
Buchart -16 (you are staggered, but not unconscious).

Silver Crusade

Open the door.

Scarab Sages

Male Human Magus L8/Brawler L1/Bloodrager L1

I will stumble into the hallway and collapse on the floor.

Hey Sekkim, could I bother you for a snort of brandy? It looks like my invention needs some work! I think I would rather fight a score of undead than do that again.

I will differ to Fernleaf and Cela. The pillows are probably the best bet. But, as you can read below, this is only happening in my mind!

Sekkim opens the door to let Buchart in the hall. There some arrows spill into the corridor before you make it around the corner.
He gets a peek in the room as he does and realizes going into the 20' pit = very bad

Buchart Arrows Non-lethal: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (11) + 10 = 211d8 ⇒ 4
Buchart Arrows Non-lethal: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (9) + 10 = 191d8 ⇒ 3
Buchart falls into the hall
Buchart -20 -4 actual damage (unconscious).

Sekkim Arrows Non-lethal: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (19) + 10 = 291d8 ⇒ 2
Sekkim Arrows Non-lethal: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (5) + 10 = 151d8 ⇒ 1
Sekkim 3 points non-lethal damage before he dodges around the corner.

the door slams shut. You hear the pillar continue to spin and spew arrows for 1 round then slow and stop.

That other door is looking more attractive all the time unless Fernleaf cares to try pillows?

Scarab Sages

Male Human Magus L8/Brawler L1/Bloodrager L1

"Could I please get some healing?", dreams the unconscious Buchart. He has visions of hail storms and windmills. Tempests so terrible they rip your skin. Locust swarms and a deluge of bees...
dreamwavedreamwavedreamwave...
Hmm? Where did these backpacks co...oh, they're on a stick. Well, a staff really.
They're far to big to be practical. If they were much smaller, perhaps...
dreamwave...dreamwave...Those birds don't look too friendly...AAAAAAHH! There's too many of them! The feathers!!!

Fly me high and through the starry skies
Or maybe to an astral plane
Cross the highways of fantasy
Help me to forget today's pain
Ooh dream weaver
I believe you can get me through the night
Ooh dream weaver
I believe we can reach the morning light

Cela if you would use his wand please. - it will probably take 5-6 charges 1d8+1 each

Scarab Sages

Male Human Magus L8/Brawler L1/Bloodrager L1

Hey, what about the 19 charges (we actually used 22, but 3 where on me) we used from my Wand'O CLW at the Blakros? Will I get no recoarse for that? Waaaaaaaa!!!... You gotta love Gary Wright, though!

Buchart the human pin cushion...

There are a dozen blunt arrows unbroken in the hall around Buchart. FYI Tip of the day: They do full damage vs skeletons unlike normal arrows. Always a good idea to have both kinds available if you have a bow.

Scarab Sages

Male Human Magus L8/Brawler L1/Bloodrager L1

I have a new found appreciation for the "Blunt" arrow and will add 10 more to my quiver! There seems to be plenty in this place thanks to all the dead people that brought them and didn't use them.

You certainly know how they feel...not good!
Also on the map I marked the door as a one way door - now you know

curelightwounds: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5

curelightwounds: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2

curelightwounds: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 1 = 9

curelightwounds: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6

curelightwounds: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5

I personally think the other door is a better bet ... after bringing Buchart back out of his near death expirience I will head that way

After 5 charges (who's wand?) Buchart is back to full hitpoints.

Sekkim could probably use a heal as well.

Fernleaf do you want to open or does someone else want to use the other key??

heal on sekkim

curelightwounds: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 1 = 9

Scarab Sages

Male Human Magus L8/Brawler L1/Bloodrager L1

I will be letting someone else try it this time! Still a little sore. I think I've developed a rash, a fear of bees and of large flocks of birds!

Thank you Cela!

Phobias are a known side effect of Dungeons... you are welcome!

Now lets rescue the kid...

The party leaves the room of 1000 arrows for later and sets up in front of the North - East door. Fernleaf has the key and finds no traps.

Dark Archive

M Halfling Rogue L2

The drill:

Click, open the lock with the key, open the door, step aside.

This long corridor is flanked by a row of human statues, set into alcoves on each side. The statues look like Kassen, and each one holds a longsword out in front of it. The blades of roughly half the statues are wrapped in leather padding. The corridor ends with a door on the far North wall

The statues closest to us.. are their swords wrapped? Can someone detect magic or traps on these statues?

Yes, the closest four are wrapped up in leather. Buchart has the urge to charge down the corridor...;)

Cela's 0 level spells (at wil) —detect magic , guidance, light, read magic

Cela detects magic down the corridor and finds none.

Dark Archive

M Halfling Rogue L2

If someone could make me: Tiny, invisible, very lightweight or otherwise obscured, I would be willing to go to the end of the hallway to open the door prior to everyone running down the hallway disturbing the residents.

Dark Archive

M Halfling Rogue L2

I will check for traps:

Perception: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (15) + 6 = 21

If any are found, I will roll to disable:

Disable Device: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (4) + 5 = 9

Dark Archive

M Halfling Rogue L2

*smh* ohhhhhh.....

Fernleaf carefully works his way down the hall and finds a pressure plate between the third pair of statues. He works on disabling it but his hand slips and things go terribly wrong. The trap activates with all the swords coming down at once. sword left: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (12) + 10 = 22 sword right: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (3) + 10 = 13
sword damage: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2

After the swords drop they stay down. Crawling over the last two rows of swords close to the far door is dangerous business and will require acrobatics check to avoid damage. The first two rows have their swords wrapped in leather, so no risk of damage. The trap however is deactivated unless reset.

Fernleaf -2

This place just keeps getting better! I am definitely going to have words with Mayor Uptal when we get back to town! He should have warned us about all this!

It goes back to all those questions that were not asked at the beginning of these modules... "Here he is the Elf, err..I mean 1/2 Orc Sekkim. Welcome.
Unless you have any other questions off you go get on with this rescue mission!" said the Mayor.
Questions such as; What should we expect there?, What are the names of all the youth and what do they look like, how big is this place? etc, etc..., it is to be expected from novice Pathfinders live (hopefully) and learn.

Silver Crusade

Can we wrap the last two rows ourselves?

You spend 10 minutes dismantling the BPOAS and wrap the swords. There is no more risk, just difficult terrain 5' = 10 of movement.

Anaba Perception: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8
Buchart Perception: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 2 = 7
Cela Perception: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (13) + 9 = 22
Fernleaf Perception: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (12) + 6 = 18
Rolande Perception: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (8) + 9 = 17
Sekkim Perception: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (2) - 1 = 1

Cela spots some unusual stonework at the end of the hall which reveals a lever to reset/disable the trap.

Scarab Sages

Male Human Magus L8/Brawler L1/Bloodrager L1

It will be Joe Friday mode when dealing with the locals. You know, "The facts maam, just the facts."

Not sure how you want to be arranged in the hall. Feel free to move as you want. It's slow going single file down this hall.

Fernleaf is by the door at the far end with Anaba ready behind him.
