i need a new spear or more skill or really anything.. also apparently a new class

WTF? I want to roll my own dice!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Scarab Sages

Male Human Magus L8/Brawler L1/Bloodrager L1

Against my better judgement I am going to try Spell Combat again!
As a swift action I will spend a point from my arcane pool to enhance my weapon and swing and cast Disrupt Undead as a cantrip!

Take this you smokey...whatever you are!

Longsword: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 51d8 + 5 ⇒ (5) + 5 = 10

Ranged Touch: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 41d6 ⇒ 4

These dice are tainted!

At least you have a lioness that kicks butt. I just have this lousy itch on my brain!

Fahari attacks and hits with a Bite and claw ripping the undead shadow's essence apart.
Out of Combat
Anaba -11 Strength Damage (7/18 Str now +2 to hit and +1 damage) there is no healing for this in the party right now, but it will heal 1 point naturally per day of rest.

Everyone in the room eyes burn from the smoke.

Looking over the room
Anaba Perception: 1d20 + 4 - 2 ⇒ (3) + 4 - 2 = 5
Buchart Perception: 1d20 + 2 - 2 ⇒ (8) + 2 - 2 = 8
Cela Perception: 1d20 + 9 - 2 ⇒ (18) + 9 - 2 = 25
Fernleaf Perception: 1d20 + 6 - 2 ⇒ (17) + 6 - 2 = 21
Rolande Perception: 1d20 + 9 - 2 ⇒ (12) + 9 - 2 = 19
Sekkim Perception: 1d20 - 1 - 2 ⇒ (1) - 1 - 2 = -2

It looks like there was a big fight in here. You see several old bones on the floor, similar to the ones for the skeletons you fought. There are however 2 other sets on remains, but they have mostly burnt away with their gear. It looks like oil was poured over their bodies and equipment and set alight. There isn't any flesh left so it is difficult to tell the sex.

Cela and Fernleaf spot a key and a dagger in the fire with the pile of burning gear and bones.

Scarab Sages

Male Human Magus L8/Brawler L1/Bloodrager L1

I will detect magic.

Scarab Sages

Male Gnome Wizard Illusionist Specialist Lv 12th

The key and dagger are magical. The dagger is +1. Not sure about the key

We need to get Anaba healed. First level dungeon crapola. How many days to get her back to snuff?

Scarab Sages

Male Gnome Wizard Illusionist Specialist Lv 12th

11 days if you want to rescue the girl there is no time . She hasn't eaten in 3 days.

Silver Crusade

Anaba, my old chieftain used to say that it's not the strength of the muscles that drives the blade, but the strength of the anger. So my question to you is, how angry are you right now? Because someone's stealing children, and probably plotting on how to steal more RIGHT NOW.

Scarab Sages

Male Human Magus L8/Brawler L1/Bloodrager L1

Me or Sekkim can Enlarge Person on her when she needs to fight. Could we piece together a set of leather armor for Anaba temporarily if her plate is too heavy?

Shes Ok Medium encumbered only penalty is 20' move

Silver Crusade

I'll carry her pack. If she's just carrying weapons and armor she'll probably be fine.

Key and dagger are still in the fire

Scarab Sages

Male Human Magus L8/Brawler L1/Bloodrager L1

I will use my greenwood staff to fish them out of the flames.

Are there doors leading out of the room?

Scarab Sages

Male Gnome Wizard Illusionist Specialist Lv 12th

You push the items out of the fire and let them cool before collecting them. Who has what? The only exit is the door off the main entrance room. I moved everyone there except the little rat.

I will take them both!! I can best use them and I have earned it.

Poor Anaba...

Silver Crusade

Ok, Smek, new job. Watch the barred door and come over here and let me know immediately if it opens.

Smek Stealth: 1d20 + 18 ⇒ (11) + 18 = 29

"Squeak squeak,yes master"

Fernleaf Perception: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (9) + 6 = 15

Fernleaf checks the door and finds no traps and it is not locked. He also spots some bloody foot prints going into the room. Who wants to open the door?

Dark Archive

M Halfling Rogue L2

That seems to be my job. I open the door and move out of the way quickly.

There was a bloody fight in this room. Three dead bodies lie on the floor and several more broken skeletons.

In the center of this room is a large pool of clear water, fed by a fountain on the wall above it. The fountain has a stone statue of a weeping maiden holding the slain body of Kassen, but his head has been broken off and is nowhere to be seen. A voice booms out from the darkness, saying, “Magic is the key.” The voice slowly fades, leaving a dreadful silence.
There are two doors on the north wall.

Dark Archive

M Halfling Rogue L2

Can anyone do Detect Magic on this key we found?

Buchart did and the key is magical

Female Human (Shoanti) 147532-1 Fighter 1 | AC 22 T13 FF 20 | HP 71/71 | F +12 R +8 W +2 | Init +5 | Perc +10

I feel weaker, but I am ready to continue on with you, my band of brave souls!!! Let's continue on.

I move forward to join my fellows and head into the room.

Silver Crusade

Detect magic : what's magic in here other than us?

Anaba takes the lantern and heads in the room to look around. Scattered about the room are leftovers from the fight. There are at least 6 smashed skeletons with their rusty weapons and armor, none of which are useful. In the corner by the pool is the body of a young female dressed as a Cleric of Iomedae, a well known deity of goddess of righteous valor, justice, and honor. You find a mace, wooden holy symbol of Iomedae. Her splint mail his damaged beyond repair and medium wooden shield is broken in half. The contents of her backpack are scattered and nothing useful remains.

The other two dead are grown men, their chainmail is ruined, ripped open with numerous slashes. You find among their possessions, two daggers, a long sword, rapier, waterskin, 6 days of rations, 6 torches in a large sack and a flint and tinder.

Looking with a little light into the water at the bottom of the 40' deep pool are about 100 keys, all nearly identical.

Sekkim detects magic above the door you just entered Spellcraft to determine. Both doors inside have magic on the locks. To look in pool with detect magic, will need to move in the room.

Silver Crusade

I move into the room.

Looking in the pool there is a key that detects magic mixed in with the others. 40' down on the bottom.

Silver Crusade

I get to use my ranks in swim? Woot!

Sekkim sets down his pack, unties the sash that holds his pants up, and gripping his dagger in one hand, dives in the pool naked as the day he was born. If anyone wants to move in and support him in some way, like being ready to dive in after him or holding a rope tied to his waist, he'll wait for that to be set up.

I will take 10 if I can, otherwise:

sWim: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4

Silver Crusade

Hmm.

1/2 orc water ballet...You flounder a bit then start to sink (which is the first part of this anyway). You just go down 5' so far, not very pretty.

Intelligence Check: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (13) + 4 = 17

Perhaps grabbing something heavy would make the descent the easy part.

Anaba is next to you holding the rope tied to you (that is that the rope right?)...and her 7 strength.

The water feels cool (shrinkage), but fresh, clear and clean.

Scarab Sages

Male Human Magus L8/Brawler L1/Bloodrager L1

We can tie some of the broken armor together for a weight.

I will take the mace! Is it a heavy or light mace? Anything special about it?

Scarab Sages

Male Gnome Wizard Illusionist Specialist Lv 12th

You collect some broken armor wrap it up and tie it together with a rope. Looks like it will do nicely.

How many men did the mayor send after the kids? I don't remember him mentioning a lady cleric either.

Scarab Sages

Male Gnome Wizard Illusionist Specialist Lv 12th

The mayor didn't send them they were family members who went. 6 youth. The Clerics corpse has been dead a few days longer.

Scarab Sages

4 villagers went checking on 6 youth.

Silver Crusade

I will leave the dagger behind so I can grip the mass in both hands.

Scarab Sages

Male Human Magus L8/Brawler L1/Bloodrager L1

I think we can write off the relatives that came to the rescue! I've counted eight bodies on the map. We can actually account for 2 of the 6 young folk, one hold up in the room yonder and one was beetle food. The body count just keeps rising and new players are entering the board, though dead players. Hmmm!?

Magic doors and magic keys! Let's go forward then!

Anything you can tell me about the mace?

Any of the weapons masterwork?

Scarab Sages

Male Gnome Wizard Illusionist Specialist Lv 12th

Only 4 relatives came to the rescue.
Sekkim, You descend quickly and locate the key with your detect magic. It's easy swim up with help from the rope. You have. 2nd magical key

The cleric must have been a novice. Much like we are.

Scarab Sages

Male Human Magus L8/Brawler L1/Bloodrager L1

Well, now let's figure out what these magic keys do. Open two magic locks?

Dark Archive

M Halfling Rogue L2

Sounds right. Let's do it. Perhaps at the same time?

After Sekkim gets dressed and dries off and back in his gear, what are you doing? Unless he prefers to run through the undead horde in his skivvies!

Scarab Sages

Male Human Magus L8/Brawler L1/Bloodrager L1

I think that is probably the way to go, Fernleaf. Are the two keys similar other than them both being magic? What happens if we put the wrong key into a lock? Are there any markings on the keys that might suggest that these keys are for a particular door?

Silver Crusade

Sekkim would make an amazing nudist. What does he need clothes for? Nothing, that's what.
