Reinar Rolstad |
"What!? Already running? I'm not even warmed up yet!"

Kimi Eavewalker |
Kimi walks over to Reinar and hits his armor with her chair leg. "Nice blade work, big one. I'm Kimi. Are you human?" To the group "I need a sword. Anybody got an extra one?" She starts to search the kobold warriors. Kimi is a black-haired young half-elf girl with fierce green eyes wearing a leather hunting vest, slacks, and high hard boots, looking like a miniaturized adventurer. Her bravery flows from her need to protect Mikra, who she treats as her kid brother although he is older than her.
Mikra Jabbs |
Mikra goes to Bulgard. He looks up at the large man while mouth breathing. "Awe....wow...." Mikra’s difficult birth resulted in several mental deficiencies. He cannot read, is easily confused, and believes almost everything he is told. Mikra is well liked by everyone. While not incredibly bright, the boy possesses limitless kindness and his bright smile wins the hearts of almost anyone who meets him. Though the oldest of the bunch, Mikra is looked after by the others.
Edgrin Galesong |
Edgrin is a sweaty, moon-faced little halfling whose heart is as big as his stomach. His once debonair, brocaded, green-velvet doublet and silk leggings are torn and covered in grime, and his lute still hangs on a strap at his side although he splintered it on a kobold’s skull in defense of the kids. Edgrin is all courage and spitfire, and appears willing to die to save any of the children.
"Greetings, gentlemen. Your timing is impeccable. I am Edgrin Galesong, a member of the Gray Eagles, an adventuring troupe into the vale a week ago seeking treasure. The Gray Eagles were swarmed by a large hunting party of kobolds. Most of my companions were killed, but and a half-elf wizard named Tyran Moonsliver and I were captured alive and dragged back as captives destined either for eating or sacrifice. Originally dejected by the death of my friends, I consigned myself to my fate, but when the children were hurled into the holding pen with me I grew determined to help them escape. Tyran and I overwhelmed their guards with more than a little help from the courageous Kimi Eavewalker. As we sprinted for freedom, Tyran and Hollin were felled by paralytic-poison-coated spears, but the other children and I made it to this level. We took a wrong turn toward the forge, where I watched helplessly as the forge spurned there dragged little Jurin Kreed into the darkness. We reversed direction but the kobolds, fast on our heels, caught up to us here in the Mess Hall. Kimi and I decided to make a stand and buy Mikra and Savram time to escape." Edgrin is a sweaty, moon-faced little halfling whose heart is as big as his stomach. His once debonair, brocaded, green-velvet doublet and silk leggings are torn and covered in grime, and his lute still hangs on a strap at his side although he splintered it on a kobold’s skull in defense of the kids. Edgrin is all courage and spitfire, willing to die to save any of the children. "Savram fled the Mess Hall toward the north. Mikra made it as far as that table there."
Kibbo the slave |
Kibbo searches Yagric's corpse. He finds 4 vials. He sniffs them and looks at them from every angle. "Great Liberator B-bastard-Lizard I finds poison. Tiny centipede poison. You wants Great Liberator B-bastard Lizard?" He is having difficulty holding all 4 vials. As he approaches Great Liberator B-bastard-Lizard he drops one and it breaks when it hits the floor. He freezes in a contorted posture trying to maintain the remaining three vials.
Zevon Vierding |
Zevon will take the talon from Mikra and look it over.
It is a nasty little weapon young man, and a fine job you did in finding it for us. My name is Zevon. Tell me Edgrin, you mentioned forge spurned; while it is know to us that this was once a dwarven temple rededicated to a dark god of toil, that particular term is unknown to me. It is our intent to rescue all of the children taken from Falcon's Hollow, any information on their captors would be welcome. If you are willing, we could even use you help in escorting located children to safety as we search. Perhaps we could establish a defensible position as a sort of rally point.
Edgrin Galesong |
"The jangling of heavy chains echoeing ominously is the first thing I heard. Then A hulking dwarf wrapped in heavy steel links approached. Its face, hands, and body are riddled with glowing hot hooks and half-melted razor wire. Black smoke rises from its smoldering beard, framing its freakishly contorted face in ashy darkness. The tormented thing hefts a black iron hammer and as it charges the chains draping its form spring to life like metal serpents. It has Jurrin down there. It is my intent, sir to rescue these children as well. Savram was here just a few minutes ago. He ran that way, through those doors." Points to the north.
Lady Cirthana mentioned the forge spurned in Hollow's Last Hope Here
Yagrik had short spear, studded leather, 2 javelins
Other kobolds had 4 spears
Zevon Vierding |
Ahhh, yes, I understand now. Rhen, more of your kin that we will put to a peaceful rest. Kibbo, what is to the north of here? Anything we should be wary of? Also, what do you know of these forge spurned?
Zevon steps into the kitchen a takes a look around.
Zevon Vierding |
Very well. It seems the next point of order is to seek out Savram, strength in numbers and all that. With luck, those doors may provide a defensible position. With that in mind, it would be in our best interest to keep them intact. He gives Reinar a glance and good-natured grin Edgrin, you and the kobolds stay to the rear with the young ones.
Zevon loads his crossbow and holds it in one hand, his whip in the other.
Reinar Rolstad |
"Here. Pick one.", Reinar says, offering his dagger and longsword to Kimi. "I'm a human alright, i come from the Ulfen peoples of north at the region known as Land of the Linnorm Kings, and i too will be a Linnorm King one day.", he follows the group.
Rhen Vemsa |
"No peaceful rest for children killers. We be guttin' em and leavin' em ta rot. Torag won't be takin' them inta his forge." Rhen puts his game face on.
Rhen moves up to the door, checking to see if it is trapped and locked.
Detect Traps: 1d20 + 6 + 1 ⇒ (13) + 6 + 1 = 20
Disable lock: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (9) + 8 = 17
Igar The Terrible |
Rhen looks at Reinar still wearing his game face. "Ye be welcome to do yer thing. No traps, not locked."
Reinar says "Maybe I can get warmed up now." He pushes the door open battleaxe in hand. He looks about for victims....
This dark ossuary is cold and full of the sound of dripping water. A dark corridor runs north down the center of the room, while to either side two large bays open into small niches that contain ancient dwarven skeletons. At the far end of the corridor rests a large iron anvil. You can make out that Savram is crouching down behind the anvil. This grim mini-catacomb of alcoves contains the bones of several dwarven monks of the crucible. All of the niches were once barred with locked iron grates. The grates are rusted and broken along the far east and west walls. The ones that seal the alcoves directly adjacent to the corridor, however, are still solid. Each of the twelve open alcoves (six on each side) contains a dwarf skeleton. The sealed alcoves also contain dwarf skeletons, five on either side of the corridor.
Zevon Vierding |
Careful now. We have seen a similar situation in the citadel above. These corpses may be more animate than we would prefer.
perception: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (10) + 8 = 18
Zevon Vierding |
Zevon points and whispers to the crouched figure, willing the sound to reach Savram's ears.
Savram, I am Zevon. I have come with Edgrin to aid you. Is this a safe place? Motion if it is.

"You can take my longsword, little man.", he gives Edgrin his longsword and turns to Zevon, grinning. "Seems you're speaking my language today, i take the eleven on the left, if thats what you want.", he'll wait for everyone to be ready.
