My wife has very kindly given away our laptop (hopefull not permanently), so for the timebeing I'm withou access to Paizo. I'm hoping it's just temporary, so might be able to update the game later this weekend.

The Exchange

Is anyone playing in any other Pbp games that are looking for replacement players? I'd like to play in a game, but don't seem to have much luck on the recruitment threads.

DM, I might have a spot in a game. I promised another DM first shot at it, but if he turns it down, I'll let you know. I'll mark you down for the next opening in any of my games if you don't get in this one...

I just had someone drop out of my Council of Thieves game yesterday. If you're interested, I'll warn you that the pace of that game is slow. We're nearing the end of Book 1 and our two year anniversary is this summer.

Remaining players are a
Human witch
Half-elf rogue (thug)
Human barbarian (brutal pugilist)
Half-orc fighter/sorcerer
(all Level 2)

Take it, CH. My spot was filled my the person I mentioned yesterday, so I don't have openings in any of my games right now...

Would be pretty easy to work you in right now as either a prisoner that they rescue or as someone who was about to try to take out the Bastards on their own and realized someone else was already trying to do it.

The Exchange

Thanks, it really be an honor to play in one of your games, if you still have a space. I'll message you with a couple character concepts and check about the best way to fit into the game.

The Exchange

Sorry folks, tried posting an update over the weekend but the internet was playing up or something it kept freezing on me. Hopefully things are working a bit better now.

Don't forget to level up (see game thread), you'll need it! :)

Stats:
AC 14/14/11 HP 1/52 F+4 R+6 W+6 Init +7 Per +0/+2

Leveled. Major items are
3rd level spell: Haste
2nd level spell (from favored class bonus): Oppressive Boredom
0 level spell: Prestidigitation

NG Male Human Emissary 9 | HP: 91/91 | AC: 25, FF: 25, T: 12 | F +10, R +4, W +6 | Init +0, Perc +9

HP for 6th:
1d10 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4

Leveled as well. I picked up Exotic Weapon Proficiency (Bastard Sword) for my cavalier bonus feat to make use of that magical one we found. Smoke picked up a extra 2 AC from a natural armor increase, as well as +1 STR and DEX and Devotion.

Male Lion Shaman 9 | AC (22) 16/12/14| HP 79/79 | F+11,R+7,W+11 | Init.+8| Perception+17 |

Dammit, I knew I was forgetting something today! I'll try again tomorrow...

Male Lion Shaman 9 | AC (22) 16/12/14| HP 79/79 | F+11,R+7,W+11 | Init.+8| Perception+17 |

Okay, I just banged it out while I was sitting here.

HP roll 1d8 ⇒ 7

I have memorized Sleet Storm and Fog Cloud to try and hamper the vision of all those guards at the bridge, FYI.

Male Lion Shaman 9 | AC (22) 16/12/14| HP 79/79 | F+11,R+7,W+11 | Init.+8| Perception+17 |

Also, don't forget the potion of fly we took from the cyclops. Anyone feel like taking to the air to take on the dragon!?

Stats:
AC 14/14/11 HP 1/52 F+4 R+6 W+6 Init +7 Per +0/+2

Probably a better plan for a melee character in this fight. If they were all landbound, I'd be quite quick to take to the skies.

The Exchange

Thanks for letting me know the updates. Are you ready to face the dragon? I'll check back in and update tomorrow if you're ready to go.

Male Lion Shaman 9 | AC (22) 16/12/14| HP 79/79 | F+11,R+7,W+11 | Init.+8| Perception+17 |

Quick strategy session?

I can resist energy on anyone who wants to close with the dragon and deal with all that.

I can blind the guards with fog cloud, sleet storm and the like. If we can keep them in them sightless, we all might be able to focus on the dragon and bring it down, before we try to deal with everything else, like those nas hounds and archers. While I start laying down the cover spells, does anyone have any ranged attacks to harrass the dragon? I can drop a few lightning blasts on it, after I get the other spells cast.

Who is taking the potion of flying and trying to close with it, if anyone? That's the person who probably needs the resist energy, I think.

If we get the dragon down, we can take our time with the archers and study the bridge to see if we can bring it down.

Anyone have any thoughts about this?

Stats:
AC 14/14/11 HP 1/52 F+4 R+6 W+6 Init +7 Per +0/+2

Yes, I can haste everyone and help with the ranged blasts, but need to get him in relatively close. Same with oppressive boredom.

NG Male Human Emissary 9 | HP: 91/91 | AC: 25, FF: 25, T: 12 | F +10, R +4, W +6 | Init +0, Perc +9

Obviously I am best on horseback, but I suppose I'm also the best option for close up dragon fighting. I don't know if we could make Smoke capable of flight and logistically have her fly, even with handle animal. I suppose the only problem with flying up to fight the dragon is then being far away from inevitable healing, particularly if it gets a lot of natural attacks. I can issue my second and last challenge on the dragon, which lowers my AC against all other targets, though the others would theoretically be focused on you guys.

NG Male Human Emissary 9 | HP: 91/91 | AC: 25, FF: 25, T: 12 | F +10, R +4, W +6 | Init +0, Perc +9

I hate to say it with this huge fight starting., but I am going on vacation tomorrow and won't have internet access for 5 days. I am going to try and post from my girlfriend's phone, but I don't know how reliable that will be, so if I am absent I apologize. In case I can't post, I'll fully trust the group and DM with Ambrose's actions. He will simply try to take on as much of the dragon as possible and protect the rest of the group. I think he will just leave Smoke in the woods for this one, unless one of you on the ground would like to ride her for the battle for some extra mobility? Again, apologies, and I will try to post from the phone for sure.

NG Male Human Emissary 9 | HP: 91/91 | AC: 25, FF: 25, T: 12 | F +10, R +4, W +6 | Init +0, Perc +9

I'm back! I'll wait for the hobgoblins to go and then post if that's okay.

The Exchange

Hey Woodsmoke hope you had a good break. I've posted up the hobgoblins' moves now. Don't forget that Ambrose has the following spell effects cast on him - enlarge person, fly, resist energy (acid, I'm assuming), protection from evil, and haste (I think). More than enough to take on a little, measly dragon! :)

Male Lion Shaman 9 | AC (22) 16/12/14| HP 79/79 | F+11,R+7,W+11 | Init.+8| Perception+17 |

Yes, it was Resist Energy Acid.

Male Human Alchemist 9 (HP 58/58; AC18; Initiative +3; Perception +13)

So, I went on holiday last week and it turned out they didn't have wi-fi after all... but I'm back now.

Sorry about that, will post soon.

Hey all,
I'm back from Czech Republic. Will catch up on the stories and start posting again asap.

I posted in CHH's Serpent's Skull game about this, but I'm headed to Ireland for a family vacation tomorrow and will be gone until the end of the month. I do plan to try to post while I'm gone, but if I run into connection issues or simply lack of time, that's the reason. Since we're in a pretty climactic scene I'll try to stay on top of things.

Helaku is planning to begin blasting the bridge, pending whether he thinks blasting an inanimate object will cause his invisibility to go away.

The Exchange

Hey there Werner, could you tell me what spells Shaylar has for his wizard level? While I was NPCing him when you were away, had him cast a magic missile, I was trying to think what spells would appeal to an archer.

Hope everything's going well with the family.

Helaku, hope you're having a great time in Ireland, what an awesome place - I love it there.

Yeah, we're having a fantastic time. At a B&B just outside Kenmare on the Beara loop tonight.

Male Lion Shaman 9 | AC (22) 16/12/14| HP 79/79 | F+11,R+7,W+11 | Init.+8| Perception+17 |

Have fun, ML. I can only imagine how cool Ireland is!

It is very cool. We got to go in a castle today!

Y'know how it's really easy to forget to appreciate the things around you. You just get blase about them.

Well, I haven't been to a castle for months and last time I was a bit disappointed because the falconry had been cancelled.

Your post just put a huge smile on my face. I've decided, we're going to Kenilworth Castle at the weekend.

:D

All right! That looks like a great time. We traveled the Beara Loop today and head for the Kerry Loop tomorrow. Having a great time!

Nick, forgot to answer your question about spells for Shaylar.
First level spells he likes: Magic Missile, Shocking Grasp, Expeditious Retreat.

The Exchange

No worries Werner, thanks. Always good to know, especially just in case we need to NPC Shaylar for you. :)

The Exchange

Been getting some quality family time in, so haven't been near a computer all weekend until now. Will catch up with the posts just now, and have an update for you hopefully by tomorrow night. BTW, have any of you been at PaizoCon? How was it?

Stats:
AC 14/14/11 HP 1/52 F+4 R+6 W+6 Init +7 Per +0/+2

Not this year for me. Sounds like a lot of big announcements.

The Exchange

Should have an update tomorrow. Great con BTW, if anyone's taking part in "The Siege of Diamond City," it's awesome!

Stats:

No worries and I will be at GenCon. Great to hear its a blast!

The Exchange

Hi folks apologies for lack of updates, a couple RL things have cropped up. Have folks staying at the house for a couple days, so might be Tuesday or Wednesday evening before I can do a proper post. Can't wait - the fate of Ambrose (and Elsir Vale) hangs in the balance!

The Exchange

Helaku, Gen Con sounds amazing. So many games and players sounds mind boggling, I just can't take in the number. And I thought there were a lot of tables at PaizoCon UK!

Stats:
AC 14/14/11 HP 1/52 F+4 R+6 W+6 Init +7 Per +0/+2

Yeah, it was pretty amazing. Nice being in the Sagamore too as the high ceiling made it not quite as loud as I'd feared. Will be interesting to see what they do next year. Not sure if Paizo keeps that space or if it potentially goes back to WOTC. Probably depends who signs up as the top level sponsors.

The Exchange

So was WOTC not there at all this year then?

Stats:
AC 14/14/11 HP 1/52 F+4 R+6 W+6 Init +7 Per +0/+2

They were there. Did not have a space in the exhibitor hall, but set up shop in some other rooms. Ran a bunch of seminars too. I was too busy to see any specifics from them.

The Exchange

Treasure list on the Campaign Info thread has been updated with the items you found at the bridge.

Stats:
AC 14/14/11 HP 1/52 F+4 R+6 W+6 Init +7 Per +0/+2

I'll request the
- Wand of Magic Missiles
- Potion of Invisibility
- Potion of Cure Serious Wounds

I'm ok selling other consumables or with anyone else claiming them. Also happy if someone else wants to claim either of the potions. I think Helaku makes the most sense for the wand.

Male Lion Shaman 9 | AC (22) 16/12/14| HP 79/79 | F+11,R+7,W+11 | Init.+8| Perception+17 |

If no one is going to claim the gauntlets of ogre power, I suppose Leonar could use them.

I'll probably be the best place for the diving scrolls, in case I'm forgetting someone as well.

Stats:
AC 14/14/11 HP 1/52 F+4 R+6 W+6 Init +7 Per +0/+2

I think you're the best bet. I haven't been taking UMD.

NG Male Human Emissary 9 | HP: 91/91 | AC: 25, FF: 25, T: 12 | F +10, R +4, W +6 | Init +0, Perc +9

Aside from the sword I already took, I think I am good as far as the equipment goes. I guess we could divvy up the healing potions? Other than that I'm down for anyone else taking the rest or selling whatever we need.

Stats:
AC 14/14/11 HP 1/52 F+4 R+6 W+6 Init +7 Per +0/+2

Yes, divvying up the healing potions is a good move since we have minimal healing in combat.

Male Human Alchemist 9 (HP 58/58; AC18; Initiative +3; Perception +13)

Helaku might want the alchemist's fire.

Using it as a component in casting flaming sphere is pretty neat.

The Exchange

Ok, have updated the treasure list with your requests.

Leonar, as it happens gauntlets of ogre power didn't translate as seamlessly into Pathfinder as other items from 3.5. Treat the gauntlets as per a +2 belt of giant strength, except that they are worth a bit more as they take up an atypical item slot, in Pathfinder parlance.

Feel free to divide the healing potions any way you like, but if it's reasonable you could divide them as so:
Aleste - 2 Cure Moderate, 1 Cure Light
Ambrose - 3 Cure Moderate
Helaku - 1 Cure Serious, 1 Cure Light
Leonar - 3 Cure Moderate
Shaylar - 3 Cure Moderate

I think actually that it might be Leonar that has flaming sphere, but as there are so many flasks of alchemist's fire you might find them helpful to divide equally amongst yourselves as well.

If you have anymore requests, just let me know. Otherwise your individual shares of the sold treasure is 2,842gp each.
