Hello, everybody! We have, unfortunately, lost three of our players for this adventure, and I'm looking to recruit some replacements that will show up once the party leaves the Westcrown sewers. I'll be leaving this thread open for about a week, giving the current party time to get out of the sewers, and to their new base of operations. You all will be joining them upon their arrival, as current members of their little resistance group.

The party, at the moment, is in need of a strong melee character, a ranged combatant/switch hitter, and some type of arcane support. We have just lost our paladin and arcanist, and our investigator bowed out earlier. By no means do you have to replicate the class/role of anyone who left exactly, but playing to similar strengths is what will get you recruited. Anyone who applied previously, feel free to apply again with the same or different characters.

Would an urban ranger work?

Yes, an urban ranger would be an acceptable character concept. I'd suggest taking a look through the CoT player's guide.

Dark Archive

I assume the ranger would aim the ranged combatente/switch hitter... if so, I will take the melee one. Do you prefer a char focused more on damage or defense?

The paladin was built as more of a tank than a heavy hitter, but either would suit the party well. The UC Monk should be a pretty competent damage dealer, as should the kineticist, so I'd lean SLIGHTLY towards a more tank-y character for this party? That said, a mix is always a good idea.

Hey Jon, I might be interested in joining up. I've been having a lot of fun in your other game so far.

I'd be more than willing to bring you aboard. For the moment, character creation rules are still up in my first post, but I will be making another post detailing it in full some time tomorrow; I will be available for questions as needed, as all my classes for tomorrow were either moved or cancelled. I also ask that potential players read through what has occurred in the game thus far, so as to see the party dynamic as well as the capabilities of those remaining.

Andrezi Arroway, Urban Ranger submitted for approval.

Hey, GM--I've expressed interest in this AP before. I've got a sorceress statted up and ready to go. She needs some reworking to fit the campaign.

Is the Arcane slot still available?

Dark Archive

Ok DM, tanky we go! Should finish it by the end of the day!

I would be interested in an archer focused bard. Covering ranged, face skills, and arcane. Let me how if that would work.

Background, etc. completed. Let me know if you need any clarification. Thanks for the opportunity.

Working on this halfling witch. Background up.

Dark Archive

Arcane Support so like Full on wizard would be bad? or is that what your angling for. If not wizard then i suppose bard would be arcane support, ill work up both and have them ready before week is out.

Sovereign Court

Submitting Baldur for the "tank" spot. Will work on the background later.

I intend on using Shield of Swings quick often, so his AC will bump to 22 before any other modifier (fighting defensively)

I haven't selected any slots yet, and won't be for a few days, to let all interested parties take a look at the game and get a concept ready.

Ooo! Ooo! Ooo! You're looking for arcane support, yes? I think I've got the perfect concept for this! Gimme some time to get the math and background done, and I'll toss him in.

Also, as a note, just received word from the investigator that he's all set to rejoin the campaign, so I'm only looking for two applicants. If you were working on an applicant who is a switch hitter or something similar, feel free to continue! If I like the character, you're just as likely to be selected as someone else.

Background:
One would not expect to find kobolds living beneath the city of Westcrown, but true to their racial tenacity, a small population inhabit the sewers below the city. While not large, the Wyrmcrown tribe thrives beneath the busy streets, feeding off the refuse of the populace above and very rarely venturing into the streets to scavenge for supplies. However, Skalezaar is something of an outlier among his kin, and in spite of his potent sorcery, does not seem to care much for the rigid order that worship of Asmodeus brings. His desire to reorganize the current structure of things makes him relatively rebellious among his tribe.

However, Skalezaar recently found his chance to change things and perhaps not just rebuild the city's chain of power, but put himself somewhere at the top where he belongs. A chance encounter with members of the Westcrown Resistance navigating the sewer network made him a desirable asset - after all, kobolds are notorious trap makers and experts in stealth. Not to mention, having someone familiar with the sewer systems would make getting around unnoticed much easier. Offering him a chance to change things in his favor and topple the current rulers of the city, Skalezaar agreed to work with the Resistance and lend them his might in exchange for promises of power and wealth when their task was accomplished.

Personality:
Skalezaar is calculative, methodical, manipulative, paranoid and proud of it all. He hates leaving anything to chance, and dislikes engaging in frontal combat unless absolutely necessary. When he does, he likes to put his foes at a severe disadvantage and allow others to deal with the threat while he offers aid from afar. Of course, his true strength lies in his ability to plan ahead and prepare nasty surprises for his foes, not even dealing with them if he can help it.

Skalezaar has a way with words, having grown up in a tribe that reveres Asmodeus. He realizes that like it or not, he lives in Cheliax, and that one must be aware of language when mingling with devils and their ilk. Skalezaar is wary to accept aid unless it may benefit him in some way, which can make him hard to work with at times. However, his one major weakness is a fondness for gemstones and other glittery objects (rubies in particular), making it easy to persuade into doing things.

So, I had a read through the gameplay thread... and man, you guys need some major help.

Luckily, I happen to be astoundingly amazing at magic, stealth and ambushes. And incredibly handsome, of course. So if you guys get me, prepare to start meeting with success!

Yep, I read through the gameplay thread as well.

All I can say is... ouch. RNGesus hath not been kind to thee.

Anyway, I've completed my submission for this campaign.

Tassira Vantyev: a sorceress of the old bloodlines, raised in a devil-worshipping household, but determined to fight them any way she can.

Perhaps she can join the party at some point near the end of the trip to the safehouse?

Well, I am fantastic at Swashbucklers, though I am a little tired of the same ole... However, if you need an unbelievably reliable frontliner, I'd consider one more, especially since I've been reduced to one by closing games.

However, my better ideas are flowing more towards Warpriest or possibly a two-fer like a summoner or Hunter... could fill your switch hitter role.. Lemme know if any of this sounds good to you, I'll work up concept and stats when I get a moment.

Sovereign Court

Well, I think I will withdraw my application... sorry!

Still here, and still eagerly waiting on the GM's final picks! :D

Are you still looking for replacements?

I am, I've simply been waiting to see if anyone else would desire to join. I'm going to confer with the current party members, and then I'll let everyone know who I'd like to join the group.

Alrighty then. :)

So... any word yet?

Actually, yes. After talking briefly with the current party members, I'd like Tassira and Andrezi to join the party. I'll be speaking to you both about how I'll bring you into the game shortly, as you will likely be showing up pretty soon.

Yay! :D

Huzzah!

Would you like us to post in the Discussion thread?

Yes please, that would be excellent.
