Council of Thieves

Game Master Zenkotsu

continuance of real life Council of Thieves campaign.

After making your way from the Arvanxi's mansion back to the hideout, you take a while to mend your wounds and get ready for the battles to come.

Well, we already did that, and Aeryn and Daechir already did a little shopping

Aeryn spends some time cleaning up her work area. Daechir had been wanting poisons for a while, so she figures now is the time to get to work on making them and applying them to his weapons.

She also asks around to see if anyone in the base has the knowhow to trap some dire rats for her.

As this is happening, she also stops in to the Pathfinder agent to give her the symbols she asked for, and to also discuss what they are needed for and such.

attempt to use the dice roller is a go Shenanigans: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (14) + 2 = 16

I have "3400 gold" written in my valuables. I think that is something we were supposed to split? Your call, Zen. Also, I am gonna be using Imp, Zen, Big and Kan for ooc stuff. Pretty obvious, but I feel I have to clarify. Spells prepped for today: Ray of Frost (1), Detect Poison (2), Mage Armor (1), Idetify (1), Feather Fall (1), and Ranger spell is Speak with Animals (1)

Daechir looks for either Arael or Janiven to see if there had been any developments while they were gone. He also wanted to inquire about whether anything had occurred with that guy we framed.

"I can MAYBE try to trap something like that. I doubt it, though. I'm probably going to walk around to see if I can find a good map for where some manticores have been spotted. I want to see just how strong that poison is."

Imp, is there a specific type of poison you are trying to make? I suppose you still have the ingredients you stole from Arvanxi's house.

Aeryn
When you approach Ailyn she immediately notices the relic that you are carrying. Stunned, she asks: "I trusted you would return, but to retrieve the relic from the Knot so quickly is astonishing!" When you ask about trapping dire rats, you are met with a confused look. "Why would you want to trap something so disgusting" seems to be the general response you receive from those in the base.

Daechir
You notice that Arael is here, however Janiven, as usual, is nowhere to be found. When you inquire as to the fate of the person you framed, you are met with a knowing expression. Arael simply informs you that a wealthy noble was recently arrested on the grounds of stealing gold from Mayor Arvanxi.
After searching for a while, you find that there is a marsh adjacent to the Adivian River about 40 miles to the north. This seems like a likely place for a manticore to make its home.

No, I'm waiting for Daechir to ask. He was asking about it before the fiasco with the Knot.

"We met with trouble, but also fortune, within the Knot." Aeryn makes sure they are alone before continuing, and then asks, "Do you have any books on the binding or exorcising of demons. I'm worried about something that happened within the Knot, but I don't want to scare anyone yet. Also, phylacteries, do you have a way to get information on those. There were lots of dangerous things in the Knot, and I want to make sure we didn't inadvertently bring any back with us."

Diplomacy time, to work on building up a repartee with Ailyn. Taking a 10 for 25

Aeryn stays and also talks about happenings with the different factions and such, and news of current events.

Well, I forgot to finish my post, so here's the response the rat trapping thing

Aeryn generally gets a little upset at the responses, but does explain that she needs them for work on studying healing and how to help organisms be more resistant to damage. She does not, however, mention the werewolf blood she purchased.

male Dwarf 5

probably the stupidest post so far but is there a box with a lock and key that iglaf here can get a hold of

Big: Chest So probably, you would just have to find someone who made/sold them. Not too uncommon of an item; people like securing valuables. A false-bottomed one would be harder to acquire, though.

If he was away from the base searching, Daechir will return.

"I am thinking about murdering a manticore. I want to see if this poison is actually as good as they told me, and I could always get in good favor with the person who wanted it. May be useful later on. Or I could try to talk it into helping us so that it can feed on as many of the city officials as it wants and helping me kill a rival of its. Either way, I think it will be interesting." He wasn't willing to admit it aloud, but he needed their help if he was going to do it. Besides, he never said that he wouldn't leave them all stuck in the marsh or that everyone would make it back. And at the thought of murder, he looked around to see what Archer and his Roc were doing.

"Oh, yeah. I need a name for her. Princess isn't intimidating enough, so I'm not gonna do that." He thought it would be hilarious if he was shouting out "hey, princess" or something while fighting, but it would get old fast.

Big: Getting a box like that shouldn't be too difficult, it would be fairly trivial for a locksmith to make one

Aeryn
While speaking to Ailyn, the topic of the Council comes up. "The Council may be planning on making a move against us soon. Unfortunately an incursion like ours into the Knot wouldn't have gone unnoticed by them. When Janiven returns we should know the full extent of their plans, until then I would focus on preparing myself for the events to come."
You are also informed that it would be simple for somebody like Daechir to trap a Dire Rat, they would likely be found in the Sewer or shallow marshes.

Male Kitsune Bard 5

"Daechir I would gladly assist you in anyway that I can, but I am not sure what I can do."
*With a Wink*
"Perhaps you could give the Manticore fur to your lady friend on a double date with myself and Cali? If not, I will be going to pay her a visit anyway. Either way before that venture could you take me to the man who you and Aeryn purchased the items from so that I can ask him to craft me Bracer's of the Glib Entertainer http://paizo.com/pathfinderRPG/prd/ultimateEquipment/wondrousItems/wrists.h tml ? I will of course cover the crafting cost."

Sidenote: How long have people been doing other things? If enough time has elapsed maybe we could say I already went to Cali's or just performed a bit around town?

About the stuff on repelling/trapping demons or phylacteries?

Daechir looked at Lorne with a soulless stare. "I doubt it. I'm just wanting to get different nobles on our side. That way, it can cause more internal problems. But sure; I'll take you there. Whether someone will craft you anything is another issue, but that's not my problem."

Male Kitsune Bard 5

"Talking to the man won't be an issue, knowing who he is and him trusting who I am will require you."

We should try to acquire some Saline Purge. Cost 900GP per dose, but it's pretty good. Can't find a link online, but the text in my Magical Marketplace thing says: The putrid concoction in this glass bottle smells foul and tastes worse. Anyone who drinks a dose of saline purge must succeed a DC 14 Fortitude save or become nauseated for 1d4+1 rounds. Whether or not this save is successful, the imbiber is cured of any curses or poisons affecting him as his body purges the ill effects. Zen. I'm gonna see if any of the people at the black market want the blueprints to the mayor's house. I figured a nice thief would like them.
"I meant that I don't know if he would have the ability. If we're going to the market, let's go." Daechir looked to his Roc and told her to stay around here. "We'll go hunting later, but I can't have you following me around the city. Especially into the deserted part we gotta go to."

"If you are going to the market, I'm coming along. I feel we should store up on potions and wands, just to be sure."

Before they leave, Aeryn makes sure to put on her studded leather armor, but leaves her black coat at the base. It was an expensive piece of work, and she didn't want to draw attention to her and the other's recent influx of currency.

You probably want to look for poisons Riley, since you're the one who wants to use them. I'll buy the ones I'll use, but you need to figure out what you want.
We should also probably wait for Charles before we go. Someone let him know by text or something.

male Dwarf 5

"I will come with you because even though it might be a trip out it is still dangerous for our group to be separated"

As they leave, Aeryn makes sure to bring about 300 platinum with her, for potions and and wands and stuff. She throws on her taveling cloak on the way out, to slightly hide her armor.

Male Kitsune Bard 5

Lorne comes fully prepared with the 400 platinum his new Bracers will cost along with his armor and weapons should he need them. Before the group leaves a thought occurs, "Oi Daechir, your Roc isn't going to try and sit on our dragon eggs is she?"

M Half-Elf Wizard-1/Ranger-4

Ah-HA! Got it figured out.

"Dunno. But it's not like it really matters. Or that I can control her every move. She's got free will. Much more than this guy." Deachir pokes Archer while he talks about him.

Just testing with an alias

"Don't worry Lorne," Aeryn turns to say, "the eggs are locked up, the Roc would have to be skilled at lock picking to get them."

Male Kitsune Bard 5

With a smile he flashes a fox face. "Hey you never know, animals can be smarter than people!"

Liberty's Edge

Female Human Rogue Poisoner 1/Life Oracle 4

"I'll close the door to my room, if it makes you feel better?" Aeryn says, sending a sarcastic smile in Lorne's direction.

Zenkotsu, just let us know when we get to the market so you can describe it and stuff. We've all left, we just need you to set the scene.

M Half-Elf Wizard-1/Ranger-4

"If you were considered an animal, my attempts to tame you would have gone better and she wouldn't have had to erase parts of-...Yes. You are most certainly a wild animal. There are days we fear you will go on a hungry rampage and eat half the town. Much in the same way we fear her when she gets really... irritable." He was lying of course, and the last part he said was in sylvan; Daechir didn't want everyone to hear him making a joke. It wouldn't do to let the others think he was anything but a jerk. He doubted Aeryn had that ability and he definitely didn't try to tame him at any time. He wasn't even trying to sound serious; it was obvious he was being highly sarcastic.

As you all arrive at the Dusk Market, you notice that many of the personnel seem to be missing. Most noticeably absent is the man who sold Daechir his bow, and the evil cleric who had promised to help you. You don't see the poison-monger Gnome around, but that could just be because he is in his lab. You feel the eyes of the guards turn to you, as usual, a group of four draws the attention of wary guardsmen.

Liberty's Edge

Female Human Rogue Poisoner 1/Life Oracle 4

Well, crap. That cleric guy owes us!

"The cleric who owes us for the... items we acquired for him does not seem to be here. I will go check on the poison monger, if you wish to follow Deachir."

Aeryn waits for Deachir to respond before she goes over in the direction of the lab.

Male Kitsune Bard 5

"Well bloody hell! I suppose I could just acquire a nice Ocarina somewhere, maybe that would help give my performances a competitive edge." With a smirk. "Anything to please the Lady Pharasma."
Knowledge Local: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (8) + 8 = 16
"In the meantime I think I will be saving or looking for something to boost my strength," aside to the demon girl in my head "is there anything you know of that could help me?"
I'm just going to wander around and find stuff. Looking for any permanent solution to strength deprivation

M Half-Elf Wizard-1/Ranger-4

"I'm more curious about the other missing people." Daechir approaches one of the guards. "Where is everyone? Did something happen?"

Meanwhile, Archer does the dance of his people on my head. Except filled with anger and hate. So much anger.

Liberty's Edge

Female Human Rogue Poisoner 1/Life Oracle 4

Aeryn waits for Daechir, not wanting to run off without someone else. Plus, it does interest what happened to most of the people. It would be rather irksome if the cleric had run off without making good on his promise toward them.

Male Kitsune Bard 5

So perfect that my character immediately moves on to what helps him while you both find out what has gone wrong.

Perception check, taking 10 for 18
While walking with Daechir, Aeryn takes the time to glance at her surroundings.

Male Kitsune Bard 5

Lorne will do the same.
Perception: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (16) + 10 = 26

male Dwarf 5

"Who needs help" Iglaf says to the group that he came here with. (its easier than saying your names) "If not im gona walk with Lorne, i dont really need anything."

Male Kitsune Bard 5

"Iglaf I wouldn't mind the company, Pharasma knows I'm not the strongest bugger in the batch" *Laughs*

male Dwarf 5

"Ok Lorne, i'll stick with you then."
