Sybil lets out a frustrated sight at Irnk's comment.

"As much as this warhammer will give me. Are you still convinced that we should go forward?"

Male Goblin Paladin 2 HP 20/22, +3 Init, AC 18/ 14t/ 15ff, F +6 R +5 W +4, Per -1, 60' Darkvision

In reply, Irnk quickly advances upon the closest skeleton, smashing it before it has a chance to rise.

Flail attack: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (18) + 3 = 21, Flail damage: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 1 = 9 Bludgeoning.

Pausing only long enough to catch his breath, quickly followed by obviously blistering invective even in Goblin, Irnk allows the inertia of his prior attack to pull him along, hurtling behind the flail as it smashes into another skeleton.

Flail attack: 1d20 + 3 + 1 ⇒ (13) + 3 + 1 = 17, Flail damage: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 1 = 9 Bludgeoning.
Technically, I think it is still flatfooted, but I could be wrong.

Without pausing for anything Irnk smashes the other skeleton too.
The bones sink and lie in the bottom of the pool.
I will handwave a little here...
You go into the last tunnel, into the end of the cavern. There you find the Skeleton that dropped Irnk, sitting in an oriental way in front of an ornate chest.
At seeing you enter he stands up in a jump, puts a hand on his sword, and with the other uses a bony finger to point at Irnk.
Another Initiative roll, now for the final showdown!

Galford sighs as his still damp feathers chill slightly even as Sybil and Irnk holds a brief discussion before the goblin springs into action and smashes two skeletons into minute bones before continuing.

Then the meetng of a truly fascinating skeleton who seems to have being mediating....

Will Galford attack the Skeleton? Will he let it attack Irnk? Will he delay?

Female Sylph Wizard 2

Apex continues, her steps still determined and eerily focused, and moves to cast a spell on the two skeletons. When Irnk dispatches them before she can, she simply shrugs and walks away from the scene. When they arrive at the meditating skeleton though, she pauses, as the memory of the last suddenly floods into her.

The memory of Avan fighting a duel of sorts, and his gratitude at her help. She freezes, her mouth open in shock and her eyes wide. Her staff falls to the floor and she stands there, motionless.

Only Sybil missing.

As soon as Sybil spots the skeleton in armor, she enters a guarded stance, trying to stay behind Irnk for now.

"Irnk, be carefull, do not be wreckless. Let us help you and surround the thing!"

Bringing his flail up in guard, just too late to prevent the skeleton's attack, Irnk's own blow skirls off the creature's armor.

Flail attack: 1d20 + 3 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 3 + 2 + 1 = 14...
Well, assuming I can hit him before he drops me again, he has no DR against my attacks.
Of course, that is turning into something of a big assumption.

If Galford moves quickly to flank (he had higher initiative) Irnk attack would hit!
But Galford would attract an AoO...

Sybil's eyes open wide when she sees the sword make a large gash on the goblin's chest. Yet, with quick reflexes, she pulls out a wand from her backpack and uses it to try and heal the paladin.

Swinging his blade directly infront of the skeleton, the nimble tengu attempts to use a technique described to him by his brother, Sandru Vhiski.

Using the flat of the blade to obsure the vision of his opponent, the user is able to step swiftly to the side to and avoid any other attacks and out maneuver his oppoenent. The move was called 'ghost steping'

Thanking his brother for the countless hours drilled into him, Galford executes his move and ends it with a reverse swing but he feels a slight twinge in his arms indicating that he's made a mistake in timing.......

Burn, creature. Burn, and leave this place.

Galfords attacks sends almost as many bones flaying as Irnk's, as it seems the Tengu has learned to use his blades to full effect against the bony undead enemies.
Sybil uses her wand tp fully heal Irnk!
Apex, as Irnk and Galford are flanking the skeleton, I don't see a way you could use burning hands without hitting them. But remember, Goblins are Fire Proof! ;) Please tell me if you want the action to stay (hitting your allies) or do you change it.

Apex was going to move adjacent so that the first square of the cone was between Irnk and Galford, and on the skeleton. Somehow, I typed out how she would cast as such to avoid an AoO, but in my mind pictured as her moving adjacent. My bad. For now, her panicked action as Irnk goes down...

Apex's staff hits the skeleton, and carries on past the monster. She then makes a small motion with her fingers, and it comes straight back to her, smashing into the skeleton once more.

Apex stands over the dying form of the Goblin paladin, while trying, without success, to hit it with her staff. The skeleton shifts to let the weak staff hit miss him.
The skeleton hiss and raises it's blade to decapitate Apex too. She sees all her life in front of her, ending with Avan's face in front of hers, smiling, while looking at her blue eyes. They will meet again soon.
But it distracts the skeleton enough so that Galford, which has learned to use his blade to maximum effect against this kind of undead, rips the skeleton's bones apart in a shower of splinters.
The skull lands next to Irnk's head. You could almost say it is smiling, satisfied.
Combat over! Congratulations, you have reached level 2!

Sybil's will barely wavers as she sees Irnk thrown to the ground. Not because it is Irnk, but because she knowns that her allies need her. Emotions in check, she calmly makes sure that the skeleton is busy with Galford before deciding on her next action.

Heal Irnk... without him we are lost, without him, Apex and Galford will suffer more... without him, one less good soul in the world... she reluctantly finishes.

Kneeling, the dwarf is careful to avoid any incoming attacks, she applies a strange goo to the goblin's jugular and enchants it will healing power using her wand.

Unimpressed by Irnk's preditable reaction, Sybil rolls her eyes in his back, stands too and takes a look around making sure that there are no more dangers. She also quickly checks on Apex and Dao to make sure that they are not too shaken.

Sybil, is there anything there that can tell us why the skeletons attacked, or where they came from?

I'll have Apex leveled up today. It's going to be a slow day at work.

Female Sylph Wizard 2

So....

Sybil shakes her head.
"I do not ot know why they would attack us nor why they were so eager to protect this things. However, we will learn soon enough. Once we get to Sandpoint, we can ask miss kaijitsu to read the writings on this chest. I will also try to open it once we arrive at the rusty dragon."

She stops for a moment and her features seem to sink a little.
"More importantly, we need to provide a proper burial for our friend"

sorry apex did not notice that you had posted. Also, while we are waiting, let's give some incentive to our gm by rping the trip home!

"Lief said how, sometimes, in the North, if a Warrior's grave goods were disturbed, it could call them up to extract vengeance upon whoever took them." Irnk pipes up. At Sybil's mention of proper burial for Avan, he nods vigorously in agreement before examining what materials were available for a makeshift travois.

Sybil stares at the chest and stands still for a moment.

True, these were people. People with honour protecting they belongings... but why so strongly... is it dangerous, should we know what is inside to protect Sandpoint... I... I guess I will ask. Who is honourable here... miss Stormshard, maybe ... Dao... meh, . Irnk, yes... bah!

The dwarf sights before continuing.

"Irnk, do you really think we should take this chest with us? Shouldn't their belonging be left in their tomb?" she looks at him, not knowing what to expect.
