first two done...still waiting for some to check in I think

Sarosha:

It wasn’t long after the whole incident with your shadow occurred. You were wondering about the key, when a male voice comes from out of the shadows nearby.

You seem lost; perhaps I could be of assistance. Perhaps I could have answers to your questions as well

The man is apparently half elf; he is dressed in dark clothing, and is armed only with what appears to be a cutlass or scimitar. He has odor of sea salt about him. What is a sailor doing here, and why would he be offering you advice?

You notice a tattoo on his hand, or could it possibly be a brand; the letter “P” the mark of a Pirate.

You are a hard person to find; In fact you seemed to be non-existent until you popped into our world. So tell me, are you still in possession of a Silver key? Would you like to know more about it?

His voice and demeanor seems confident, like he has no fear of you but he does respect your skill.

Balic Giantsmasher:

You sit enjoying your ale, and pondering the key. Suddenly your nose catches the scent of salt, like the ocean. Looking around you see a man approaching you. He is definitely half-elven the only weapon he wields is a cutlass. The basket hilt beautifully engraved with the image of a sailing ship. He has a patch over his left eye, and is clad in sailor’s attire; obviously not just a common sailor but one that holds a position of authority.

You notice a mark on his hand, a branding no doubt, the letter “P” the mark of a Pirate.

mind if I join you? I have been looking for you for some time, finally we can meet.

Before you can answer he takes a seat opposite of you. He motions for some rum. That key you hold. Care to share how you came upon it? I may have information about it you seek.

He takes swig of the rum bottle brought to him.

you share your tale, and then I will share mine. And then you will know what fate has handed you in the form of a silver key.

He could be an Overseer or a manifestation of the Master. But if so I would already be captured and on my way back.

She considers her response carefully.

I do not have a silver key. But I know where one is. What do you know about it? And who are you? And how do you know me? Are you with the Master?

So many questions. And the one left unasked...what does he want with me?

next two...

Devana Ravendawn:

Devana exits the Academy grounds. She stops to take in a fresh breath of air and starts to ponder her next step. Should she go left? Or should she turn right. But despite what she decides, her thoughts are broken by the sound of a man’s voice calling her name.

Devana? Or do you prefer, “Snow Queen” allow me to introduce myself, I am Captain Adrian Lores, and I have been sent to seek you out and present you with an offer. That is of course if you still possess the key to the offer. the man is dressed in the attire of a sailor, obviously of some rank or position, though he has no insignia of any navy.

The man is definitely half-elven and has a patch over his left eye. A cutlass hangs at his hip the basket hilt beautifully engraved with the image of a schooner. His left hand bears the brand of the letter “P”.
So, tell me then, do you have in your possession a silver key?

Abedezar Mavashti:

Abedezar was plying his trade providing Harrow readings to a young couple apparently about to be wed, totally oblivious to his other and shadier dealings. He tells them what they want to hear and takes their coin. As they leave another man approaches.

He smells of the ocean. The half elven man is dressed the sailor, perhaps a captain. A cutlass hangs at his hip, the brand of the letter “P” upon his left hand. A hooded cloak adorns his shoulders the hood drawn up covering his face.

Tell me sir, do you receive readings as well as giving? he asks as he takes a seat

The man places a Harrow deck upon the table then places a pouch filled with coin next to it.

I give you the choice Mr Abedezar Mavashti, take the coin and give me my reading or cut the deck and receive yours. the man removes his hood revealing his weather hardened face a patch covers hi left eye.

This is an intriguing, if somewhat strange approach, but a bad moment! She runs her fingers through her hair and wishes she had taken the time wash and change before she came to the academy. She didn't really want to see her old apartment again, but she would not surrender her dresses.

As her mentions the silver key her fingers reach for her breast bone at which she can feel it but takes her hand quickly down again and fights for a half decent constitution, despite the conduct.

"I... As a matter of fact..." How does he know all this? But given that he obviously knew a lot more than he should she would better not lie. "Yes, as a matter of fact, I do have such a key." Found less than one bell ago. "Though I am curious how you could have possibly known about it... Captain. But would you please elaborate on the offer you have to make?" This is a bad location to discuss business, but she wanted to hear at least a bit more first. If he is a captain he'd likely invite her to his ship soon anyway.

She slaps a little closer and tries in vain to smooth her messed up clothes.

yayy finally the final two intros...I will start compiling the replies.

Fingers Mitchell:

It’s been a few days since you have found the silver key; you still haven’t gotten around to melting it down either. There is just something about it that intrigues you.

Also for the past day and a half you keep having the feeling you are being followed or possibly watched, though you never seem to find anyone; that feeling is always there.

Another two days pass and you have been staying at a small inn at a way station along a seldom used trade road. This placed seems safe, not a lot of law enforcement, yet when a merchant does come through they are usually of the wealthy sort.

You are on your way to the common room in the morning when that sensation hits you again. This time you think you can finally put a face to it.

The common room is empty save one other person, a half elven man with a patch on his left eye. He smells of the sea, and looks the same. His face and hands weathered and used to hard day’s work. A cutlass hangs at his hip. Its basket hilt beautifully engraved with an image of a sailing ship.

He is enjoying a meal, a brand of the letter “P” clearly evident on his left hand.

When you come into the room he stops and glances toward you Good morning. Would you care to join me? he asks politely. His voice more educated than one would expect of a simple sailor, this one must hold a position of authority.

Rickard Raven:

It’s been a week since you were given the silver key, and you started to no longer remember having it. But the journey to find what the key was supposed to open has been exciting.

You soon found your way to a small port town by the name of Haanex, the population barely over one hundred. The most notable feature of the town is a tower that could have only been built by one of two kinds of people, either a mad man, or a genius.

As you wander the town taking in the sights, you stumble toward the docks. A ship has just docked and you arrive as the gangplank slips into place.

A well-dressed man in a flowing dark blue cloak is the first to disembark, as you get a closer look you notice the man is half-elven, a patch covers his left eye. He is obviously a man that has spent his life aboard a ship.

A cutlass hangs on his hip, its basket hilt engraved with a picture of a ship not too different from the one he has sailed in on. He stands conversing with the harbormaster but you catch sight of him glancing in your direction.

The man turns and walks toward you. You there, he calls to you trying to get your attention. A word with you if you please.

As he comes closer you see the brand of the letter ”P” upon his left hand. I don’t suppose you would be a Mr. Rickard Raven?

Rickard I believe I actually have a picture of the tower once I find it I'll post the link

That uncomfortable feeling was back. Ever sine he grabbed that silver key, he couldn't shake the feeling. Even here, along the road, in the middle of nowhere, the feeling was back.

Coming downstairs to the dusty inn's common room, he caught himself looking over his shoulder again. Fingers cursed under his breath, "Chasing shadows again. There's no one there."

But when he came down into the nearly empty room and sees the one-eyed stranger, he got the sensation that this was it. There was something about this man that made Fingers uncomfortable, like there was more to him than meets the eye.

Surprised when the man address him, and more surprised at his educated and crisp words, Fingers starts suddenly. He looks back once more to make sure the sailor is addressing him then cautiously responds. "Not one to mix wit' strangers on the road, sailor. Likely best if we jes' go our separate ways, no harm done, an' no offense meant."

He puts his head down and studies his own hands while trying not to look up at the man at the counter.

Fingers:

there is enough coin in that pouch to last quite a long time, and it could be yours, that is if you are willing to part with that little key.

He pulls out a second bag and sets it on the table.

Of course, I bring a second choice. choose this bag and I tell you what that key will open and guide you to it.

I will tell you this, that key is a part of a set. and all the keys of the set are needed to unlock the door that was sealed many years ago. By the Pirate Lord Paytro NeMoren.

So I give you that choice. the gold and the sell out, or an adventure that could lead to even more gold, or death

As he goes to refill both of their tankards, So what can you tell me about this Captain NeMoren, the key or yerself?

Balic:

don't you worry about who I am, at least not for now. Paytro NeMoren was the last of a long line of Pirate Captains. It is said that despite the fact they were not very ruthless, nor dealt in too many underworld dealings, somehow they managed to amass great wealth. enough to buy thier way onto the Pirate Council. Peytro NeMoren died about three years ago, the entire NeMoren fortune was destined to be plundered by every Pirate from Varisia to Absolom, unless an heir could be found.

My superior discovered who the heir was, the bearers of those Silver keys. So, I was sent to track down the key owners and bring them together to claim the NeMoren family inheritance

He hands Balic a bag that contains a map and a pouch of coin

this map will tell you where to meet, the coin will buy you passage. So you still interested? or can I just buy the key from you.

So are you interested in a little adventure, or perhaps you would rather stay here inside these walls. I would gladly purchase that key from you, enough gold to keep you happy for many years. So I ask this of you, which shall it be, an adventure or the easy way out.

GM:
"So... I am an heir to a pirate captain who died merely three years ago." She halts, arches her head a little and examines the captain closesly.

"I was half expecting you'd try to rob me the key, Captain Lores - After all that's what pirates do for a living, don't they? - but there is no way I am going to surrender it. I think it is meant to open more than a treasure vault and I will find out what - and who my 'kindred' is, the bearers of the other keys you implied." She smiles somewhat defiantly. But the prospect of people she belongs to in some way seems more appealing than she is ready to admit. She doesn't really care about the wealth so much, but she does care about the mystery.

"I shall take you up on your offer. Does your superior belong to the pirate council you mentioned? And what would I need to do to claim Captain NeMoren's heritage? I assume I'll have to travel to said council?" It feels almost like playing a game and even though Devana is ready to engage him with her magic if needed, she lets him lead the way for now, hooked in to his arm. She's curious what his and his superior's stake in this is, but she won't ask - likely there is some kind of treasure and he doesn't just needed the keys, but their bearers as well, for whatever reason...

some things are best left unanswered, we will leave it at that. Now as to the key.

He pulls out a bag containing a map and a small pouch of coin.

in this bag you will find everything you need to know. the coin id to pay for your passage. the map will give you the location. I will meet you there and once everyone that accepted the offer arrives the rest of the information will be provided.

do you accept the offer?

the best you can tell he probably discovered the key using some sort of powerful divination magic, He probably has pretty powerful allies.

"Right now, I've got no prospects. If there is reward at the end of this door then reckon I'd give it a try. Never been afraid of risking my life for the right reward, might as well try it again."

He slides the bag with the map and coin and peruses the map briefly.

"So where is that I'm headed?"

the grip is firm and comparable to Balic's own grip.

after the man says to him before leaving I will see you at the masor House identified on the map

the man then leaves.

later once you have the chance to examine everything there is a pouch of coin that should cover your journey expenses and the location, the map indicates a small island just to the west of Widowmaker Isle in the Shackles. It is labeled "Nemoren's Isle"

there is identified a small fishing village on the island as the only inhabitants.

Balic you can come up with your own story for the journey. You will arrive about a half day after Sarosha.

both of you will meet at the manor house at the top of a hill just outside the small village. You will be staying there and all meals are provided, you are advised to not leave the house.

for those that decided to head to the manor and got the map:

NeMoren's island, A small island boasting only a small fishing village known as Weston, and on the other side near a beach cave, a small band of lizardfolk.

the village itself looks somewhat abandon. several homes look unoccupied and a few businesses look shut down.

when you arrive the villagers all give fearful looks.

as you leave the pier an elderly woman approaches. Find the bride and lift the curse. That is why your here isn't it?

the old woman looks at you with hope and expectation that you are here to save them.

the Manor is just outside of town up a small hill. when you arrive there are a few servants to assist your stay but it is obvious that they are only temporary. probably under the employ of your half-elven friend that brought you here.

when you inquire about him they merely inform you that he is out gathering the remainder of the key holders but they do not know how many more there are.

"I am looking forward to it, Captain Lores." she returns in her usuaul cool tone.

For a moment Devana looks after the captain as he leaves. 'Well, that flirting attempt went seriously backwards. But why am I surprised? Guess there is a reason why my friends called me Snow Queen.'

Devana walks home and even though she is anxious to leave Egorian she takes her time washing and picking her favourite dress. 'Getting far away is better than the foreign quarter, I suppose. Strange, though. I am quite literally given a choice between the devil and the deep blue sea. No choice at all, actually. The sea of course!' Picking essential things she would need and buying some others that might come in handy on the travel she finally arrives in the harbour and asks around for a ship.

When she finds one, the sails are set and it floats down the river towards the sea, she doesn't know what to think. Only hours after the sun is set she feels the relief from getting out of the devil's invisible grasp and breathes a lot lighter.

And when finally Westcrown is passed and Cheliax is left behind she actually finds herself smiling, standing in the bow and looking in expectation and curiosity out about the mystery of Captain NeMoren, his keys and their bearers at the sea, while her magical lights help the sailors illuminate the decks.

As the old woman approaches Fingers, saying some nonsense about a cursed bride, he growls at her: "I'm only here to open some door, and get the loot that's behind, sister. Your curses and brides will have to wait until a group of real heroes comes around. This fella's just in it for the job and the coin." He smirks at the old woman before going up to the house, noticing the poor state of the village as he passes through.

"House doesn't look much better. Hope there's someone available at home." he muses, waiting on the porch after ringing the bell and rapping on the outer door.

The servants attend to Fingers' immediate needs, and he settles down munching on some warm dinner, awaiting the arrival of any other "key-holders", whatever that means.
