The Akorian manse is quite stationary.

Male Human

Or so it wants us to believe...

Akorian left town ddn't he?

Cookie Jar Pilferer 9 ; Dimensional Explorer 4

Yes, quite suddenly. Family business. You can try anyway.

Castor, did Raven perform under his own name or a similarly clever alias?

And once again Dabbler and Wellard surprise me. Alias Smith and Jones was no landmark of American culture, but somehow they know about it. Unbelievable.

Male Human

Considering what the group has been up to, not to mention Raven's own not-quite-so-lawful vocation, I think an alias would be the way to go. Off the top of my head, perhaps something like Ramiel Naevandis...

...and "Alas, Smith & Jones" featured comedy duo Mel Smith and Gryf Rhys-Jones...but yes, the other SMith & Jones did indeed get aired in the UK, way back in the 70's, to which both of us can trace our childhoods (and beyond).

Cookie Jar Pilferer 9 ; Dimensional Explorer 4

Ramiel Naevandis. You do have a knack for names.

****

Alas, Smith & Jones. ~chuckle~ Worth looking up? Alias isn't.

If you like very dry ironic British Humour..then give Griff and Mel a try you should find most off it on you tube..

Hey I liked Alias S&J..but then I also liked Bonanza and the Virginian.however my favourite American 60's series was COMBAT!!! with Vic Morrow.

Cookie Jar Pilferer 9 ; Dimensional Explorer 4

Bonanza was pretty classic. Didn't see The Virginian much. Nor Combat!

I will have a look for Alas then.

This IS the internet you know ... Alegedly human Expert (IT) 5/Ninja 3/Witch 7

Alias wasn't, but then it aired in a day when in the UK we had three TV channels (count them) and my age was still in single digits, so it was kind of a captive audience.

Edit: You know, thinking about it, it's amazing that with so little competition British TV produced so much good stuff back then. I think it's a testament to the BBC's commitment to quality back then.

Male Human

I will be out of town for the next few days, guys. Please DMPC Raven as needed until I get back. :-)

Cookie Jar Pilferer 9 ; Dimensional Explorer 4

So while Waif and Marius roam the town, meeting fun NPCs, lining up new gear, and generally enjoying the metropolis, everyone else is going to huddle in the safehouse?

This IS the internet you know ... Alegedly human Expert (IT) 5/Ninja 3/Witch 7

Marius can bring them back beer and hookers :p

Zarabeta did some Gather Information-ing, but I've slept since then, so I'll have to go look it up after work to remind myself.

Your post awaits.

I will be away from my PC from tomorrow(Tuesday) until Friday Evening

Cookie Jar Pilferer 9 ; Dimensional Explorer 4

Leaving for vacation weekend. see you Monday.

Male Human

Going for a bit of R 'n' R out of town. Should be back in a couple of days or three. Please DMPC Raven so as not to hold up the game until my return. :-)

Cookie Jar Pilferer 9 ; Dimensional Explorer 4

hogarth, thanks for Felmo's name. I had no idea what he was like until he had a name.

Glad you liked it.

Ha, had to edit Zarabeta's reaction to the sake, since the last time I had it, it was mixed with soy sauce, and all I remember is it being black, strong and salty!

I don't think I've ever had sake normally!

Cookie Jar Pilferer 9 ; Dimensional Explorer 4

Nice, Set.

Cookie Jar Pilferer 9 ; Dimensional Explorer 4

Funny you should mention the "store credit", Set. You guys haven't taken advantage of it much at all. No one has been back to Fair Jerrick's to buy or sell anything for a long time, not even Raven. I seem to remember there was a small premium to be gained by selling there for store credit.

By the way, maybe we should rename Zara Martha. She seems to be doing all the the party's chores.

Hasn't been much call for mundane gear, that I've seen. If we get some gold, at some point, Zarabeta's totally going to get an amulet of continual flame (something she probably should have had before getting to second level!), and maybe a headband of intellect or lesser metamagic rod of extend or, heaven's forfend, an item raises her Armor Class above 'naked chick with a +2 Dex bonus.' :)

Ooh, hope she doesn't notice. She'd go ballistic!

This is true...we could do with a few more items to help us out here and there. Actually though I am enjoying NOT having the Christmas Tree Effect in operation all the time, though. We could do with some gear, but not massive amounts. Let's see what we can turn up and trade in...

Cookie Jar Pilferer 9 ; Dimensional Explorer 4

Work will be a killer this week. Will post as I am able. Don't expect much. Oh, and vacation next weekend!

Cookie Jar Pilferer 9 ; Dimensional Explorer 4

Sorry guys. On the road working. I probably won't have time until Saturday.

I'll be on vacation until Sep. 16, so I probably won't have much chance to post until then.

Cookie Jar Pilferer 9 ; Dimensional Explorer 4

AWOL again. The usual sources. (On the plus side how many people get to hang out inside the combustion chamber of a big gas turbine engine.) I am sorry . Should be posting tonight.

Cookie Jar Pilferer 9 ; Dimensional Explorer 4

Haste. Why'd it have to be haste?

This IS the internet you know ... Alegedly human Expert (IT) 5/Ninja 3/Witch 7

Best.
Buff.
Ever.

But I would have preferred a "Look out behind you!"

Cookie Jar Pilferer 9 ; Dimensional Explorer 4

Work is killing me this week. Probably Monday before I return to daily posting. As always Apologies for the delay.

Deal with the stuff that puts food on the table first, as always!

Cookie Jar Pilferer 9 ; Dimensional Explorer 4

Back. I took a little time because I wanted to get this monster right.

This IS the internet you know ... Alegedly human Expert (IT) 5/Ninja 3/Witch 7

It's nasty! For the record, if anyone sees a monster creeping up on Waifrin again - PLEASE SHOUT A WARNING!

Cookie Jar Pilferer 9 ; Dimensional Explorer 4

Hogarth, maybe you got that post up first and it was the "disappearing first post on a new page bug".

Dabbler, thank you for that endorsement.

I'll second the sentiment that warning your friends about creepy crawlies behind them is very good form.

Cookie Jar Pilferer 9 ; Dimensional Explorer 4

Got a message out for Wellard to post Marius for this round. If he doesn't turn up by tomorrow evening EDT I'll post for him.

Cookie Jar Pilferer 9 ; Dimensional Explorer 4

There you have it. First monster, I've built from scratch in a long time. Shadow ooze.

Dabbler that's strength damage, not drain. I was kind of surprised that Waif didn't try to run away.

The shadow man was a caster. Unfortunately, due to overconfidence and stupid tactics, he didn't get a chance to cast anything. Waif's opening volley was brutal.

Some dude

Funky new thread / dot / focus behavior is making it more challenging than before to find threads, so feel free to send me a private message if I lag at some point.

I wasn't clear if the shadow was a monster or a manifestation of something (if we were *literally* 'shooting magic missiles at the darkness'). We need to find out more about these shadow men, behind the shadow garms. Due to the drawn out nature of PBP combat, I'd forgotten he existed by the time we were snatching up the garm's body for the reward...

Cookie Jar Pilferer 9 ; Dimensional Explorer 4

Funky new thread / dot / focus behavior has just been general weirdness at my end. The Paizo servers have been up and down. I can not get to my campaign page. My work around is to pull up each alias and go to the last post. Very slow and frustrating.

Actual in game posting will suffer til Teter and company sort this out.

Dark Archive

Some dude

I usually just went to Online Campaigns and hit Focus and could see all of the PBP games *and* PBP discussions (and Recruitment) threads that I'd had dotted / read recently, allowing me to keep track of it all in one go.

The current behavior (for me, anyway) is that I get a blank page when I do that, and have to check the PBP and PBP Discussion sub-forums individually before Focus will show anything. (And, even then, the new post numbers never change, or do so inconsistently, so that I end up checking a discussion thread that says (2 new) to find out that they are posts I've already read, or even made myself!)

It is a nuisance.

I got spoiled being able to check all the games and discussions at the same time (and being able to tell which ones had new posts).

Do you have any of the Online Campaigns subforums hidden/minimized?

If you click on the actual thread link (not just the "(x new)" link), it'll reset the number of new posts. I'm not sure if that's the intended behaviour, though.

Oh, that works! Thanks for that tip, I don't have to see the same (X new) posts every time!

Cookie Jar Pilferer 9 ; Dimensional Explorer 4

Set, have a look at the Void thread please.

Male Human

Guys, it is with a heavy heart that I tell you that I will have to be bowing out of the game. You have been a great group of guys, the players as well as our illustrious DM, but I am finding myself not feeling all that interested in my character lately and putting too much effort in playing him. And it has resulted in my holding up the game, which is certainly not at all fair to you.

I am indeed sorry and I do feel a bit guilty to be doing this, since this has been my first PbP and I have been playing it for quite a few years.

I hope there are no hard feelings. :-(

Cookie Jar Pilferer 9 ; Dimensional Explorer 4

F. Castor, I am sorry to hear that. There are of course no hard feelings on my part. I have enjoyed playing with you and you'll certainly be welcome back at the table should you wish to return.

Dark Archive

Some dude

I was kinda hoping we'd last long enough to see Raven cross over into Shadowdancer and summon that shadow-self we talked about so long ago, but that would still be three long levels away, so probably not soon in any event.

Sorry to see you go!

Cookie Jar Pilferer 9 ; Dimensional Explorer 4

Which leads to the inevitable question, recruit or carry on?

Cookie Jar Pilferer 9 ; Dimensional Explorer 4

Quick reminder on my spoiler policy, since I'm using a lot of them for these individual side trips. I'm doing it for a small degree of privacy and personalization. If I seriously want people to keep out, I will append the word "only" to the spoiler title thusly, Character name only

Likewise if you want guaranteed privacy from each other.

There is no privacy from the DM in the campaign threads. Even if you requested it, I couldn't help myself and would read the spoilers.

If you are dead set on privacy the PM system is an option of last resort, but I would rather the table remain relatively open.
