Hey GM I rolled my initiative on the previous page, It was a 20, then I posted my action for my initiative, also rolling a 20 for my first shot and confirming crit with a 19. So you need to change that initiative roll. Also I gave Dusan 5 crossbow bolts a couple of intersections ago.
I missed the roll and bolts..so with that it changes the initiative order.
Rolande fires (before Cela and Buchart moved up)...and kills one (grit point back) and wounds the other for 4
"I have seven bolts - praise the Gods...six more until all is lost!"
Cela joins Buchart hoping to get sprayed with molten gold when it explodes...but keeps her lioness back (although another can be summoned if it dies) because she doesn't want it injured...
Anaba is up!
Golden Skeleton -6
Rolande
Fernleaf
Sekkimm
Buchart
Dusan
Cela
GM Pablo |
Anaba shoots the remaining golden skeleton and it explodes ho gold in a 10' area.
Molten Gold: 1d6 ⇒ 3 on Cela and Buchart DC11 Reflex save if you make it 1 point
Out of combat
Dusan records in his journal. "The elf, they call Rolande, with the normally loud hand cannon has given me 5 more bolts, seven left. We defeated more Golden undead. I am sure they are toying with us and luring us in to steal our souls and eat our brains. The Elf dances about like a jester and should not worry about the latter. He is giving away free bolts!"
GM Pablo |
You have been inside for 1.5 hours, 61 1/2 hours before gold floods the city. Rolande's silent oil just wore off. You are not fatigued and can press on if you wish.
"Five more bolts! Do you have an endless quiver or keep pixies in your pants that manufacture these wonderful bolts!" he takes the bols with gratitude. "Twelve bots - a full dozen, we shall slay some foes before we all die!"
Fernleaf Ivy |
Onward Ho! Dusan has 12 bolts! And Rolands has quivering pixies in his pants! We are good to go. Tanks to the front and let's continue to follow the trail. Any evidence of any more dead maskers? Recent combat? Seems like we are getting through these nuisances pretty quickly. We have to be catching up to them.
Pablo, might want to roll Cela's reflex check and future actions. She is working until late afternoon and I will not be able to devote much brainpower to her today. Thanks!
And just for fun:
Perception: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (17) + 9 = 26
GM Pablo |
Cela Reflex check: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (7) + 3 = 10 She takes 3 points
Buchart still needs to Roll.
Cela -3
Buchart -3 or -1
No evidence of any other dead masks...looks like they weeded out the weak ones on the island!
You continue following the trail through the ruins North. The trail turns East back to the main Ring road past the intersection with the runes. You continue following the trail North and reach another bridge crossing the molten Gold below.
There is nothing on the bridge . Cross?
GMPablo |
The map will look like the first bridge you crossed, but there is no construct there. You see this bridge is also not covered in gold and Buchart detects similar protection magics. There is however no runes like the intersections. It looks clear.
Do you want to cure the -3 on Buchart and Cela?

I think we will want to keep an eye out for the Raz-meanies from here forward. If they got a feeling they are being followed, they might lay in wait to ambush us. What do the tracks tell you Anaba? Can you tell if they are still moving with great haste?
Is the gold in the channels getting closer to the bottoms of the bridges?
GM Pablo |
Anaba can tell you are closing in. If you don't stop to rest looking at the map you could catch them in an hour or two. An hour if there are no impediments to your travel. You are a little more than 1/2 way to the center already. See Xin-Grafar map to see your progress (red line).
Go ahead and cross?
Anaba |
Since we are so close, I'd say be on your guard! I will take the lead. Can someone cast enlarge on me just in case we meet anyone on the way? I want to be prepared. I am also going to cast lead blades on myself.
GM Pablo |
Anaba enlarges and casts lead blades, just to be cautious.
GM Stuff: 1d20 + 22 ⇒ (18) + 22 = 40
Anaba Perception: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6
Buchart Perception: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (6) + 4 = 10
Cela Perception: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (2) + 10 = 12
Fernleaf Perception: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (20) + 7 = 27
Rolande Perception: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (7) + 10 = 17
Sekkimm Perception: 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (8) + 0 = 8
GM Stuff: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (13) + 7 = 20
Anaba starts shrinking back to normal size. You see nothing however that would cause the effect, but something or someone has dispelled the Enlarge.
Fernleaf Ivy |
I wonder if the gold spokes are causing this (Map is marked differently here). If Anaba moves back where she was, does she get big again? Can we do any magical effects or spells once we are off the bridge? On the bridge? Cantrips? Or try to cast a buff on / off the bridge.
Can we detect magic? Can we detect invisible? What is range of Dispel Magic? I am going to take out my bag of flour, just in case we need to low-tech detect invisibility. Do we have Detect Invisibility?
Not knowing what else to do, I will try to get off the bridge and hide.
GM Pablo |
I just painted the floor Gold to indicate that the bridge is gold free.
There are no "spikes" just the arches over the bridge on each side.
Fernleaf double moves acress the bridge (next round you get the flour out.
Actions?
Anaba
Buchart
Cela & Fahari - waits to see if Anaba moves will move with her.
Rolande
Sekkimm
Dusan - looks about Perception: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (19) + 14 = 33, but does not see anything

There is a stone railing 3' high and 5' wide. If you are moving move (either single or double move)
Can you give us something to see beyond the bridge? Likely hiding places, etc? Move to end of bridge and cast Detect Magic then scan the area beyond the bridge and behind!
Either this place has a warding or we're being watched!
GM Pablo |
The large road continues 140' ahead there is an intersection which you could turn off off there is also ruins ahead on the left with numerous hiding places. to the right the road drops down to the next tier and you are 50' above that level. Buchart did you move a little up i think on the map now, done?
KN Spellcraft or Arcana and I can tell you about Dispel Magic.
Sekkimm is up
GM Pablo |
Dispel Magic
School abjuration; Level bard 3, cleric 3, druid 4, paladin 3, sorcerer/wizard 3
Casting Time 1 standard action
Components V, S
Range medium (100 ft. + 10 ft./level)
Target or Area one spellcaster, creature, or object
Duration instantaneous
Saving Throw none; Spell Resistance no
You can use dispel magic to end one ongoing spell that has been cast on a creature or object, to temporarily suppress the magical abilities of a magic item, or to counter another spellcaster's spell. A dispelled spell ends as if its duration had expired. Some spells, as detailed in their descriptions, can't be defeated by dispel magic. Dispel magic can dispel (but not counter) spell-like effects just as it does spells. The effect of a spell with an instantaneous duration can't be dispelled, because the magical effect is already over before the dispel magic can take effect.
You choose to use dispel magic in one of two ways: a targeted dispel or a counterspell.
Targeted Dispel: One object, creature, or spell is the target of the dispel magic spell. You make one dispel check (1d20 + your caster level) and compare that to the spell with highest caster level (DC = 11 + the spell's caster level). If successful, that spell ends. If not, compare the same result to the spell with the next highest caster level. Repeat this process until you have dispelled one spell affecting the target, or you have failed to dispel every spell.
For example, a 7th-level caster casts dispel magic, targeting a creature affected by stoneskin (caster level 12th) and fly (caster level 6th). The caster level check results in a 19. This check is not high enough to end the stoneskin (which would have required a 23 or higher), but it is high enough to end the fly (which only required a 17). Had the dispel check resulted in a 23 or higher, the stoneskin would have been dispelled, leaving the fly intact. Had the dispel check been a 16 or less, no spells would have been affected.
You can also use a targeted dispel to specifically end one spell affecting the target or one spell affecting an area (such as a wall of fire). You must name the specific spell effect to be targeted in this way. If your caster level check is equal to or higher than the DC of that spell, it ends. No other spells or effects on the target are dispelled if your check is not high enough to end the targeted effect.
If you target an object or creature that is the effect of an ongoing spell (such as a monster summoned by summon monster), you make a dispel check to end the spell that conjured the object or creature.
If the object that you target is a magic item, you make a dispel check against the item's caster level (DC = 11 + the item's caster level). If you succeed, all the item's magical properties are suppressed for 1d4 rounds, after which the item recovers its magical properties. A suppressed item becomes nonmagical for the duration of the effect. An interdimensional opening (such as a bag of holding) is temporarily closed. A magic item's physical properties are unchanged: A suppressed magic sword is still a sword (a masterwork sword, in fact). Artifacts and deities are unaffected by mortal magic such as this.
You automatically succeed on your dispel check against any spell that you cast yourself.
Counterspell: When dispel magic is used in this way, the spell targets a spellcaster and is cast as a counterspell. Unlike a true counterspell, however, dispel magic may not work; you must make a dispel check to counter the other spellcaster's spell.
