Reginar meets you in the morning following the destruction of the Temple. "I hope you don't mind, but I have been asking around about Iramine for you. I have some good news and bad news...First the bad news. The note you found in her chamber indicated she intends to go to the Isle of Terror. The Isle of Terror is located in the middle of Lake Encarthan. She plans to open, Xin-Grafar — the city of Golden Death — is the fabled vault-city of the Whispering Tyrant Tar-Baphon. Legend to hold more wealth than all of Avistan combined, the treasure-city has been sought after by adventurers and explorers for centuries. I want to warn you to never to let your guard down while you are there. There are great, island-encompassing, negative energy storms that periodically wrack the middle of Lake Encarthan for months at a time and warped wildlife, twisted terrain features, and poisonous streams. Many Pathfinders have explored the Isle of Terror but very few have returned...Those who have are often changed by their experience and speak only of dark things that hunted them in the night and bolts of pure negative energy that hounded their every waking moment."

"With that said now the good news, I believe you are familiar with Captain Walren and the Black Mist. As luck would have it, he docked just yesterday. I was able to see him last night and inquired about the evil priestess who absconded with the amulet. It seems he was just in Druma to the east and she was there as well. She has been spending time outfitting an expedition, gathering the Razmiri faithful, at least 20 and possibly as many as 25 cultists. She has also hired a flat-bottomed riverboat out of Druma called the Witch’s Stitches that could barely hold Iramine, her cultists, their supplies, and the boat’s crew. Captain Walren reports that the Stitches is a slow boat and isn't going to make the Isle of Terror anytime soon, assuming it can make it at all. The captain has agreed to deliver you to the island. He was not eager to go there, but when I told him of the passengers, he figured he owed you a favor, and he is no friend of Razmir. If you leave soon, (today, sorry about the sort notice) and make all haste, the slow pace at which Iramine is headed to the island combined with the speed of the Black Mist should deliver you to the Island no more than 2 to 3 days behind the Razmiri faithful."

"Please gather your supplies quickly. Go to the Isle of Terror aboard the Black Mist, find Iramine, and recover the amulet before she can use it to plunder Xin-Grafar in the name of the Living God. Once you have the amulet seal the city behind you so that no one else can access the city’s treasures. Afterward, return the amulet fragments to the Crypt of the Everflame and finally put Kassen’s spirit to rest."

I shall do this (accepting the quest)!

Now I believe I am 4 HD. 3rd level Magus, 1 st level Brawler! It's time to reach out and touch someone! This took much thought, but I've been burning sunrods for days thinking about it! I also received that only 100% on the midterm in my class! Who knew it only required citing the source text! I named Einhart in my answer about The First Holy Roman Emporer!

Way to go! Jen says congrats too!Let's get our gear and get down to the docks. Ka willing we will soon be in range of that vile elf.

Thanks B! I need somebody to talk me out of the Brawler option. I really like the idea, but considering where we're going, to a place that will probably warp or drain us... I am going to give up the horseshoes, too!

Should we consider stealing a faster boat? Catching them and sinking them?

No one has sailor profession or even navigation. So sailing yourselves to a dangerous area may not be well advised. The Black Mist is the fastest option available - not too many captains are willing to go to the Isle of Terror.

I have ordered armor for Fahari, it will not be available for this adventure but he will be fierce for the next one.. BATTLE CAT!

I will also claim the brooch of shielding if no one objects

You spend the day selling your gear and shopping. Many of the items can be delivered directly to the ship. The captain expects you back at the dock 2 hours before night fall. He is preparing the Black mist for the weeklong journey. Reginar has arranged a month of provisions for the expedition and has paid Captain Walren for the Black Mist's services.

Since you last met, Captain Walren hired an old sea dog who was once the captain of a pirate ship that patrolled the coast of the Sodden Lands. Known proudly as Mabon the Destroyer. the old pirate captain is a bent, elderly man with gray hair, a gray beard, and a patch over a perfectly serviceable eye, who is kitted out in black leather and white lace. He’s a talkative man, happy to tell a dozen stories about his glory days in the Arcadian Ocean, but he’s also one of the best boat pilots on Lake Encarthan and takes his job seriously. He works for Captain Walren because, as he says, “That surly dwarf saved my hide in Daggermark after I bedded the daughter of the city’s Captain of Horse! Had he not set fire to the inn and dragged me drunk and besotted with lust into the muddy streets, I might not be standing here before you today!” The captain acknowledges he will need Mabon's help in the treacherous waters around the Isle of Terror. They plan on delivering you to the abandoned village of Fort Landing. Captain Walren’s intended course is simple: his little barge won’t survive for longer than a day out in the heart of Lake Encarthan — the waves of the notoriously blustery lake would flip or smash his river vessel in short order — so he will stick to the coast along the lake’s southern shore, no more than 1 or 2 miles from shore. When his vessel reaches the Druma border, the Black Mist will turn due North and make a run for the Island. This will be a the most dangerous part of the trip and by far the roughest part of the voyage. Prepare yourselves for and full day of being tossed about and steel your stomachs.

Since we are going on the water I want to pick up 10 Dry Load cartridges @30gp=300gp.

ALL Aboard!! Is everyone ready to travel?

Aye, aye cap'n!

Scarab Sages

Male Human Magus L8/Brawler L1/Bloodrager L1

Buchart shows up at the boat with canvas and burlap wrapped bundles from the shops. It is obvious that he is quite happy! He greets the crew and party with a hardy hello! He has jettisoned his heavy crossbow and longbow for a new bow and can't wait to use it! He reassesses his load and starts to work on his packstaff. Wearing a backpack in combat can be cumbersome so his packstaff will be his drop bundle when entering combat! After dropping bundles and lightening his load he asks Cap'n Walren, "Hey Cap'n, you haven't moved the head have you?" He giggles to himself like a teenage might and makes his way through the gangway into the bowels of the Black Mist.

Ready for the adventure! Fahari isn't happy about more boat We get on board and settle in. I promise Fahari some nice fish along the way. I am feeling quite wise these days which just means I am going to think i am always right. (Nothing new! Just better wisdom stats)

Buchart will have made a trip to the temple of Gorum. He will inform the priests there of this trip we are about to take and to gather any more info he can from them about both the Island and Razmirians just before going to the boat and starting his repacking and reassessing his load...where's the head?

Buchart sees the placard outside the theater hailing performers to audition. He thinks about a life away from all the violence and mayhem. "Perhaps when I retire!?" he thinks..."Naaah! That life would be soooo boring!" Then he daydreams, "Cheese sandwiches are 7.5 gp and beer 8.5 gp on Cap'n Bucky's Chum Bucket! Tens and twentys only...NO CHANGE! But look at all the money he saved!"

Let's get a move on lads! Many nautical miles of sailing ahead of us.

Have any of you seem Sekkimm and Fernleaf? I hope nothing has happened to them.

Everyone makes it to the docks and finds the slip for the Black Mist. There is a flurry of activity as final preparations are underway. Crates of food, fresh water, and your new chests with any gear you have stowed are loaded. Vendors deliver packages from your shopping expeditions.

Captain Walren stops in to speak with you before departure.
"It will be 8 to 9 days of sailing to get to the northernmost point of Druma. We will skirt the shore and stay out of the middle of the lake then a rough sail for a full 24 hours to Fort Landing. Once we reach Fort Landing the Black Mist will wait off shore for 10 days. When you are ready to be retrieved light two fires a good distance apart, so we know it is you. On the morning of the the 11th day we will depart. The Isle of Terror is an evil place and I don't relish the thought of spending one, much less ten nights there. This is the arrangement I negotiated with Reginar, if you are not comfortable with it, let me know before we depart."

Assuming everyone is OK with the travel plan...

Lines are checked and the party boards just before the Harbor Pilot takes the helm. The mooring lines are cast off and the ship pulls away from the dock. Just outside the port the harbor master disembarks on the customs barge. The Black mist heads out on to the lake raising full sail. You can already tell she is faster without the heavy cargo she carried on your prior trip.

Scarab Sages

Male Human Magus L8/Brawler L1/Bloodrager L1

Buchart will also take some time on this journey to learn the ways of these tough seafaring folk! Day one:

Port is left and starboard is right...gotcha! They aren't ropes. On a vessel they are called lines...gotcha! Always leave your lines coiled for easy use and they look so much more ship shape that way! In rough seas, try to stay in the mid-deck rather than grasping for the gunwales...unless grasping the gunwales is what the Cap'n says to do. Ahoy pal-oi!

You look like you stepped out of an ad for a bottle of scotch.

My apologies. Real life and work have kept me away. I am trying to negotiate the vending of some lovely poison but need some cash. It is quite important and any amount would help. Please see Discussion Board post. If possible, I want to find a book about making poison for dummies - possibly from the Thieve's Guild. Just for role-playing purposes - nothing more. Since I've been talking w/ Pablo via text about this long before the boat set out, I am hoping for indulgence on going backwards in time. THIS IS MY FIRST POST ON THIS BOARD. Please and Thank You!

With the exception of above, I am good to go. I will look at this journey as a first step to getting more intelligent so I can make some poisons of my own. I wonder if there is a book I could read to help me be smarter?

I am much more dexterous and more likely to hit (and not be hit) now with my fancy new Belt. I have a nifty bandolier across my chest with variously shaped and colored vials. My backpack is gone and I am lighter of step.

Still 3rd, but you will make 4th before everyone makes 5th! I suspect that everyone could be 5th by the time this module is done.

"I'm just your friendly neighborhood sea hag come to deliver some baked goods whilst dragging someone to the depths of the lake for tea and to show off my Hummel collection." Please Sekkimm and Buchart make a DC 14 Fortitude save.

Here is what you know:
Horrific Appearance (Su) The sight of a sea hag is so revolting that anyone within 60 feet (other than another hag) who sets eyes upon one must succeed on a DC 14 Fortitude save or instantly be weakened, taking 1d6 points of Strength damage. Creatures that are affected by this power or that successfully save against it cannot be affected again by the same hag's horrific appearance for 24 hours. This is a mind-affecting effect. The save DC is Charisma-based.
Monstrous sea witches, these wicked hags possess terrifying features that few dare look upon. Reveling in discord, the foul creatures drag sailors to watery graves and torment the peoples of the oceans with wicked promises. Sea hags are always terrible to look upon, and despite their gluttonous ways, they are usually emaciated creatures who look half-starved. Most stand about 6 feet tall and weigh 150 pounds.

Sea hags prefer to dwell relatively close to shore where fishermen and trading vessels are more commonly encountered. Most choose to live far from urban areas so that their acts don't draw as much attention from would-be enemies, but it's not uncommon for a particularly brave or eager sea hag to settle in a city harbor or in the mouth of a deep river.

Sea hags form covens similar to other hags, but their aquatic nature generally keeps them from forming mixed covens. In the case of a shoreline-dwelling green hag (often a green hag who dwells in a saltmarsh or other coastal swampland), a coven often consists of two sea hags who look to the green hag as their mother and leader. More commonly, a sea hag coven consists of a group of particularly friendly and sisterly sea hags.

Missing extra Adamantine bullets and Dry Loads from my sheet.
