did Aryn open the double doors?

She wrote that she wants to open it, but I wanted to describe what she hears so she can decide if she still wants to open it

Blong stands ready to act upon opening the doors.
"I could distract them with some sound if you like. Maybe even a small fireworks display."

Aryn gives Blong a nod, indicating for him to do a he suggested. She gives herself another casting of guidance, and opens the double doors when the others have also readied themselves.

Eldlen, hearing Blong and Aryn prepare, stops working on the hidden door and cast breeze on himself, grasping his elven blade in his hands prepares to follow them.

I would say Eldlen checked one door but did not open it.

After you prepared Aryn opens the double door. But behind the door is not the army expected. Although formerly full of finery, this large hall has been completely ransacked. Scarlet drapes lie in tatters on the floor, obsidian pedestals are smashed, and shards of red and black clay cover the floor. The southeast corner is the only exception—a large table sits there undisturbed. On the table you see a large, armored flame creature with the head of a bull.

Three torches line the chamber, but they are near the end of their lives, casting only dim light.

Eldlen, relived there was no room full of soldiers takes a quick look around

and then goes back to the previous room and looks at the secret door behind the tapestries to determine if it is trapped or locked

Unless interrupted by combat or some such thing Eldlen will take 20 on perception looking for traps on the door behind the tapestries in the throne room

Unless anyone else wishes to investigate the room, Aryn closes the doors again. "Nothing to see there."

The secret door behind the throne is not trapped, but locked.

Eldlen finding the door behind the tapestries unlocked and Aryn returning from the messy room, he says to the team

Yon hidden door behind the tapestries is unlocked, shall we precede there before I pick the lock on the door behind the throne?

without waiting for an answer, sword in hand, he opens the door and looks inside

Blong looks a bit surprised as the door is opened and there are no people. He inspects the room after the others enter.
"Looks pretty bad in here... Although I am quite glad the army is not present."
He turns around again and follows Eldlen from the room into the secret door.
"Let's try the unlocked door."
He says as he moves to the tapestries.

Eldlen opens the door and the first thing he sees is a cone of fire.
Burning Hands: 1d4 ⇒ 1 Reflex DC14 for half damage

so reflex save, also he's been casting "breeze" 1d20 + 6 + 2 ⇒ (10) + 6 + 2 = 18

Eldlen ducks out of the way of the fire, and continues through the door calling out

beware friends, there are't more fire traps.

"You sure you want to be the first to head in?" Aryn asks Eldlen. "I told you before that I'm willing to head in first."

Aryn doesn't await Eldlen's answer and passes him, entering the room behind the tapestries.

"Think you should go first Aryn. I will be right behind you."
He moves in behind her and is ready to move into the room.

I LIIIIIVE! Sorry guys, unexpectedly crazy week at work + opening a show kicked my butt. I'm back! Gonna try to pick up the pace here...

When he hears the noise of soldiers but they find none, Ausk growls and pulls a javelin out of the sheath on his back. "Damned dead should stay dead. Least until they need to suffer at the hands of the Great God's final devouring...I don't like this."

He sniggers slightly as Eldlen ducks the cone of flame, but follows the others into the secret room.

After the cone of fire disappears you see a male human sorcerer throwing another fire cone at you.

Blong, behind Aryn, starts swinging his glaive. He misses the figure because of Aryn who is in the way.
"Dammit!"
He curses as the blade flashes past the sorcerer.

Aryn lets the flames wash over her. They feel nice and warm to her, due to her natural resistance to fire.

"Stand still, please. It'll be over faster." She takes a 5-foot step toward the sorcerer and swings her greatsword at him.

Ausk just grunts as he ducks and the flames wash past his head, causing a rush of dizziness from the heat. "How many times do I have to say this today? I AM THE FIRE!" Dropping his javelin by the doorway, the little gnome sprints headlong past Aryn to take a chop at the wizard's knees.

Eldlen dodges the fire ball, swings her elven curved blade against the sorcerer and cuts a deep wound into his chest. Blong tries to do the same with his blade, but misses. Followed by Aryn and Ausk which both hit the sorcerer and the man drops to the floor. he's dead

Blong loots the sorcerer for all he's worth, everything to his clothes, and spits on him afterwards.
"Filthy bastard."
He walks out of the room and up to the throne.
"Now for this door, Eldlen?"

as Blong strip searches the sorcerer's carcass Eldlen returns to the door behind the throne and picks the lock, instead of immediately opening it this time he asks the team.

Eldlen takes 20 on disable device for the lock on the door behind the throne

"Of course, Eldlen. Just stand back."

Aryn lets Eldlen step back and takes his position at the other door, which she opens.

"Bah!" Ausk snorts as he watches the others toss the wizard's corpse. "Not even a decent bringer of apocalypse in this so-called temple..." The filthy little gnome snatches up his javelin and follows Aryn out, taking up a position directly behind her at the next door.

While Blong searches for useful stuff Eldlen is able to unlock the secret door behind the throne. Aryn opens attempts to open the door. It opens onto a covered bridge forty feet across. The entire structure appears to be carved from a single red stone, but the centuries-long burial in sand has levied its toll.

Long cracks line the walls and ceiling, and twenty feet along the bridge a seven-foot gash splits the floor in two, through which the dark orange stone of the valley below is visible. Spaced every ten feet on the walls are a series of massive carved heads: a pair of screaming fire elementals, a pair of humans clad in armor, and a pair of bull-headed men, each flanked by massive torches. The arch’s far end is carved into the shape of a massive leering face, with golden double doors in place of its mouth.

The carved faces are actually stylized windows. The numerous openings to the outside make this chamber relatively cool compared to the rest of the Citadel and provide bright illumination.

The gash in the bridge floor is 7 feet across and opens onto the valley floor 30 feet below. On the other side you see a flying creature.

Intimidate: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (13) + 9 = 22

"Get your lazy ass over here!"
Blong yells at the creature from the doorway.
"Don't make me come to you!"

How high does the creature fly?

"I hate it when they do that," Aryn tells Blong. "I hope it's coming down."

Ausk pushes past the two bigger warriors in front onto the bridge. "What's all this, then? What in the name of Lamashtu's t+&$ is that?" He peers at the creature curiously, and calls out to it, "Hey! You! You friend? Foe? Food? Eh, what? Eh? EH?!" He shakes his javelin at it threateningly.

If the creature moves to attack, Ausk will immediately throw his javelin at it.

Attack: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (14) + 1 = 15
Damage: 1d4 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4 piercing damage

Eldlen, sheaths his sword in its scabbard and un-quivers his bow preparing to shoot the flying creature.

The creature is hovering in front of the golden doors, maybe 3 ft. high.

When the creature hears Blong's voice it crosses the gap and gets closer. You can see that it's a small devil with wings and a long tail. It wields a spear. Knowledge Planes

I'm guarding this entrance to the Inferno Heart. You may not pass!" the small devil says.

Eldlen prepares to shoot the creature

"Ach, filthy devil," Ausk says, spitting over the side of the bridge. "Well, I think we shall pass! C'mon!" Without another word, he drops his javelin and rushes the winged fiend!

Damage: 1d10 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7

Eldlen identifies the creature as a lesser host devil. They can resist some damage DR5/good, are immune to fire and poison and are resistant to acid and cold 10.

Ausk is impatient and wants to get to the other side of the bridge so he attacks the devil. what kind of weapon?

Aiming ant the Devil's navel, Eldlen draws the hawk-fletched arrow back to his ear and releases it in one smooth motion,

longbow attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (7) + 5 = 12 for damage: 1d8 ⇒ 4

Blong moves forward and stabs at the creature with his glaive. The ones in front of him block his way and he stumbles with his attack. A series of curses can softly be heard from him.

Knowledge (Planes): 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (9) + 5 = 14

Aryn also recognizes the devil and shares the information about it with the others.

I can't overcome its resistance, so I'll try to overpower it instead.

While Aryn moves up to the devil her silver hair turns white and starts moving wildly, as if there's a storm moving it. Aryn's blue eyes also turn white, leaving only her pupils and the edges of her irises black.

Going to wait till the devil goes, but it's my greataxe; slashing damage and, sadly, no magic to speak of. Stupid DR. :P

Aryn confirms what Eldlen already told about the devil. She prepares and attacks the devil in front of her and cuts deep wound in it's belly. Blong and Eldlen try to do the same, but they both miss their target.

The devil opens it's mouth and exhales. Suddenly Aryn smells a mixture of decay, rotting food and sulfur. DC14 Fortitude or sickened for 1d4 ⇒ 2 rounds (Noxious Breath)

With a howl of rage, Ausk darts past the devil and chops his greatax down in a mighty blow!

His ax strikes the floor sending up sparks and a howl from the filthy gnome as the impact jars his hands.

Ausk swings his greataxe against the small devil, but hits only the sandstone floor of the bridge. His hands are hurting after the missed strike.

Eldlen, frustrated that he did not hit the devil with his arrow drops the bow and unsheathing his Elven Curved Sword and using Hand of the apprentice throws it at the evil creature.

Blong tries another stab at the creature but fails again. He starts to curse loudly.

Aryn holds her breath and swings again at the creature, hitting it very hard. The devil is still hovering, but you can see that it is already injured very badly. Eldlen and Blong try to do the same with their weapons, but they both miss their target.

The devil pushes it's spear against 1d2 ⇒ 1 Aryn but it's arms are already weak and the spear gets deflected by Aryn's armor.

"Why will nothing in this cursed temple end?!" Ausk asks rhetorically with a throaty chuckle. "Away, damn you! Back to the hells from whence you came!"

Ausk attacks the devil a second time and the creature finally drops to the ground.

"Eeeheeheehee!" The disgusting gnome capers oddly over the devil's prone corpse. "Very good, very good, very excellent good!" Turning to the others he raises his ax and bellows, "ONWARD! FOR RUIN!"

Then he turns and, backing up slightly, charges toward the broken section of causeway!

With a single bound, the gnome lands on the other side and turns back to his companions. "Come along, worms! You heard the thing...we are close to the Heart of the burning!"
