Evenstar |
Evenstar rolls her eyes at the more diplomatic approach, but cannot deny its effectiveness.
"Where can we find this 'Hafshi'?" she asks.
Seinaru Kage |
"And how do we get through the door to cross the bridge to see this Hafshi?" Sen asks smiling. "As to how we can help you, you can still be redeemed and live as a normal man. No one ever truely wants to work for a demon unless they are exceedingly evil or stupid. And you dont strike me as either. Plus we help you by letting you live and leave this place."

Farg looks from the man to his companions
Are we finished with this fellow? The Tiefling inquires as he raises a fist to knock the man out.
Farg |
Farg delivers the Knockout punch as Kavaki looks away. Then he gags the man and leaves him hear, to pick up later.
What's wrong with subdueing a defeated foe? the Tiefling inquires of the tian man.
Evenstar |
Evenstar frowns.
"I agree with the tielfling on this one. We either kill an unarmed man, let a dangerous foe loose at our backs, or disable him. I think it was the right choice," she nods.
"Let's keep going then...let's find this secret door behind the throne."
Seinaru Kage |
"We can bring him with us when we leave. I hope he can still be saved after the evil he has done. Someone should tie him up though. Just in case." Sen says as he moves over to the door.

I think our marching order puts some more well-armored fighters in the front...so whatever we had been doing, let's just stick with.
GM Baerlie |
The secret door opens onto a covered bridge forty feet across. The entire structure appears to be carved from a single red stone, but the centuries-long burial in sand has levied its toll. Long cracks line the walls and ceiling, and twenty feet along the bridge a seven-foot gash splits the floor in two, through which the dark orange stone of the valley below is visible. Spaced every ten feet on the walls are a series of massive carved heads: a pair of screaming fire elementals, a pair of humans clad in armor, and a pair of bull-headed men, each flanked by massive torches. The arch’s far end is carved into the shape of a massive leering face, with golden double doors in place of its mouth.
This bridge links the Ember Halls with the inner sanctum of Moloch’s cult, the Inferno Heart. The carved faces are actually stylized windows. The numerous openings to the outside make this chamber relatively cool compared to the rest of the Citadel.
On the other side you see a creature hovering in front of the golden double doors.
Farg |
Ho! Guardian! Farg calls out nonchalantly. We have come to defile the inner sanctum of Moloch's temple! Care to give us a hand?
Not quite sure if I understand the map correctly. Can we walk onto the bridge? And possibly hop over the breach?
Evenstar |
Evenstar holds her greatsword before her and watches the creature warily.
She smirks at the tielfling's bravado.
Sounds like something I would say...

Yes, you can walk onto the bridge and hop over the breach. It's seven feet wide. Knowlede Planes for the creature.
The creature looks at Farg. "Although defiling sounds fun you are not going to pass! I'm here to kill every intruder and you don't look like worshippers of Moloch!" the crature shrieks.

The creature in front of you is a Magaav, a Greater Host Devil. Twin pairs of mangy, disease-riddled vulture wings f lap in concert, keeping this lean raptor fiend aloft. Twisted horns rise from a head like a monstrous skull and noxious fumes leak from between its yellowed fangs. Hovering with impossible control, its vicious foottalons clench and unclench, while its clawed hands wield a long, three-pointed ranseur. Hex (witch): Evil Eye (Su): The witch can cause doubt to creep into the mind of a foe within 30 feet that she can see. The target takes a –2 penalty on one of the following (witch's choice): AC, ability checks, attack rolls, saving throws, or skill checks. This hex lasts for a number of rounds equal to 3 + the witch's Intelligence modifier. A Will save reduces this to just 1 round. This is a mind-affecting effect. At 8th level the penalty increases to –4. DC:13 Will = 4 rounds (fail), 1 round (success)

Kavaki Gossamar |
yes, if he's not prone then the vicious stomp did not occur. Did the reposition succeed? If not then the trip attack would be a 2nd reposition attempt. Either way Kavaki should be against the wall, and the enemy on the opposite side.
Farg |
Move and em do nothing. The way the battle field is set you are gonna have to solo the goon Kavaki. Best of luck on that... Farg has feather fall should Kavaki accidentally fall off the bridge.
GM Baerlie |
Actually the GM is female, lol. And she sometimes does not know how things work. Seinaru is right, the trip works, mixed something up because I thought it happens only if the reposition was successfull, missed that it's the normal attack. Sorry!
Kavaki slips behind the devil, grabs the flying creature, pushes it to the ground and kicks the creature while it's prone. But this is not enough, while Kavaki kicks the devil he also hexes it with the evil eye.

GM Baerlie |
Sorry for the late replay. Yes, you can stand on the half square and reach the devil which should be only 5ft away.
Kavaki uses another chance to hit the devil on the ground. He breaks one of its wings. Evenstar swings her greatsword and cuts a deep wound in the devil's flash. Although the wounds close partly you can see the creature already weakened a bit. Seinaru casts bless in the meantime.
